A lot of menu items out of stock and took a while to receive food/drinks as only 1 person serving drinks/working food. Nevertheless, very nice and accommodating staff. Instructions were kinda quicker than what I'd hope for, giving more time to work on each portion would be a minor critique but given the time slot it's under stable there are timing restraints. What a fun way to spend an afternoon. Came here to kill some time and do something chill totally non-work related while in town. So glad I did. You can order whatever you want to drink, snacks, food, and they had some really good popcorn! The best part, of course, was the painting. Jen was our instructor - great energy, patient, and clearly good at this job. I have absolutely zero artistic ability and I had no idea how to make any of this work, but she made it fun, accessible, offered one-on-one feedback if you wanted it, or left you alone if you wanted to be left alone. I was around West Hartford for the weekend and I always want to try a paint class. I was interested in painting the Cosmic Treetops. Parking in West Hartford on a Saturday is always an adventure but we got lucky today and found a spot near by. Just make sure you got some coins or a visa or Mastercard to pay for the kiosk. The event is about 90 mins so expect to spend about $6 for street parking. Inside the event is pretty spacious. There is a bunch of art on the wall for sale and there is a section to order snacks and drinks. The food was a bit expensive but it tasted good. The employees at the establishment were kind and friendly. They were also experienced painters and walk around and help guide you while you paint. You are also able to create a group and sit with your friends and family. At the event, our instructor was Jen. She was great and full of energy. If you're a newbie or an experienced painter, she made it easy to follow. She ask what you like and don't like about your painting and give you suggestions on what to do next. Overall it was a great experience and will do this again. It was fun to see everyone take on the painting. Fun activity to do with your friends, partner and love ones. It was an amazing experience for sure! All the instructors are amazing! This is my 3rd visit this year, first was with Elites, 2nd with my daughter earlier this month and 3rd for my daughter's birthday. It truly is for all ages. I was not able to take photos of the food as the tweens had hands in it before I took a photo. There's no waiting for them. Lol. We had boneless chicken bites, mini corn dogs, brownies and some mocktails. I got those because it's easier for eat with forks while your hands have paint. There is a QR code on each easel to order on mobile or order from the bar, regardless they'll bring the food over to your table. You can open a tab too and close at the end of the session. I can't say for certain if each instructor has a different technique of teaching, although it usually is. No matter, everyone had a great time and everyone went home with a piece of art they can call their own. At the end of the session, they recommend you to leave all paint on the table to avoid any spills on anyone's clothes. Ahh, speaking of clothes. They do have a solution they mention at the beginning that can get paint off and it must be done in haste. If you are a seasoned painter, there is a possibility of paint getting on your clothes so keep those nice outfits at home. This is also mentioned upon booking. My niece sat next to me and she's not painted before. Her brush was saturated with paint and as she reached the edge, she was flicking it harshly and splatted on my blazer. It was this dot that you may never notice since it's colorful and filled with flowers. Must you wear something nice, bring a T-shirt to wear over it, then the apron they have in the studio. My wife and I went to Muse to experience what they had to offer after going to several other painting experiences which we enjoyed. I am not a novice. This was NOT a good experience. The class was overcrowded; the painting demonstration was inadequate AND RUSHED! With the room full of people they needed more than 1 person demoing the painting steps, and at least 1 active person going around to help people or at least ask if you are okay or need help. I had to ask the women behind the bar for guidance several times as help was not readily available. Again, so rushed! At the end, as I was trying to catch up, they said that we had to leave because another class was coming in. I was so frustrated, I converted my ridiculous painting into something fun and artful of my own design (Something I could have done at home for almost free) and left. Unfortunately, "My Art" did not dry completely and got on my new jacket ;-( Moral of story, go somewhere else where they know how to do it right. I hope this helps! read more

We went there for a work team building event... and I had no expectations. If anything I was a little nervous about the painting piece. This is a neat space where your senses immediately get captured by the art and paint everywhere! Colorful and vibrant. They set up based in the size of your party. They also have a private room and you can opt to order food and drink in advance. We had drink tickets which covered beer, wine, and soft drinks. We got chips with guacamole and salsa and an assortment of popcorn. Our 'muse' or art teacher was Anna - she was great! I have been going to Muse for years. I will not be back after this weekend. I took my 5 year old daughter for a paint session. This was her third or fourth session. We enjoyed our time painting and her teacher was kind. I took a little longer and when we finished, we were the only patrons left. My daughter went into the bathroom to clean up and I was outside the bathroom looking at the art. While I was standing there, I heard the staff talking about my daughter. One of them called her "a pain in the ass". Who trash talks a 5 year old? Luckily my daughter didn't hear. I sent an email to the establishment about what happened because I found it to be unacceptable and hurtful. They escalating to a manger. Their response? I must have misheard because this woman is allegedly good with kids. I can't believe they are dismissing my experience and what I know I heard. There is something truly therapeutic and all it takes is 5 dollops of paint. The premier art and wine experience...Doesn't matter if you have absolutely no artistic skills or your out to paint a masterpiece...It's a perfect venue for a fun night with the girls or even better with your better-half (these can be hung side by side to make one complete picture).... it's the most fun 3 hours you'll spend and at the end of it all you get to take home something that you can be proud off (makes a good gift as well). I painted the Elizabeth rose garden and was very happy with how it turned out... the instructions are step by step and easy to follow... the instructors are patient and give you sufficient time without feeling rushed, they even help you fix your painting if your having trouble... it a wonderful experience.. and I've done 3 so far. I came here for a work outing. I think it's a great option for team building, at least in the sense that it's a casual spot and sells alcohol. You'll have to do a little bit of research on their site, but I recommend it - some of the designs are a lot more interesting than others. The one we did for the team building was pretty generic and uninteresting. Though, at the same time, you can diverge without being frowned upon, which I appreciate. Nice big space. One word...FUN!! We went to Muse for a girls night out, some of us having artistic talent, while others of us (like me) cringe at having to draw a stick figure. But we were all in it together, started with some adult beverages at Cuvée, and headed over to Muse to create our masterpieces! Muse is nestled in the small strip of stores in the small lot behind REI and the Cheesecake Factory. If you blink, you would miss it. You can try for parking in the small lot, but if you can't get a spot (there are not many), Then I would recommend parking in the Isham garage. It is a close walk to Muse from there. You will be there for at least 2.5 hours and you don't want to get a ticket or be running out to feed the meter. They ticket until 10 pm in West Hartford (Mon - Sat), so the garage is the safest bet for convenience and ensuring you don't find a ticket on your car at the end of the night. We booked the private room, which meant we got our own instructor and we were able to pick one painting of our choice (rather than painting what was on the schedule in the main room). We also had a table where we could set up snacks, we just were not allowed to bring drinks. Muse has an adequate bar with some wine and beer selections, they also had some food. The reality is once you start painting you don't have a lot of time to eat or drink, nor do you have a lot of space to keep stuff at your work station. My wine ended up on the floor so that I didn't accidentally dip my paint brush in it. The major drawback is space...or lack thereof. It is VERY cramped and in our private room, you couldn't walk around (say, to get to the bathroom or our food table) without people having to get up from their stations. It was nice to be all in the same space but just was a bit of an annoyance. You didn't have a lot of room for your water, paint and brushes, so I kept getting paint on myself. TIP: Do not wear something nice!!! You will most likely get paint on yourself!! Yes, they have aprons but they don't cover your whole outfit and you don't want to ruin something nice with paint. Especially sleeves...I would say sleeveless or as close as possible to sleeveless would be ideal for painting. The actual painting class was so much fun. They really give you all of the materials you need and simplify the painting so that even someone who is afraid to draw stick figures can handle it. Our instructor was so much fun! The hardest part was mixing colors, for our painting (Starry Night) we had to mix several different colors of blue and I mixed one of mine too dark so it looked almost black. Oops. But other than that, I didn't think my painting was awful and I had a ton of fun creating it. I know they do painting nights at various bars in the area, and I haven't tried those, but the thing I liked about Muse is that this is the space's dedicated purpose. There are utility sinks, and there is paint on the floor, tables and walls. You can get paint on the bathroom door and you don't feel like you're trashing the place. Clearly you can tell I made a mess, so I'm glad I wasn't at a regular restaurant on paint night, I would be banned for life due to getting blue paint on every possible surface!! Muse would be great for a girls night, team building or even date night. But it was mostly ladies so if you're going to drag your significant other there, make sure he's prepared! And be sure to pick a painting that matches a room in your house because you are going to be so proud of your creation that you'll want to rush right home to hang it up!! read more

My boyfriend and I had a great time at Muse Paintbar in WeHa last night! Our instructor Mina was so friendly and was very articulate when giving directions on what to do. She even came around several times to help anyone who needs it. There was another girl that would come around with extra paint, which was great as well. The food and drinks are definitely pricy ($36 for bottle of Pinot Noir - oy!). We didn't order any food since we already ate before, but it's definitely a small menu with a few snack-y plates. A lot of people were ordering and seemed to be enjoying themselves. This Muse Paintbar is in a fabulous location! I totally love Muse. I've probably been here like 12 times with my first time being my very first Elite event! The place is staffed with the most personable, funny, energetic and patient people ever! The instructor tells you line by line what to do so it's almost impossible to make your painting look bad unless you completely go rogue. It's pricey to paint but well worth it and you get a piece that your not embarrassed to hang in your home. There is also a nice selection of wine and beer and some light snacks which I almost always partake in. I would come back like 100 times but I would run out of room to put my paintings! They provide all of the materials and do all of the clean up for you. They also are very generous and go around refilling your paint supply whenever it is needed. They had like 5 different IPAs but not much else in the way of local craft offerings. When I went back for my third beer, they were out of that selection. I need three beers to paint. What a fun way to spend an evening! Muse Paintbar is tucked away in a corner of Blue Back Square kind of behind the Cheesecake Factory. Here's how it works: You go to their website and make a reservation for the evening you're interested in. It costs $35, which includes your art lesson and your materials. Everyone gets an easel, a canvas, paint, and brushes. The instructor shows you the painting you're going to copy, and then walks you through it step-by-step, breaking it down so it's easy to follow. Within about three hours, which flie by, you have a painting to take home. It's a really fun time for people who don't take themselves too seriously. If you don't stress over your finished product, you're able to relax and just enjoy painting. The instructor was sure to tell us all that there would be no mistakes, just "happy accidents." The painting on the night I went was a funky tree on an orange background, which was cool because they taught us how to fade the background so the outside was a much darker orange than the yellow center. If you look at the calendar on their web site, you can see which painting is scheduled for which evening, and they have a session every night of the week. You can also use this venue for private parties for adults and children. It's called a Paintbar, by the way, because there is a menu with a selection of wines and beers, as well as munchies to keep your energy up while you create. I can't vouch for the food, since I didn't eat any that night, but next time I go I plan to try the chili. If you go, try to remember to wear something you wouldn't mind getting a little messy. It's paint, after all. But they're prepared for that too, and they have some magic soap that does a great job getting paint out of sweaters. Don't ask how I found that out... ;) I can't wait to go back! $35 is a totally reasonable price for a few hours of fun plus a finished project, which is now hanging in my office. Muse Paintbar & Eatery has the great idea of being both a place to paint and a place to eat, but its brush strokes aren't that careful and well-done. The space itself is small, with tables stuffed on top of one another. If it's busy with a number of people attending an event, you'll undoubtedly be dodging people--some with food, some with drinks--when you need to get around the room. My friend and I had to patiently ambulate around the room when washing brushes and getting fresh water. Seating is assigned, and the supplies themselves are not the highest in quality. Additionally, there are few options for food at this supposed eatery. There are limited choices for meals and drinks. It's only beer and wine; there are no mixed drinks unless you count mimosas. Everything is somewhat steep in price, and you're almost pressured to tip on it all, including a bottle of water. The duration of the events seems longer than necessary. For our event, two and a half hours did not seem warranted, and part of the ending/finishing of the painting was rushed to meet the time limit since it didn't begin on time and longer breaks than necessary were taken in the middle. The instructions at the beginning of the event--including depiction of brushes and canvas types--are longer than necessary, as well. The instructors of the event my friend and I went to, unfortunately, were none too friendly or overly pleasant. Her instructions were not very clear, as she went by the color of the brushes to tell us which to use and the same colors were used in the painting. I mixed up the colors several times and had to redo them again. Muse gets two stars solely because it's situated in a good location; it has a set calendar online; and it can accommodate a private event in which you can pick the painting. Otherwise, this paint-"bar & eatery" remains an unfinished masterpiece. read more

Most recently, my mom and I spent some quality time together and did a paint night - it was her first paint and sip and she had a blast! The snacks and drinks were great and more affordable than I had expected and we both loved how our pieces came out. I think our instructors name was Kate (Katie?) - she was GREAT!
