They ponce around as if they know more than Lance Armstrong or Chris Hoy put together. Peer disdainfully at your ride if it's not worth more than 4000 pounds. Actually, they would probably still frown upon a 8000 pound bike, because the front brake lever or some other component is not made out of carbon! So it would be okay then if the staff treated you with friendly honest service. They should all go on a trip to America and see the meaning of customer service! No gears, no brakes - not my kind of thing. But there's also a really good range of accessories like bike lights, saddles (genuine leather saddle for £65, it feels like wood!!) and an in-house workshop, where they try and fix things by the end of the day. And what a nice bunch of people run the shop as well, always happy to see a shop staffed by enthusiasts. I didn't buy anything. A quick response and a very friendly mail later they shipped a frame all went well. During the next year I have had several support question as the full-Suspension was new territory to me. but every time they where quick to respond and very informative. Right now I have the Suspension in for a Full-Service and with the help I received and the knowledge Bromley has displayed in the field of Mountain Bikes it was a easy choice to send the Suspension to them and let them handle the service. Yet another shocking experience from Evans Cycles. They've had my bike for five days and only go…read morethe repair it when I turn up to collect it. It was meant to be ready on Friday but I couldn't collect as I was off work. You think they'd have it ready three days later! Having been advised it would 'just take five minutes' I was still waiting ten minutes later. This is the second time in a row this branch have made me wait while they repair my bike, despite coming back for collection. Last time they rushed the repair and I had to bring it back two more times to be done again. What's the betting they rush this repair and I break down on the way home? Next time I'll be using The London Bicycle Company round the corner - they're a professional organisation. Further to my last review - to top it all off after they rushed my bike repair on the spot I pointed out to Evans Waterloo that this is when mistakes happen - queue - a problem with my gears on the way home; what a surprise! They had messed up the gears when replacing the back wheel inner tube and I was missing a gear. They made such a mess of re-repairing my bike last time I just got my husband to fix it this time. On my first interaction with Evans I really felt they couldn't organize a children's tea party let alone repair a bike. The only reason I returned this time was because I have an injured ankle and I couldn't walk far enough with a flat tire to get to the London Bicycle Company. This time Evans Waterloo really excelled themselves proving that they can't even repair a flat tire - nice work guys. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP - they're utter amateurs.

As a road specialist the store and its staff are very much geared up for giving you the best advice and support for road bikes. Whenever I've been in here it has always been busy, but the staff are very helpful when you get to speak with them, and are never in a rush to get rid of you and serve the next person. They finish with you when you are good and ready. The store is well laid out and there is room for wheeling in your bike.

I stopped into Apex cycles to see if they could affordably fix my back tire so that I could be on my trodden way and the staff here were so friendly, efficient and helpful I felt a little bit of sun right there in the Apex cycle shop! Not only did they fix my tire as quick as could be, they also helped me fix my brakes, for no extra charge, simply because they didn't want me to "have an accident out there". Wow, I'm not used to random people caring about others so it was very nice for a change to experience. They even helped me figure out why my bike lock was acting so strange (aka sometimes not letting me lock it). A little oil for the lock and a new tire tube, now my lock works great, my breaks are better adjusted then I could do myself and with paying for my new tire tube, I could happily be on my merry way! See I even forgot that it was raining outside! Sometime kindness can go a long way, I really appreciated their extra help and their reasonable price to fix my tire, they've definitely made me a fan and will be my go to place when I need some bike repairs and accessories!

Even though I had authorized a replacement of the shifter (£200), they were able to repair the existing part and included it in the overall servicing of my bike. They had me back training in one day. This is the second servicing for this bike (GT Grade 105). I've also had them service my Brompton. 5 stars for all work done!

The price, for both labour and cable, was also good at £8. More generally, this shop sells the usual range of bikes, though focusing more on bikes for the road than off-road. There are kids bikes. hybrids, some road bikes (and some rather nice accessories for the latter) and a couple of token-effort, psuedo-city bikes. The normal range of accessories, from puncture repair kits to fancy hydration and refuelling gels can be found here too. The service from the mechanic was friendly, offering to adjust the cable for free when it stretched a few days into use. I normally trek to Look Mum No Hands when I'm in search of quality service on my Dutch bike. But with this place right on my doorstep I suspect my trips eastwards will become rather less.

From fabulous cycle stickers, to boutique tire valve covers, this shop is a gift buying dream. This chap really knows what he's doing when it comes to cool. The minimal clutter separates this shop from other bike joints. The beautiful bikes are lined up in order of brand with a whole wall of quirky and unusual cycle helmets in the downstairs area. There is also a little workshop where they fit poorly bikes. How cool is that! It's a trek out if you don't live in the area but so worth it for the brilliant shopping experience. A small staff means that you know who's serving you and you'll see them on your next visit, as after the first time, for certain you'll be back. Now all I need to do is buy a bike!

I thought this shop was immaculate looking with all the single speed , mountains and hybrids lined beautifully. I was too busy eyeing up the pink and blue vintage styled ones... don't get me wrong I love my baby but silver ain't my favourite colour. Downstairs had more bicycles with all their quirky styled helmet, I mean I saw a MJ styled helmet and a lovely flowery pink one which they did not have in my size :(. It is also a repair shop downstairs as well. Upstairs with the bicycles are all the other cycle accessories from locks, bells, clothes, repair kits etc. I bought my baby new bell which said "I love my bike" for five pounds which a really good bell not like my bad excuse for a bell that came with my bicycle. I loved my shopping experience here, the friendly staff really know their stuff and gave me a free bag (with their logo on it), which I carry proudly around.

They also seem to have a decent selection of cycling accessories and some new and second hand bikes for sale. Took bike for a "light service" a few weeks later. They have different levels that are accurately described and have a clear pricing structure. I really liked this, since I knew that I just wanted simple things like brake and gear tightening. The light service was £30 which seemed reasonable for Islington. They were honest about things that needed to be replaced (new brake pads, which I knew anyway) but I liked that they didn't attempt to up sell me a more expensive service like other shops have.
