The coffee is not great here which problem adds to why I overlook it here, as coffee is always on the top of my list when grabbing some lunch. It's nice place to grab some artisan foods or nibbles for when you have guests coming. They also have a little newsagents thing going on so you can grab a magazine/newspaper. They have a deli, a hot grill option plus there is fresh juices and smoothies available here.

Well like the vast majority of dwellers on this island I was unemployed for the first time in my life several months ago and I never want to return to that part of my life - who does? As a result I came here every Tuesday to get my free money. Folks dressed in their business best claiming, rather sad really. Although it was a tad comical having to walk through this upscale grocery store to claim. Sometimes I messed with their head and bought an over priced tub of cut up fruit and and some pretentious juice. Thank the powers that be I am employed again but I still have found the service in there borderline rude - I don't feel the need to dress up to do my shopping. If you just want to get a few bits and pieces this is the place and again I have only tried this one. I am not opposed to upper end shopping as I am a fan of Listons chiefly due to their tea range.

It's kept well stocked and clean throughout the day, and there's usually security at the door keeping the order. You can find almost anything you need, including some ethnic foods and also nice treats, like speciality teas and baked goods. Their bread is quite nice, especially the wholemeal sourdoughs. If you are on a special diet, Fresh also has you covered, selling a variety of non-dairy milks - almond, coconut, soy, rice - and gluten-free foods. On the other hand, if your food choices are more about buying fair trade or organic, locally sourced products, you can pick a slightly more expensive package of quinoa or some delicious sprouts from The Happy Pear here that won't weigh so much on your conscience. There are deals to be found here, especially on seasonal fruit as well as some wines. Additionally, there's an Insomnia café inside, a deli counter open during weekdays and a small but good magazine and newspapers stand.

I also wanted to see if they had creamer, that didn't work out as well either. But while I was in there, I could not believe my eyes. The bread, the food, the alcohol, the toys, etc. how much cheaper everything was! I was in there for about an hour and could not believe that here in America we spend so much more on food than what is really needed. The convenience of having so many grocery stores everywhere was also great. What was interesting is that you walk through a barrier with a security guard do your shopping, and then you go to an automated checkout. To walk out of the barrier you have to scan your receipt. It's pretty convenient and I see now here in America Safeway specially in some areas they have come to the same exact process. Well, I walked in there to get coffee, I ended up getting a baguette cheese, meat, cream, cream cheese, coffee, smoked salmon, and a few other items and let me tell you it was delicious. The workers there are not that friendly, and if you want to buy alcohol, you have to do it at 10:30 AM. The store was very clean compared to some stores here in America and there was a lot to choose from.

This LIDL is clean, decently stocked and nicely priced. The grab-and-go food was pretty well picked over this afternoon but I found a sandwich triangle as well as some candies (some of which might survive the journey and go into my suitcase home) and a very inexpensive bottle of sparkling water. You wouldn't do your whole grocery shop here, as you would be unlikely to get change out of €100, but it's great for those little added extras that will make your kitchen presses look all Nigella. Posh ready meals are its stock in trade, but it also has a huge amount of pre-prepared ingredients so you can say that you cooked it yourself.
