We chatted entire time during procedure and I was more comfortable than I've ever been versus going to a doctor to examine ur lady bits. Book online, thru their free app, or call. Love that my girl was available on a Sunday too! Park Ave can be very difficult to find street parking, but they are conveniently located right outside the walk thru from lot on Kipp Ave behind it. Time slots are booked as 15 min appts and I was shocked how quickly everything was done, minimal pain, and pleasant! They offer wax pass packages too to save extra money for future visits. Nali at the front desk was a doll too! Loved the sheer honesty of recommended product (s). Didn't feel pressured at all to buy anything. Super knowledgeable staff, but be your own advocate and do your own research prior for more intimate waxing procedures. I've moved and have been coming to this wax center for at least 2 year. Jennifer is a lovely and kind guest service associate. She's always so bubbly, kind and informative on services and pricing with the wax passes, working hard to save me money on product deals especially because I love their products. The body wash and polish really cleared and smoothed the skin on my legs, underarms and other areas since I use it all over. I've wax with a few different waxers here, Racheal who is amazing and really engages in conversation to distract from the pain. The reason I decided to make a review is waxed specialist Jojo. She is a angel sent from the beauty industry heavens. She's so nice, so gentle, so fast. I was in disbelief that I was already done and it was a painless process. I will return to her for the rest of my life. It's so hard to find a great waxer and I couldn't help but share this to whoever may have had a bad experience or is afraid of waxing, try Jojo. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ! I've been going to the European wax center in Paramus for years now and I love it . They have the best waxers there . But I recently moved and this location is closer to me so I decided to try it out . Which I regret. I get Brazilians , which take no longer than 15 minutes. I'm usually in and out . This time around I was in that room for over 40 minutes!! 40 MINUTES of excruciating pain. I thought I was never getting out of there . The lady was nice but clearly new and had no idea what she was doing . They really need to train people thoroughly before allowing them to work on people . It's absolutely ridiculous that I had to go through that . At the end when she was plucking the extra hairs out she pinched me and I had enough , told her to stop and left . There were chunks of wax still left on my vagina & hair . I'm so sore . I'm literally icing my vagina right now as I write this lol to top it all off , I got a$40 parking ticket . I only paid for 30 mins smh . I will never come back to this location . I rather drive 22 minutes then to experience that again . read more

As a first timer I thought the obvious choice was to go to a reputable place like European Wax Center. I chose this location being it is one of the most reviewed establishments with a lot of experience waxers as it was portrayed until the day of my first Brazilian experience.... Everything seemed to be going well and the waxer Jessica came highly recommended. She made me feel comfortable and well aware of what she will be doing as each strip was being ripped off (ouch!) Nevertheless the experience seem to be okay for the most part and I made it through (thank heavens!) Soon after she put the final creams and sent me off. Prior to leaving, I asked Jessica if it was alright to put on coconut oil for afterwards to keep the sacred area in good condition. She said yes and that is what I did for next day or two until...I broke out in hives and red bumps everywhere!! I could hardly walk because of the pain which literally made waddle like a damn duck. Even to the point of going commando to work, because it was so sensitive to wear panties! I didn't know what to do and decided to call back to see what advice they can give me to relieve this pain. I called and they told me I should have the aftercare serum. And I said "Where was this aftercare serum that no one had mentioned prior to me leaving the service??" She then said "it's here and you can come over to purchase." I was so furious and told the girl "your waxer of 6 years told me it was ok to put coconut oil and now I have to head back after the fact when I am experiencing excruciating pain " like WTF! Finally I gave up after all the creams I tried to relieve the pain, I then decided to see my primary doctor because it was looking very scary down there like a damn horror movie. The doctor said I got an infection and the place I had went to "European Wax Center in Rutherford" probably did not sterilize their equipment properly and was prescribed antibiotics and more damn creams! This experience has scarred me for life and I will never get a Brazilian wax or any bikini wax again! I will have to use the old razor method. For a place so reputable, they truly need to review their facility and their employees. Waste of $58! Got my full face waxed by Angela. Wow. She is terrible. Nice lady, but she cannot wax. I have so much hair left on my face. My brows are awful. She got wax on my shirt. It was an awful experience. I asked her to re-do a few areas and she sighed. The wax was COLD. I told her this and she said it was just fine. It was not warm enough to take off the hairs! I do this often, I know it's not working when I don't feel any pain. I had to leave for an appointment elsewhere, or I would have had her fix it until it was right. I called the place and asked when a manager would be in, and I was told Brittany would be in on Tuesday! Great- can't even talk to someone and see if it can be fixed. Nehal was my waxer for my Brazillian and she was amazing! I told her I was a bit anxious as it was only my second time getting it done and the first experience at another salon wasn't the best. She was very precise and although I'm sure the experience will never be completely pain free, it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. I also didn't get the chance to get the name of the receptionist up front but the one with the jade ring and bracelet was VERY nice and patient when we ran into an issue with my card type. My review is purely based on customer service. There is a women who works the front desk at this location named Olivia, what a beam of sunshine! She makes everyone in the waiting area smile. She gets to know you personally, and remembers you when you return! For me personally the time leading up to my dreadful Brazilian wax is the most anxiety filled, however when Olivia is working that anxiety is washed away with her friendly banter. I don't go here anymore- and haven't for a few years. This used to be a thriving location and it's literal trash now. I was a faithful patron for almost a decade. I went to the same girl most of my time there, but when and if I did try someone else they were awful. The one girl who worked there was amazing and she became the only reason I remained going there for my waxes. Near the end they would frequently double book me, confirm appointments that had been cancelled, and even just cancelled me without notice. I attempted to unsuccessfully raise this issues to managements attention several times. When my waxer of choice finally left this location I completely stopped going to this location altogether. Since I had been going there for almost 10 years at the time, had purchased numerous packages and thousands of dollars of waxes, I made a stink and said I wanted to speak to the owners- they had a right to know what was going on. I loved this location and I had watched it change hands 3x and go down the tubes. The once packed waiting room was now empty, and the front desk girl at the time would frequently forget to buzz my waxer when I entered and made frequent errors with payments, bookings, and scheduling...she had been there a year. Even now this location is the only one with open spots to book on the same day, compared to Paramus or Teterboro. I felt the owners deserved to know what was going on. I called to try to speak to management and kept getting told I'd get a call back. No one ever called me back, despite my repeated attempts. I finally left a message that I was going to look up the public records for the owners and contact them directly. They had a right to know what was going on with their business. That earned a response from the owners hired Manager - who does absolutely nothing by the way- and she claimed she had never gotten a message. She actually was also insanely rude given the details I gave about time and money of mine that had been Mia charged or times that had been double booked. I showed up for an appointment once and had to give it to another lady because she had been booked for it and I wasn't about to deprive her of the service she was a senior citizen. Another time the front desk used the card on file to charge me for an appointment I hadn't gone scheduled or had. I told her I wanted to talk directly to the owners because clearly issues weren't being communicated and I informed her whether she put me through or not I was prepared to contact them directly - getting contact information isn't that difficult with public information for businesses. She said I'd hear back from her and I of course didn't. I called her back a week later and left the number for the owners that I had gotten through my independent research- it was their verified billing information. She immediately called me back claiming the owners had been on vacation and she was just waiting for them to get back and to please not reach out. The owners finally did reach out - they were actually insanely nice. They claimed they had no idea any of this was happening but knew there had to be issues because their business had gone down. I told them I would never be back and I haven't, and I've used other franchises before but only ones I know are owned separately. That location is a mess! The last time I went and the conversation with the owners was all about 3-4 years ago. Do not go here. From recent reviews it has not changed. read more

I've been getting Brazilian waxes every 30 days for the past 10 years. Some of my best experiences and results have been in Chicago, Manhattan and here Rutherford, NJ....uh, like the best of my life. EWC is so unique and so good I bought an annual package for every area (5 yrs running). Right now my technician is Allie and just last week I fell asleep during the service. Ha! Yes I was exhausted but no one is too tired during waxing...Right?! Her touch is confident but gentle, thorough but fast. She's also funny. To top it off, the front desk girls are awesome. They take care of me every single time. Whether I'm running late, need a last minute change or some other creative problem to solve they make it happen. Apparently I still had four packages but didn't find this out until after I was charged $558 for 12 new packages. I have been calling for over a week to speak with the manager and the manager will not return my phone calls. They have no interest in acknowledging the issue. Apparently this is not the first time that they have done this. This is a horrible way to run a business. I came here to write a review about how amazing Jade is, but apparently I'm a little late on jumping on the Jade-is-amazing bandwagon! I went here a couple times before seeing Jade and whoever I had prior messed up my eyebrows. I literally hated how they looked and vowed never to return. But then I was looking at my face in the mirror one day and realized I needed to give it one more try. Enter: Jade. She's brilliant. And kind. And she's the only person I trust with my eyebrows. I think I've been going here for a little over a year now. The place is spotless, the service is quick. I am literally in and out in less than 10 minutes. I'm sad to say, but I won't return here again. Being my first time working up enough nerve to go for a Brazilian wax, I booked my reservation online. I left a note in one of the sections letting them know it was my first time and requested a waxer who was quick and made me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, I got neither. The process took awhile, and the waxer did not go out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Before she began to apply the wax, I asked her for any pointers to help make the process less painful. She didn't offer any suggestions, except one (that did actually work) anyway, I was hoping to feel way more comfortable than I did. Especially since I specifically left a note explaining my circumstances. I felt this location did not in the least consider my note and stuck me with any waxer free at the time despite my requests. I have been going to this EWC location for a while now with no issues and today this girl I've never met with before refused to do my Brazilian because the length is "too short." It's not too short, I always get a Brazilian done at this length and it's perfectly fine. I go on vacation tomorrow and will now have to shave after not shaving for a long time. Popped in without an appt to inquire about their services. Front desk was very nice & helpful & answered all my questions. They told me I could get my first wax for free so I decided to try it. I got a simple bikini wax; it was decent & my skin didn't react badly so I was happy about that. My tech was kind of aloof; I tried to chat her up a bit but she basically had little personality...oh well... While at checkout they tried hard to do the up-sell....$300 for a package of waxes or whatever...no way am I plucking down all that $ in advance for bikini waxes. I guess if u go very frequently it makes sense...I'm just a plain old pay as you go customer. Street parking only which kind of stinks; it's hard to get a spot on park ave... This place is great. I see Ryan every 4 weeks for eyebrows and brazilian. She is fabulous! Attention to detail, so nice, makes you feel comfortable, she gets 5 stars. oh, and she's quick! The place is clean, front desk staff is also nice and professional and do a great job on getting me with the upsell! The prices are great, first wax ever there is half off. I recommend getting the package of 12, you save alot of $$ and it really makes you go (I am very good at going for 2 months then stopping). With the package I book my next appts before I leave and am committed to them! I've been to pricy salons in Manhattan where I have paid $85 for a brazilian before tip (ouch) and Ryan does a better job for a fraction of the price, and EWC is just as nice as the pricy place. The one star is knocked off because of the crappy music. I guess EWC doesn't want to pay for the license to play real music, so you get terrible rock songs that you never heard before. But I guess if it keeps the price down I'll take it. Note - if you are looking for fancy robe/give you juice beforehand, etc, type of place you are in the wrong place. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice but not a relaxing, whimsical experience. But, as a reminder, you are getting your hair ripped out, so it shouldn't be a pleasurable experience. I used to go to a nail salon in my town to get my eyebrows done but they were so inconsistent and they always rushed me in and out. After i visited European Wax Center, although my first time i thought they were a tad pricey, i think its worth it. The girls at the front desk are so friendly and accommodating. The wax they use also doesn't irritate my skin like the regular wax does, especially after they use the "calming cream" after. I bought the unlimited brow wax which gives me unlimited visits for an entire year, definitely worth it. So I went to get my waxing done here, the people here are so friendly and professional. I had a appointment with Paulina. She is such a sweetheart, I was so into the conversation that I forgot that I am very nervous when it comes to waxing. My skin was super soft and cleaned of all hair. I also purchased 3 items there.
