Tails: you'll search unproductively for 20 minutes and then leave empty handed. Very risky. This is a book outlet shop in Bridgend Designer Outlet, and is probably one of the more interesting shops in the precinct, if you ask me, which I guess you do. They usually have a good range of fiction and nonfiction books and cheap prices, but precisely because it's so cheap, you never quite know what they're going to have. Like with many book outlets, if you're into you fantasy, you'll most likely only be able to find books 2 and 3 in a series. Presumably people bought book 1 and didn't go back for the rest, which, you'd think, would be warning enough to stay away, but ho hum. At Christmas time this place can be really heaving. But it's always worth at least a quick gander. I assure you.

This is originally a Christian Bookshop, but they do sell other items that are not Christian related books, CD's, audio tapes, children's picture books, and children's fiction, they even sell children and babies bibles and other related baby items such as photo albums, etc... They often have cheap deals and offers on certain items. They do photo copying, sell DVD's, Fair-trade items, and the Woodlands ornaments. They also sell book tokens; gift cards, cards, and hand-made cards, posters for children's and classroom walls, plenty of bible study books and bibles of kinds, shapes and sizes. Above the counter they've got hand-crafted, dangly items, mostly animals like dragon flies; elephants, penguins, turtles, dinosaurs, and snails, often with bells added to them. They're £7. 99p, or £8. 99p each. The room has a TV; towards a right hand corner area of the room most of the time it plays a DVD of which you could possibly buy, price varies. There is also quiet frequently some classical or quiet Christian music playing in the background, trying to create a peaceful atmosphere. And it does. They're complimented on their taste in music, because they're the quietest shop, in the concourse, Heath Hospital, in Cardiff. They've sixty or so volunteers as staff apart from the Managers. The ground floor stocks all the usual cards, magaines,…read morestationery products that you would expect from this shop and the upstairs also has a large range of books both fiction and non fiction, however it also houses the local Post Office! I was taken by complete surprise when I went upstairs to buy a dictionary to find the Post Office taking over about half the floor space! As this is a main branch it offers a passport checking service and in case you haven't got your photo just right there is a very handy instant photo booth available. There is also a Travel Services office providing whatever currency you may need as well as a post box. I noticed that there is a lift to the first floor so no problems if you have mobility problems or a pushchair in tow. When I was there the post office was not too busy but I would imagine it could get pretty chaotic at Christmas time when you have shop and post office customers all jostiling for space.

This local games has long been one of the go-to hubs for second-hand games and collectables. You can find some good bargains in here however I myself would never trade anything in with them as, like most game stores, the price they offer you is a tiny fraction of the price they will attempt to sell it. For example I once asked how much they pay for standard Lego Mini-figures, they offered me 10p each, when they sold them at £1 each. This may be due to more local competition opening up. I can't imagine it's very easy for them with two large chains nearby Some of the staff here are quite friendly while others can come across as quite rude. It depends who serves you and probably how much you are spending.

When you see it outside, it looks like your standard shop, but when you walk in, a wonderland of geekness is what you are behold. I was just there for the games, and I walked out with a nice little collection of games which U was pleased about. I will definitely be going back there when we go back to Weston, and I encourage anyone else in the Weston area to check it out. It's just down a road from the coast.

Everything is laid out so nicely too in a very eye-catching way with unusual curved display racks going down the centre of the floor space. In addition to papers and mags, there are plenty of local books, stationery (including school/college items), and, around the corner at the back, good quality greetings cards.
