Rob made my daughter's wedding/reception so elegant and beautiful more than we could have ever imagined. Everything was absolutely stunning! The quality of the flowers were so vibrant and glamorous beyond breathtaking! Just astonishing!!! Rob puts his heart and soul into every flower arrangement. He has a gift for creativity!! We are honored that he shared that special gift with us. I cried when I saw the ballroom at Hotel Zaza ...I was speechless ... It blew me away. Everything was perfect!! Rob. Is. The. Best. I never do Yelp reviews, but he made my wedding so magical, I can't not write a review. Rob was a delight to work with, and weeks after my wedding, people who I haven't heard from in ages have reached out to me to let me know how beautiful the wedding was. And that is thanks to Rob! His design is and was STUNNING. He listened to what I wanted both my reception and my ceremony to look like and to feel like...and it was better than I ever could have imagined. I could write an essay about an essay about what an amazing job Rob did: his execution, his talent, his style, his...did I say talent already? As one of the previous reviews mentioned, he was respectful of my budget, which given the size of our event space (football field-sized warehouse) was no easy task! As a bride to be - I have been meeting up with several florists who were prompt , professional and respectful. Unfortunately Rob wasn't one of them. After confirming my appointment with his secretary Dora 3 weeks prior to our visit to Houston, and as per her words " Rob will do this appointment to accommodate your special request" as we only come to Houston on the weekends and that's when we meet vendors for our summer 2012 wedding. After driving from Dallas , excited to our first florist appointment with Events in Bloom on Oct 29th .... NO ONE was there - Rob didn't even have the courtesy to apologize By email or phone that he will not show up to his FIRST consultation appointment with new clients. WHAT a disastrous service. I have heard how bad his communication skills are not up to standards but never would imagine that a man with his success will treat his future clients in such an ignorant manner. To top it all, a week later I met Rob at the Corinthian Tea & tour where he was selling his one of a kind designs , and when I told him that he missed my appointment he said " Saturdays are hard" !!! This guy is hit or miss, obviously, from his ratings. You are gambling if you hire him. -- I got a call from Rob, owner of Events n Bloom about a negative rating I left for him, here on Yelp. I happened to be over seas, when I took the call. I could not talk then, but told him I would follow up with him, upon my return to Houston. In the meantime he called my daughter, the bride, and asked her if she would talk to me and ask me to please remove my yelp review as he depends on good reviews for his business. Say, Whaaaat? Normally, I'm a person who will research fairly extensively when selecting any type of service provider. However, I decided to get married with a 6 week turnaround, so I used a florist that was on the location recommendation list and I am ever thankful Events In Bloom was on that list. From the moment, I reached out to them stating my request, I was treated with the utmost professional level of service and there was no judgement of my timeline or small scale of project. Beyond that the flowers completely exceeded my expectation! They were beautiful and filled the room with the most amazing scent, that will always take me back to our special day anytime I smell them in the future. This is one of the hardest vendors to have. Flowers cost more than you think and if you want them,especially done really well, that's the bottom line. As you'll read, Rob has a lot of five star reviews - with myself being the latest. That's because his work is outstanding without question. I was married in a large space that could be hard to decorate on a budget and Rob made that happen. I liked that EIB also doesn't just do flowers - it had my tablecloths -and nearly all my other rentals (unique tables, decorations, etc) which gave our wedding a personalized touch and brought the vision true. Also because he has so many great different types of things, I saved the hassle of having to deal with (and pay delivery fees on) too many different vendors. He provides mockups of his ideas, floor designs, etc. He took a considerable time with me. In the not so great reviews below, there's a few themes and I'm going to touch on these because I think there is some misunderstanding on the client part. Some things I had to learn. First, Rob is not just a florist - he's a designer. Therefore he's going to recommend what he thinks creates the vision and it's up to you to decide if you like that, want to add to it or takeaway. You communicate a budget, his first proposal will likely be well over that but that's only to show you all possibilities and then decide what to keep or subtract. Believe me, I got to my number and was surprised when I saw the full vision from Rob, how when my ideas from Pinterest were all put together and laid out with Robs, some places where I thought I really wanted to allocate money - I didn't. It's really hard to have these conversations and revelations if you tell him exactly what to do and don't let him design -- to discuss it. Secondly, you can have multiple meetings but they need to be scheduled. He's either busy with clients in store, at and event or designing. All I have to say is that my wedding was so amazing thanks to EIB and Rob! The flowers were to die for. It was more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed of. We had our wedding at Lakeside Country Club and we used Sydney with Keely Thorne as my wedding planner. Between Sydney and Rob they grasped my concept and style perfectly. Flowers at the church were amazing, the bouquets were beautiful, the reception was amazing. We used some of his oval unfinished wood tables and they looked amazing. It was the most wonderful night. Money well spent in my opinion. Right before the wedding I had a co-worker tell me that it won't turn out like you expected. With Rob's team, she was so wrong, it was more beautiful than I could have ever asked for. Our friends still make comments about how beautiful it was 6 months later. I would recommend EIB to a bride looks for a breathtaking wedding. I know there are some negative reviews on Yelp but my experience was wonderful. I think my experience was better than some because I used EIB through an event coordinator and we knew we wanted a lot of flowers. If you are trying to save on floral then you might want to look elsewhere. Rob's designs are typically elaborate and grand. Just depends on what you like. read more

I chose Rob for my daughter's wedding for a couple of reasons. He did my other daughter's wedding and the flowers were beautiful, and he was on the preferred list of the venue. In our first wedding, he didn't do the extra bridal bouquet as he had said but thought it was just an honest mistake. This time, however, the experience was not a good one. It took 3 months to pin him down on our budget, and in the first budgetary meeting we opted to use some of his linens and tables for the head table. In our next meeting, we decided not to use the linens as we got a better price plus choices from another vendor, but we still discussed the use of his tables. When I got the invoice to pay, I noticed there was no charge for the tables so a call was made and we were told if we weren't using his linens then we couldn't rent his tables. I was quite surprised as he hadn't mentioned this earlier. We, also, changed the number of tables down 1 and I had already made the final payment but was told he would do something extra for the head tables and I requested instead to have an arrangement for the entry table. His assistant, Ashley, was also difficult to work with. The day of the wedding there were lots of things that were wrong. There was no arrangement for the entry table, nothing extra on the head table either. AND, MOST importantly - the bridal bouquet was supposed to be in a cascade fashion and it was NOT! Yet again, a throwaway bouquet was promised but none there. The mother's bouquets were incorrect as well, only one was the way it was supposed to be. We had flower girl halos and they were wrong, they were supposed to be lavender and white spray roses and what we got were some awful looking floppy purple flowers which didn't hold up well at all. I spoke with the guys who were setting up and inquired about the entry table arrangement and then they called their boss and said no arrangement so I said then I needed my money returned, I have waited 2 1/2 weeks to post this review and still no refund. read more

Rob & his team are incredibly unprofessional, have poor customer service & do not provide what you ask for. I met Rob a few months prior to our wedding & chose him based on his previous work & showroom. That was my first & last meeting & conversation with him. Rob had agreed to work with my cousin who has a great deal of experience in decorating, this way I can focus on other aspects of the wedding. Communication was extremely poor! He spoke with our wedding planner to work out details, never my cousin or myself. Even towards the end when we were clearly unhappy, No phone call or email AT ALL to apologize. We NEVER got mock ups of anything. We had a very simple idea for our wedding ceremony & gave him a picture. In the end he ruined the decor for the ceremony. I specifically said not to use ribbon which he did (he suggested it on our initial meeting) used an over abundance of cheap green foliage instead of the white flowers we asked for (and were in the picture) it was obvious he had zero input in the wedding decor. It looked like someone else on his team was given the job & had no idea of the specifics we asked for. We gave him a picture of what we wanted our halo above the ceremony to look like & it looked NOTHING like what we asked for. He also decided that in the 10,000 square foot ballroom he was going to use the area directly behind our ceremony area to store furniture!! Yes, he used sheer draping to cover it but it was obvious to everyone there was furniture back there!! I've never been to a wedding where the decorator actually used the unused space where the ceremony was taking place to store furniture!! When you are spending this kind of money & see that Rob is capable of executing beautiful decor you wouldn't think that someone could do such a horrible job. We were honestly shocked & how bad the wedding decor was, unfortunately so was my family . The reception decor was nothing like the wedding & actually looked beautiful. But it was NOT exactly what we wanted. Again if we had gotten a mock up (which I had asked for) we could have avoided some of these issues. We spent thousands of dollars, over $35,000 on just decor & we were not asking for anything over the top. I still look @ my wedding pictures & cringe & the tacky orange carnations, cheap green foliage & the multitude of errors. If you can't provide what the customer wants then speak up!! Don't substitute & not mention anything. Again, it's not worth the risk choosing Rob. You may get lucky & actually get his undivided attention & he may do a good job. Or he will take your business & have his team do the work without any creativity, finesse, or attention to detail. read more
