After attending so many events here, I can't believe I never actually wrote about it! The…read moreBolingbrook Golf Club is THE premiere venue for any big events in Bolingbrook. They work really well with all the different non-profits as well as the Chamber. The Nest is a great restaurant located downstairs and the event space is located upstairs, accessible through the other side of the golf course. The food is delicious considering it's banquet food and I feel like I always end up getting something different even though I've attended so many events and functions here. I appreciate the chefs constantly making sure that the menu is refreshed and it's not redundant. The staff here is great and the venue is clean. I am grateful to have the Golf club in town!

There was a tent with security but no one stopped us or checked our tickets or anything. Once we made it to the VIP area, everything was easy to navigate and the sound from the stage was awesome. The concert itself was great. A few of the booths closed earlier than expected, which was a bit of a bummer, but overall, as a concert venue, it was a pretty solid experience. Was cool that they showed the tourney on the stage screen before the music act went live.

Facilities & Staff: Pro shop is tiny and the #bro working in there was nice...a little to sarcastic for my liking, but nice. They Rangers and cart girl were also all friendly. They have ok practices areas with a putting green. Chipping area and a range. I Got a bucket to warm up on their range which is pretty far from the pro shop if you were walking. Range itself is nothing to get excited about just somewhere to warm up. No distance markers, just flags and a barn I pelted a couple times. Carts are very slow and the first one I grabbed had gas spilled all over the floorboard...I'm a smoker and that could been bad if I didn't catch it. Course & Gameplay: Started my round solo which was nice of the starters to let me try and play a round alone. Played the first 3 holes of blue like a champ the I got paired with a threesome of slow playing, long talking, senseless schmucks which totally killed my round. The blue course is a reasonably good challenge and nice to play. We had 30mph winds when I played which made every low iron shot a doozy. Made the turn to the white course after 2.5 on the front 9 with no one holding us up. Played 4 holes on the back nine and called it a day and drove off the course after realizing that I was stuck in golfers purgatory with a bunch of hacks that thought they were good and the last 4 holes would take over an hour, didn't want to let my frustration swings set me back before the end of the season either. Course was in overall good shape, the greens & fairways are ok, the rough was very manageable. The only bad thing they had going were their traps that were rock solid. Would i play here again? Maybe...

Finished the first 9 Blue course in 2 hours everything went smooth got to the back nine on the Red course and there was 6 groups deep ahead of us all twilight just starting. Looked at the starter and they just said oh well. Needless to say 3 holes on the back nine were finished. When you offer such cheap twilight rates you still have to know how to manage the course for the guests who pay full price. I play at courses all over Chicago and have never experienced this and anyone you speak too would just say o well. Course was well kept and would have definitely returned.

She promptly seated me, provided recommendations, made sure I could use my $10 off voucher, made sure the food came out in a timely manner, made the appropriate amount of conversation and promptly provided my bill. The interior of the lounge is amazing and I would like to have a wedding reception or graduation party or some special occasion. Food (B) I got the lamb kofta. Great idea but the lamb was a bit dry and the "heat" was a bit too much and didn't integrate into the dish. The portion size was a bit small also. (It was a small plate). But the presentation was excellent. I feel like this dish is a work in progress and could be better with some tweaks. Value (E) It's super expensive here and for that reason I will not be going back. I did use a $10 voucher and my total bill was $14 including tip and tax. Which I felt was a fair price, but no way would I pay $20-$24 for that item. The other menu items are also super expensive. My perspective is that it was super expensive to build out and the management team is using a cost plus model for pricing vs what the market can bear. Also the website has a few menus so it is confusing to know which one you will get. I let things play out with the staff but I wanted the burger that was on the online menu but I was presented the more expensive and different menu. It's confusing Overall (C) This was a tough review for me to write since this place has so much potential but they are not executing properly and the owners love for his daughter is resonating. Unfortunately i think that Megs lounge is going to fail. The prices are way too expensive, like by a factor of 2X or 3x, it is confusing to find, not enough marketing or promotions to get people in the door, etc My recommendation for management is to 1. Dramatically lower prices, 2. Create some type of consistent identity to the menu, 3. Do a much better job marketing by creating a strong social media strategy and better promotions. This place has potential but feels like an owners first attempt and pet project.
