I thought all the dinosaurs were super impressive and love how they setup the whole walking trail. There is a ton of shade, so even if you go when it's super hot you'll be fine! I appreciate all the ferns that they planted around, makes it feel "authentic" with all the dinos. For my dino obsessed five year old he loved seeing all the variety of dinosaurs and even some more obscure ones that he knew and you never see at spots like this. They did a great job of putting some dinosaurs into "scenes" and simply showcasing others with facts and more info. My son isn't into splash pads, but that splash pad looked like a ton of fun. The climbing area was also huge and looked like fun. My five year old stuck to walking around and going through the maze 15 times. The maze is simple, but fun and a nice addition to the park. What I like about this park is it's great for kids of all ages! Probably from at least 3-10 and even older if your child is super into dinosaurs or you are an adult who loves dinos!

They had so many things to keep the kids preoccupied and the ability to get their energy out. They didn't want to leave! The only complaint that I have is for the arcade area. All games were 7 or 8 credits. Minimum card option is for 20 credits so there aren't enough credits for a minimum of 3 games. They should adjust the credit minimum to 21. It's typical set up. So what you'll get at other facilities, you'll get here. The facility is AMAZING!!! There is so many things to crawl through, run around, stairs and slides, basketball courts to have little games. Two personal size trampolines that's one jumper at a time. That can be an issue if they don't have a timer for it and the line gets long. I didn't see a long line because the kids would leave and play around the whole facility. They had a small gaming room that I did t check out but I can only assume it's like other arcade spots. Only a bit smaller section. They had this one area that you can be on the second floor and launch balls down to the ground floor with a bit of force to make it fun and give you the illusion that you have a powerful gun. You can throw those balls around and hit each other, they were soft. In the middle of that room there's an apparatus that blows air up and makes these balls float and come out of the top of a 4 foot tube. Again, it's cool for 2-7 year olds. Maybe even 8-9 Yr olds would have fun in this room. This place is really big. You can't keep an eye out on your child. That's how many tunnels they are and how fast the kids can come through there that you'll lose your eyes on them. If you're the parent that needs to keep an eye on your child 100% of the tiMe, get socks and join in on the fun with them cause from the ground you will not be able to do it. They have a toddler section. A small version that they can easily have fun there too. NOW.... As for the 3 stars... I couldn't give more but if they fix this one section or gap in their business this place can be a 4.5 to 5 star facility. The tops of the slides: DUSTY. Needs a cleaning. And WEEKLY too! NOT monthly. The staffing!! The staff was very very short. The line at the concession stand was too long and the wait was insane, especially for a place that was starting to get full. I went on a Saturday around 11am... that's PRIME! TIME!! That's when you would have a FULL STAFF! Two staff at the concession stand, two staff setting up the party rooms, two in the front, two roaming the play area. .... That's just for the weekend staffing. Weekday, knock it down to ONE or less in all the areas that I listed. But it gets better and this is the ending. As we were in the front. One of the staff that was there happen to have a relative that she hasn't seen in a long time. I know this by her reaction and by what she said and how her convo went. She said, "when did you get in motherfu&!3r?!" Loud and clear. My wife said that shortly after she said, "my bad for my language".... Umm too late sweet pea. Thank God my son didn't hear that. I would have been upset if I had to explain to him that's not a word you use. So that was our intro to this place. Not a good start. Would I return? She originally founded Kidcity as a homegrown non-profit organization in 1994 in attempt to make Middletown a more desirable place for families with young children. The circa 1835 historic Camp-Sterns House was donated by St. Sebastian's Church after the building retired from a 70-year career as their convent. The City of Middletown donated a portion of a public parking lot as a new site for the house. In March 1997, the old house moved 400 feet down Washington Street. Extensive renovations were done to the house and permanent hands-on exhibits were created by local artist Ted Esselstyn. The museum opened to the public the following year. The museum doubled in size in 2003 when a new addition was put on. My family and I have visited Kidcity a number of times since my wife and I began having children. We've been to a lot of children's museums over the years, but we think that Kidcity is easily the best one in Connecticut. Not only do our two sons have a lot of fun, but also my wife and me! Our most recent visit was this past August. There are so many different rooms and exhibits for children to engage in pretend play. Some of the rooms include The Ship, The Farm, Main Street, Video Theater, Space Age Roadtrip, and The Cornfield. There's even the Toddler Sea Caves on the basement level that our younger son enjoyed exploring. We usually end up staying for at least two hours, but I'm sure that our two boys could be engaged there for much longer.
