I started coming to European Wax Center out of convenience - it is located nearby and they have great hours. On my first visit I booked with Que, and I'll never look back! She is so friendly and personable, she can easily distract me from the pain of the service and keep my kind distracted. She is so quick but never leaves anything behind. So I went in for a Brazilian tonight. My wax girl was really nice, pretty painless, and very fast. But I did NOT get a thorough wax. After I left, I stopped by Kroger, picked up some Sally Hansen Face + Bikini wax strips, came home, and waxed my own butthole (attached photo is just one strip from the left side). I don't know how this much hair was overlooked. But I don't want to pay $50 + tip only to have to buy my own wax and wax my own butthole. -_- read more

Since I've moved to VA recently I've had bad wax experiences until I came here and started getting waxed by Sydney. She been waxing me consistently for about a year now and she's amazing. From day one she's been very professional, personal, welcoming, and super efficient. She's super fast and doesn't leave a hair behind, even keeps control of my ingrown hairs! Was given a gift certificate here. I like that there's multiple options for booking: app, mobile and over the phone. I can say that the young woman who booked my appointment wasn't very pleasant when taking my information, she seemed to be in a rush and a tad condescending. If I tell you it's my first time, this may imply that I don't know your 9 minute late policy. All policies are not self explanatory, btw. Anyway, I was able to get an appointment the same day I called, within a couple hours time, so it is very convenient to be seen on short notice. Despite the young lady at the front desk (wish I got her name), I can say I had a great experience overall. My wax was done by Shaneka who made me feel comfortable and at ease. She thoroughly explained each step to me which kept me in the loop about the entire process. She even pitched products they had for sale, not in a pushy way but actually was informative about the benefits. She is a great conversationalist and gave a relatively painless wax. Are you in a pinch, no time to at least trim but you need to get that bushwhacked ASAP? Then book Que! I hate when I go too long without waxing my lady parts because it's almost as bad as the first time LOL. Okay maybe not that bad but it's intense. It's helpful to trim the hair just a little bit to ease the intensity of the yank. I didn't have time to do that first but Que did a really good job with keeping me from falling off the table in agony. Yes, it's happened to me before just not at this establishment lol. She's very good at distracting you with good conversation and hearty laughs. Sooooo where do I begin . This was my 1st time at EWC. I scheduled an appointment for a Brazillian. The young lady who greeted me in the front was very sweet and professional ( didn't get her name but she had braids). The waiting area and the room I received services in was clean. The person who did my wax was sweet but ummmm I left out of there in pain. The young lady name started w/ an A (she's in the 2nd room to the left if that helps). As she prepped me for my wax she didn't talk through each step. She splashed some baby powder on me and then began to slather the wax on the area below. I never had wax smothered around my goodies like that so I quickly became concerned. I asked her how long had she been waxing for and she let me know that she graduated six months ago. Now don't get me wrong I'm all about giving people opportunities but the way this wax was feeling I felt as her test dummy. She took out the tweezers and started to tweeze ( again this was the first I've had to get tweezed). I politely asked her to stop because by this time I was a little passed annoyed. When it came time to wax my butt she had gotten wax on areas that didn't need to be waxed or should have wax applied. When I git home and looked at my goodies a piece of my skin was gone. I Somethings to consider ECW Allow clients the opportunity to get undress also provide a small towel so we can cover up our goodies until our waxer enters the room Also, offer a light refreshment such as water while your guest wait I also noticed that no paperwork was completed. Soooo I usually go to Bombshell but decided to give This a try. I was greeted with semi friendly girls in the front then went to the back with April my waxer. It was an okay experience because not only was it painful but I asked her to leave a landing strip but she gave me a bald eagle(mad about it). Upon leaving she told me one of my waxes were free due to the complimentary first time visit. I get to the front and was charged for BOTH my waxes. When I called on the phone to question the policy the girl Was not clear nor knowledgeable of the advertisement and instructed the manager would call me back. Well, there were a little bumps in the road with the overall transition of services (Waxpass issues and nonchalant front desk) however the service that Kendra provided made it easier to keep coming back. A+ for the waxing. My technician was friendly, professional, and seemed experienced. However. I started out wanting to get an underarm wax before a trip. I chose EWC and saw that they offer a free bikini, underarm, or brow wax for first-time clients. So, I decided to get a bikini wax too, because hey why not? But of course when I called to book an appointment, I asked to make sure that I could pay for the underarm wax and get the bikini wax free. Some stores apply the discount automatically to the most expensive item, and others do the cheapest. The woman who booked me said yes you can get a free wax, and something vague about the computer system doing it automatically. Seemed a little fishy, but I figured I would just clarify when I went in. When I got there for my appt, I asked the woman at the desk what my cost was going to be, and she pulled my up on the computer and told me $20. Great! It sounds like she's only charging me for the underarm wax. I had a short wait, so I tried to chat with her, but she kind of just shrugged me off. Fast-forward to afterwards, I go to pay and the front desk woman now says that it's $38... I guess when she told me the price beforehand, she had quoted me for the wrong services. I tried to talk to her about it, but at this point I'd already gotten the service so there wasn't much I could do. It was still a good price for the service, and the deal is a great deal, but if they had been clear and up-front about it I would have chosen differently. I didn't want to drop $50 (including tip) today, especially right before a trip, but I was cornered into it... almost tricked into it. They give out a coupon for your next wax, but based on this experience I'm not sure that I would go back. read more

Hello again, I'm still trying to not be charged for a wax pass I initially tried to cancel months ago. I have tried to make contact by phone, but I only receive calls during my work day when I've disputed a charge or left a review here. I have not been able to reach the managers when I do call the locations they say they'll be managing on specific days. Since I blocked the charges on the authorized card, they have defaulted to charging my debit card. I spoke with my bank today regarding that issue as well. This ongoing battle to cancel the service when I complied with company policy is causing an extreme amount of stress and anxiety. The relentless pursuit of charging me for services I no longer want is harassment and having to post here isn't the best way of getting my message from corporate to the franchise. I've found a customer service number to try tomorrow. It shouldn't take a conversation to cancel a service. read more

So, started out going here with my wife. Told her to pay attention so I could yelp on her behalf. She would have given it a 4. Here's why. Eyebrows look great, but, the waxer didn't really explain a lot to her which she would have liked given that it was her first time. Also, she used some brow filler that was much too dark for my wife's face. Again eyebrows were great though. Here's why I have a 5. While I was waiting, the front desk talked me into getting a complimentary service as a first time guest. I admit I was nervous at first. "I don't need anything waxed?!" But, no shame, got my nose done. And I was sold. My waxer explained everything to me, assured me it wasn't going to hurt, and walked me through everything. It seriously did not hurt one bit. I have been a Bombshell loyalist for years for all of my intimate waxing needs, but European Wax Center may have stolen me away! This place is absolutely amazing and the service is superb. My friend in northern VA told me to try this place (because they seem to be just about everywhere-super convenient!) because I wanted to start waxing instead of shaving. I'm prone to ingrown hairs in my bikini area, and the scars were making me insecure. I made my first appointment with Natalie, and it was amazing! I'll never go back to shaving. I also purchased the Smooth Me ingrown hair serum, which is part of European Wax Centers Line at my first appointment and it's seriously like gold. My fiancé even started using it on his face after shaving to prevent ingrown hairs and it works like a charm. Did I mention the Brazilian wax is the same price as one that I've had at a little Chinese nail spot back in the day, and it was ten times better (and cleaner)... Not impressed with service. Wax professional Asia was great. Front desk refused to give me my free or half off wax after being told I would receive it. I had an appointment for brow and lip wax. When I got there, I told the lady at the front desk it was my first time and I was considering a full face instead. She told me that was fine and I could talk to my wax professional about it. Afterwards, the same lady at the front desk spent 10 mins trying to get me to buy a package and telling me how I missed out on my free or half off wax because the full face isn't part of that and how if I had just done the brow and lip I could have gotten the brow free or if I had done a Brazilian it would have been half off. I explained I was coming back another day this week for the Brazilian but she said I couldn't use the half off then either. Ultimately, I was annoyed. Then after walking out I realize I was overcharged in addition to not receiving my first time discount. She charged me for a lip and full face. Upon returning I was informed that no one could credit my card for the overcharge. That I would have to wait. No one is authorized. They called the manager and the Regional Manager Brittney Mallory told me she would credit my card tomorrow or Tuesday. WHAT?!?! That's not even LEGAL to charge someone for a service incorrectly and not issue a credit. She said "it is legal, that's how the franchise does it" Ummmmm ok NO IT IS NOT! Ultimately, she offered for me to have my Brazilian at the discounted price this week. I will update afterwards. I am definitely not holding my breath for a satisfactory experience. read more

Jess was nothing short of amazing. As a male, it was my first time receiving a Brazilian wax, and she made the experience as painless as it could be. We were able to laugh and she was able to help numb a lot of the pain that would have otherwise been rough. She was incredibly sweet, friendly, kind, and courteous. She asked me questions throughout since she knew it was my first time to make sure I wasn't in too much pain, and was incredibly thorough in her explanations to make sure I fully understood what was going on. She continuously asked questions to make sure I was getting the "end product" that I wanted, and I'm so thankful I went through her. I love EWC! I don't understand why people are leaving negative reviews, especially about the "patches of hair" and the "rude customer service". I have a very hard time believing this, as I've been a customer there since they have opened and have never had a single negative experience. I have packages for brow and Brazilian and I love that I can save money buying these packages. The wax is gentler than most and my waxer, Natalie will often times ask me if the temp is comfortable. When I first started going to EWC, I had no eyebrows due to over tweezing but with going back regularly and using their products, my brows are defined and full. I am a blonde too, so that means a lot! If I ever had any issue with my waxer missing a spot or leaving patches of hair, I mentioned it to her and she had no problem working with me until I was satisfied. They do give you a mirror to look in after all. And there have been cases where I've gone home, noticed it, and called immediately to come back and get a quick fix with the tweezers. It is important to make your feelings known before going to write a bad review! I feel these ladies are truly looking to help you feel more confident. I know they have helped me immensely! read more

Yelp says an appointment is required, but it's a breeze to book online right before you want to go. I keep a fairly thick brow, but they were completely out of control. Natalie shaped and cleaned them while maintaining the width I like. She was friendly, took her time, and offered to fill them in before I left. Plus, it was my first visit, so it was free! I hadn't gotten waxed in at least a year and my last place "Curly Willow Spa" was booked. This was nearby and so I took a chance. I was nervous and skeptical especially because the girl that scheduled my appointment was not very friendly. She didn't even ask me what service I wanted. Nonetheless, I went and was very pleased with my service provider! Jessica was AWESOME! She really explained each step and helped me to relax. She was funny and talked me through my breathing. I was so shocked how quick it was! I believe she did about 5 full strips and a few clean ups and I was done! I did have some residual wax leftover but overall I'm very pleased with the results! Ladies! Ladies! Ladies! And gentlemen who appreciate proper grooming :). Let's talk. (Now before we begin let me say that this is both a first time experience with some wax services as well as first in any euro wax station location) Let's start with service. When calling to book my appointment I spoke with a very pleasant and welcoming young women who didn't seem bothered or annoyed with my thousands of questions about availability.(I'm a new mom so my time slots are pretty hard to work with). The receptionist worked with me and booked my appointment for my very first Brazilian and then a much need maintenance eyebrow wax. I got to my appt about an hour earlier. I expected to just wait in the reception area until my appointment because I didn't feel like walking around. While the reception area is really much or an "area" it's still very quiet and somewhat relaxing. The space is very clean and chic. To my surprise I was serviced 30 mins before my appt which was a shocker and very appreciated. Now for the actual service. I was nervous to experience my very first Brazilian as to many friends told me that it would hurt. Some even told me to take pain mess before. Lateesha, my tech, was amazing. She knew that this was my first wax and she made the experience more pleasant. She talked to me the whole time and explained in detail what she was doing and why. She used a blue hard wax which to me was great. This is known as an "express" wax as to they try to keep it between 15-20 mins. I personally wouldn't want it to go longer like no need to extend the discomfort. As for the pain level it was NOT as bad as it was made out to be. Of course it's not the most comfortable experience but it was the worst pain I've experienced either. As soon as there was pain the pain was gone because she would immediately apply pressure which removes some of the discomfort. Over all I loved my experience. Oh, as far as my eyebrows for the first time a wax tach LISTENED to what I wanted and not what they wanted!. I like my eyebrows to be thick and not highly arched and she did EXACTLY what I asked for. I loved it. Of course after the service they try to sell you a package. In this instance it was offered and not in a pushy way which I appreciated. I plan to return as well as buy a package! This establishment is clean and well maintained. The front receptionists were super friendly and welcoming, and my esthetician, Kelsie, was incredibly professional and great at what she does. This was my first time getting something other than my eyebrows waxed, and Kelsie made the whole ordeal calm and relaxing, as well as fun. So this was my second time coming to the EWC but this was my first time coming to the Midlothian location. My wax specialist was Natalie. She was the BOMB! She was patient, comforting, and talked to me during the entire waxing process. Natalie is a great person to have for your first time getting a wax. I highly recommend her. I will never go back. I had a horrible experience. Went in for a bikini wax. This experience was nothing compared to my previous experience at another salon. I was never offered anything to cover myself while she did my eyebrows. The wax itself is not good, I will have to fix it myself. The room was so filthy with hair all over the floor. She stayed in the room while I undressed and dressed which I found extremely awkward. They say to go there to pamper yourself but the experience ruined my night honestly.
