I have one who has always been very nervous but still enjoys going to see Tracey who provides excellent personalised service to each dog I only have to mention the word Tracey and the dogs are at the front door waiting to go. Tracey has a way with the dogs that i have never seen in a groomer before and would highly recommend her salon for all pampered pooches. She phoned me when the sack arrive. Nothing to to much hasstle. Friendly informative and welcomes pets inside the shop. The store also sells livestock but the shop kepper will only sell to you if you suitable knowledge and are perpared to look after the animal etc. The only negitives i can think of are i found some items were a little more expensive in the shop that in larger pet shops but worth paying more for the advice i recieved.

Trophy Pet Foods are open until 6pm each week night so its handy to call in on my way home from work and they are also open at the weekend.

This pet shop specialises in fish and the people in front of me in the queue were buying lots of fish and plants for their fish-tanks and I felt like they resented me being in their way. This shop sells everything you need for pet care but they do not have a large range of products and I was not keen on the way the shop was set out, I had to walk around the shop a few times to find what I was looking for.

They stick to products they believe in which makes me feel confident when buying things for my dog. You can find pretty much anything at Animal Fayre. Don't know what the previous comment was about with regards to having to "walk around the shop a few times". The shop is small, so trying to find something isn't really an issue at all. The customer service is impeccable each time!

It might seem incongruous at first as it is situated in a huge Georgian buolding that once stood in it's own quiet grounds, the essence of graciousness. Now it is redolent with squeaks and chirps and bubbling of water tanks. Set over several floors, there is a good supply of just about anything you might need for domestic pets - food, bedding, cages, toys, treats. It is always fascinating to watch the many different small fish swimming in their tanks, and upstairs on the first floor you can see small rodent type pets for sale - hamsters, mice, guinea-pigs. Small children love to watch the little creatures as they await a good new home. In fact, there is so much packed in that the customer floor space for humans, especially around the main tills, is rather limited and narrow and often involves a bit of a shuffle. The assistants are always very busy and helpful, but for I sometimes wish they could wear more distinctive 'team tops' as I've almost mistakenly asked customers for advice in the past, believing they worked there! All-round though an excellent store for all your domestic animal supplies.

Firstly, I couldn't believe how difficult it was to find a local(ish) pet cremation service which would take her it's not like anyone plans that sort of thing and you don't want your dead pet sitting around at home for long so I was surprised that we couldn't find anywhere to do it the same day! Anyway after a couple of hours searching we found here. The person my partner dealt with was very polite and understanding, and agreed to fit her in that afternoon. When we arrived (although I was still balling my eyes out), the man there was very patient with us and calm, they had a good selection of urns and plaques to choose from and a small room at the side of the building to say your final goodbyes. Once you finish in that room, you leave your pet in there and the worker gets them from a side door so you don't see them being removed. I felt that the price was very reasonable too for her to be cremated, put in a handmade wooden urn and get a plaque it cost just over £100, which I didn't mind paying at all for the peace of mind that it was definitely her in the urn and not a mix of lots of animals/waste. A certificate confirmed this. It took less than an hour to do and overall we were treated with respect, understanding and patience which was very much appreciated as I was pretty much inconsolable that day!

The large, gracious building stands on the Garston/Portway Corner and is easily accissible both on foot and by car. There is a large private car park at the rear of the house so no problems with transporting your furry friend from car to door. The practice has a large small-pets service and runs daily clinics (ring to check for opening times and morning/evening clinic sessions). They perform in-house surgery and dentistry and hospitalisation wards, and you can even arrange to visit your pet whilst it recovers. They also promise 24 hour care, and there is always sometone to ask for advice. I have used their service in the past to enquire about a minor problem with one of my pets and they were very helpful and sympathetic and professional. They will always prefer you to bring the animal in, of course, as it's a lot harder to diagnose an animal over the phone than a human! This being a rural, agricultural area, they also have a large Farm Animal practise based out of Frome. Plus they are often mentioned treating the more exotic animals at nearby Longleat. The practice also has branches at Warminster, Trowbridge, and a specialist Equine practice at Bradford on Avon. I found them to be very efficient, competent and helpful when my own domestic furry friends have occasionally been unwell, and this is a very substantial and valuable service for the community.
