The business Brilliant Events has unfortunatly catered to this terrible experience and for that reason I wish to share my unsettling experience so no other individuals have to go through similar events. To start off, I searched for a wedding planner on Thumbtack and Brilliant Events was one of many event planning business that touched base with me. Nicole Britt was the contact for them, and it was my understanding that she was also in part, the business owner. Things in the beginning went great. We met for coffee and just got to know one another, what we were looking for in a wedding/event planner, what we already had planned or what we were seeking to essentially figure out if Nicole Britt and her business Brilliant Events would be a good fit for the both of us. We determined very quickly that it was a perfect match up. We already had all of our venders in order, we already had the venue booked, the dress purchased; we really only needed a wedding planner to help set up and tear down day of, someone to ping pong design ideas off of, someone to keep our timeline on track, and possible some decor ideas/materials. Nicole let us know that any and all materials she had available from all the other events/weddings she has done was ready available at our discretion. She let us know that whatever she didn't have she would be willing to go half with us so she could keep them for future weddings/events for her business. We signed the contract and began the planning. We then quickly realized that things were not going as planned. We only met a few times, however Nicole never remembered any of our wedding details when we did meet. I continually had to keep e-mailing her back and forth things that we had already discussed or what we even wanted. She continually tried pressuring us into changing our vendors and even our venue. She let us know that she could get us a great discount if we used the people/places she recommended and even let is slip that she herself got a kickback for the referral. We had a face to face meeting and finally got to where we were on the same page again. We communicated back and forth and then hit another bump in the road with having additional people help her set up and tear down. Her idea was recruiting her family, her husband and her children to help with the wedding. I was uncomfortable with this and expressed that with Nicole. After this, our communication lines went cold. Weeks went by and I had heard nothing from Nicole. I reached out to Brilliant Events even, trying to reach Nicole Britt so we could continue our planning. But I got nothing. I then got a certified letter in the mail that she had canceled out contract and backed out of our arrangement. She of course kept our deposit and all the money we had given her upfront for any expenses she may have needed on behalf of us. The only reason I heard back from Nicole and Brilliant Events was because I threatened legal action. Her reason for canceling our contract was because "we broke her contract" yet we had our lawyer take a look at our contract and our e-mails back and forth and he said she and her business Brilliant Events unlawfully canceled our contract and essentially embezzled our money. She later said that she was too busy with "other events" and her feelings got hurt that we weren't considerate enough to allow her to not get away with not doing some of her services she initially offered up. She then tried to talk us into signing a new contract and even asked for more money in order for her to continue planning our wedding. Mind you this was only 2 months before our actual wedding. This whole experience has been a nightmare. Please DO NOT USE BRILLIANT EVENTS or NICOLE BRITT for any event planning. She is a scam and so is the business she owns/operates/works for.

Bretta went above and beyond, using her connections in the wedding community to help us secure a cater and coordinate the finer details of our big event! On the day of, Bretta and assistant, Emily were at our venue setting up our outdoor reception and making sure the details were all in place. We got slightly off schedule for the day (my fault!), Bretta was right there with my husband and I to make suggestions on how we could be flexible. Becky was absolutely wonderful to work with and so much fun to brainstorm ideas with. She was able to capture so much of what I love into each arrangement and I received compliments all night! Becky even helped track down our dog's bowtie from a back room to make sure he was "ready for his closeup" in photos. Each meeting with Becky was collaborative and fun to outline what we wanted the day to be! My mother and I both enjoyed working closely with her and the beautiful arrangements of the day were everything we discussed and more! They are a true local Indianapolis shop... engaged in the community and full of wonderful people. They were a delight from start to finish. We were clueless about the whole process of wedding planning, and they were SO informative and helpful, while not being pushy at all. Prices are so reasonable for the quality of what they deliver, and they worked with our budget and vision. It was such a stress relief to know they were on our team, and would do an incredible job without a lot of input from us (especially the day of). If you are planning any event, especially a wedding, look no further. As the bride, I was just so stressed with all of the planning, and they just made me SO comfortable and at ease from the first meeting. We spent a ton of time putting together a playlist that we felt captured the vibe we were going for. We gave our playlist to Don and he took it and ran. Not only did he play the songs we gave him, but he saw the vibe we were going for and played banger after banger. Our dance floor never slowed down and we had an absolute blast! We used them for our wedding day, and we genuinely could not imagine our day without them. Throughout the planning process, Don and Ted met with us several times to organize and iron out any and all details, but also we would just have a good time chatting with each other. At the wedding, our guests asked us if our DJs were personal friends of ours, because we got along so well and had such a good relationship formed throughout our planning process. We had several requests throughout planning to help personalize our music, vibes, etc. and Ted seamlessly integrated them throughout our event. Just got married today with Peter and he was amazing. I can't say enough positive about this…read morecouple. They truly are fantastic people. I probably called Victoria about six times in the past couple weeks just asking questions and clarifying things. Once I got into the office, another couple was getting married and we were quickly taken into the office and before we knew it we were in the ceremony, exchanging rings and down the elevator and into the car and back to the county clerk building. It was a very quick process, but it was not quick without thought and heart in it. Weird heard some of what was said in the wedding before us and it was different than what we were told, and he specifies things to the couple that's in front of them and it was a really cool experience having somebody care so much for so little compensation. All it was was $100 and they went above and beyond. A lot of other places around don't charge less than almost $200 on the lowest and so for them to be $100 less than their competition and to put so much effort into the ceremony it was a lot more than we expected. I didn't expect a ceremony whatsoever so for there to be any type of ceremony, having only spent $100 I was genuinely impressed. It's a very clean office space and there's room for guests which is pretty cool as well. He allowed us to record the event which is really cool and he played up to the camera and it was just a really cool experience and we're so happy to look back on it. The address is 320 North Meridian St. suite number 814. It's on the eighth floor of the Chamber of Commerce building downtown Indianapolis for anybody that may have trouble getting there in the future. We had went to their old location on the circle and quickly realized that it was the wrong location because Google makes it so difficult for people to change the address. Other than that, the most seamless, an easy part of getting married was with Peter and everything in that building. If you're dressed nicely, people will congratulate you and just assume that you're getting married I guess cause we got a lot of congratulations all the way in and all the way up. Make sure to listen to the advice that Peter gives you because it is truly something to listen to from a man who is happily married. I took everything to heart, and I appreciate him taking the time in the energy to put for the wisdom of a married man. All around great experience and although I will not be back, I recommend them to absolutely anyone.

Attendees loved them and they made the events that much more festive. Gaby arrived early both times, has been great with communication, and comes ready to go. She can set up the full balloon decor in just a few minutes and is happy to make any adjustments you need. She brings all of her own supplies to make it possible no matter the venue and I was impressed with how prepared she was. I had an idea of what I wanted to do each time and she made it happen.
