This resulted in us informing the school, 2 months before the new school year started about our move. We had several interactions with Ms. Chong, who helped us as good as she could within he boundaries set by Mark Gustavson. It became clear to us that the school was planning on enforcing the contract signed by my wife (I already saw issues potentially coming and did not sign the contract) in Feb to reenroll our kids into the new schoolyear, with pushing hard to sign or there would be no space left in the classroom. They really expect us to pay a full year's tuition of both kids even though I never signed the contract and we moved before the schoolyear even started. (They claim its damages, yet for preschool there is a waiting list and my youngest son spot was filled within 1 week, also the spot for my oldest kid was filled by another student). Last year they had a tuition insurance in their contract, but somehow without warning this year is has been removed and could no longer be used, how convenient. Now a couple months in they are making threats with lawyers, collections and arbitration (of course since these are not public) after they refused to contact me for a call on the matter. The Empathic capabilities of Mark are non-existing. Also, when our oldest started his new year in a new school, we found out that MSE did a horrible job in education. He was behind 10month of 12 in reading. MSE only had 6 kids in his years classroom yet they were incapable of noticing he had reading issues due to tracking problems. Now that he has special glasses he caught up and is ahead of his pears in reading skills. MSE is not a cheap private school so I do think we should be expecting more of them than what they provide. The only thing I can give to the people in evergreen, be aware when enlisting and trusting your kids to this school, they don't care about the well-being of your kids nor their education. All they care is about taking your money. We will push this case to court and see what MSE is allowed to do within Colorado laws and what action we can take for paying the full years tuition and not providing the actual quality of education they pretend to provide. Updates will follow as this case goes along.

While my GT kid (who is now at Evergreen High School) did ok at Wilmot and EMS, my other kids were not as engaged or challenged at Wilmot and especially not at EMS. In fact, my kids had not been appropriately growing academically nor in standardized testing at these other schools. They rarely had homework for us to complete together in the evenings, little to no required reading, and no help from teachers to move them into more challenging classes/content when they proved they could easily get A's at the current level. Our kids have goals to be academically successful and compete for admission into the best colleges. To achieve this goal, they need to be prepping at a young age towards the vigorous honors level offerings at EHS with a constant emphasis on the importance of good grades as well as the excellent habits required. Frankly, I also believe that my GT kid would have been more stimulated in the science and tech departments at RMAE over EMS. The teachers at RMAE work hard to keep the academic pace brisk and identify when your child needs additional challenges and work to achieve their best potential. The middle school is especially exceptional, and my kids feel safe there to work hard and focus on their school work. They love going to school in the morning and I am now picking up smiling kids at the end of day which is so wonderful! There is no tolerated bully environment and my kids have all made great friends in a very short time and everyone supports each other. The administration and Dr. Hudson have been 100% accessible and willing to sit down and have a conversation with a follow-up plan for helping our kids become their best selves. The quality of work that I now see my kids completing is evidence that they are being inspired at RMAE to work to their full potential. I happily sit with them every evening doing homework or projects because seeing them challenged and believing in themselves is the best gift a mother could receive! There is a different, better alternative for your kids in Evergreen and that school is RMAE!
