Our second outing with Evergreen Escapes (first was to Mt. Rainier this winter). Had a great summer day trip to Olympic National Park. Great guide, lovely food, gorgeous National Park! A long day but Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent made it very worthwhile. We'll be coming back in the future to visit this massive National Park again for a few days. This company really knows customer service! I booked the Mt Rainier tour in Seattle for a Sunday. They called me to tell me the day before that i would be the only one on the tour if that would be okay with me or I could reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule and I didn't mind going alone. I was just so happy they didn't cancel my tour because I came to Seattle just for Mt Rainier. Justin was my guide for the day and he was so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He picked me up at my hotel at 8am in a nice Mercedes SUV. We stopped along the way for a bathroom break and he made me some fresh French press coffee from a local roaster that I really enjoyed. They had gluten free snacks for me in the car, also if you don't like coffee he also had hot tea and waters. He really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. We went on some amazing hikes such as Snow lake, the groves, and skyline trail, and stopped at many waterfalls. It was cold, rainy and on the verge of snowing at the end of October so wear layers and you will be fine. Also, I had my own hiking waterproof boots and gear but if you forget yours they are fully stocked in the car with rain jackets, hiking boots, gloves. Lunch was set up in the visitor center at Paradise and they even accommodated my gluten free requests. We had grilled chicken, kale salad, quinoa. Oh and I had wine and my favorite sparkling water. They even had gf cookie for me for dessert. He had me back at my hotel by 7pm that night. Be prepared to sleep extra good that night :) Overall I had such a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Thank you Evergreen. We used this company to go to Mt. Rainier. The people setting it up and our guide, Emma, were excellent! I got a prompt response to an email requesting information, even though it was the evening, and then a follow up phone call. Emma was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, the wildlife and plant life. She made sure adults and kids were comfortable. She brought wonderful food and drinks. We went on an Alaskan cruise afterwards, but our best excursion was with Evergreen Escapes. It was a great experience overall and we would definitely use this company again. read more

He safely drove ten of us to many spectacular locations and picked a lovely place for a delicious picnic lunch. ELK was an amazing guide. He made sure we had enough time to enjoy the views. He was extremely knowledgeable about Mt Rainier and surrounding area's plants and wildlife. My husband and I did the Christmas Lights and Winery tour and enjoyed every single minute. Great food, great wine, intimate setting to meet the winemaker and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. (And we got to Ride the Ducks for the holiday lights tour!) We even made new friends on the trip! When my sister and her family came out this summer, Evergreen put together a 10-day tour of Seattle and the Puget Sound, including a day trip to Rainier, a lake-to-locks paddle in the city, and several days out on the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juans. They couldn't say enough great things about their tour guide, Tyler, and his knowledge of the Pacific Northwest wildlife and ecology. I surprised my parents with an excursion with EverGreen Escapes for their anniversary. It was the Woodenville wine tour with sea plane tour of Seattle. (I think it was called Soar and Explore). It was the best gift I could have given them. They had the time of their lives. They couldn't stop talking about their sommelier. She was so friendly, interesting, and knowledgeable. My parents said they would not want to go back to Woodenville without her! Of course the sea plane was fantastic too, but the value of this experience was brought by the personal attention of the EverGreen Escapes guide. we live in seattle so my bf and i went on the mt rainier snowshoeing tour w 7 other people in the group and tyler as our guide and it was amazingly awesome!!!! it was our 1st time ever snowshoeing and the day just happened to be perfect weather, clear blue skies! we could see mt adams and mt baker, pyramid peak and all the other peaks....we did 1 long hike and 1 short our guide tyler was awesome and very knowledgable about everything you can think of asking, also i surprised my bf for his bday during the lunch (which i had planned w the reservation) and tyler brought 2 delicious cupcakes for me to surprise him !!! the lunch they served was waaaay above my expectations, i thought we'd get a crappy sandwich and chips like most tours... BUT they went ABOVE AND BEYOND and we had grilled chicken breast with peppers, salad and quinoa, even stuffed portabellas for the veggie lovers and cookies for dessert (drinks were sparkling water and apple juice and local red wine) !! everything was delicious !!!! we also had coffe, tea and yummy blueberry cake for breakfast i definitely recommend the company and the trip! and look forward to going on future trips with them =) perfection! o ya there are lots of cool pics on their facebook profile so check them out!! read more

(Portland location coming soon ...) This tour operator out of Seattle has begun doing their sustainable adventures in Portland. I found them after having a difficult time reserving the "nature" tours (Willamette Valley wine and Cannon Beach) I was so interested in taking. Coming for a week from Chicago I did not to chance the local tour operators would not have their quota of guests so I booked their more $$ but ultimately worthwhile tour of the wine country .. A local walking tour guide and a woman from Atlanta were the only others to join me with Kieron in a biofueled Mercedes SUV. He is a botanist with a host of life and professional experiences for one of 30 years ... And we made a very companionable and fun group for the half-day tour. I was so impressed that I have signed up for their Cannon Beach full-day tour on Sunday. They are still making their way into the commerce and culture of this beautiful and unique city ... I hope Portlanders welcome them as a tour company offering a different experience so in tune with the their own culture. Looking forward to their permanence here. read more

My cousin and I just got back from a week in Seattle where we took 3 trips with Evergreen Escapes. Each one was wonderful in its own way and we are very glad that we booked all 3. Evergreen made it so easy to book and go. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The guides were all wonderful and completely prepared with coffee, tea, pasties for breakfast and then great picnic lunches and loads of snacks. They even had extra raincoats. All we had to do was show up and have a great time. We went to Olympic National Park with Nate, Mt. Rainer with Alex and Mt. Saint Helens with Jann and they were all terrific. We went on an all-day snow-shoeing tour of mt. rainier and had a fabulous time. There was 6 in our group (all first timers at snowsheoing!) and 4 others, making the total group size 10 pple. Everything from the drive over there to the food & snacks to the supplies was really beyond our expectations. Our guide Nick was AMAZING! He's been doing this for many many years and was so knowledgeable about our surroundings. Despite it snowing like crazy the entire time we were out there, we still had a blast! We booked this on a recommendation from a friend who had done one of the tours before. We did the half day Seattle Tour, our tour guide was Christine. What I liked was they picked you up at your hotel. What I did not like was having to wait 15-20 minutes for the other couple that was going on the tour with us.Apparently it didn't matter to them that other people paid money for the tour as well. They were called twice while we were sitting waiting for them... So that was not to fun or acceptable. It is Seattle and in the morning so of course Rain and it was a pretty good little storm system. However I did enjoy our tour and thought Christine was very informative and sweet. The tour overall was what I expected so If you want a quick tour of Seattle I would recommend just hope you get better tour partners than what we had. read more

I did the Mount Rainier day trip. It was great. The food was great, the car (Mercedes Wagon) was super comfortable. Our guide seemed to know the mountain frontwards and backwards. He was a wealth of knowledge. We will most likely be doing a trip with them again. I've done a lot of these types of trips in my life and the companies don't always have their act together. Highly recommend if you live in Seattle or are here for a visit! Went with coworkers and had a fabulous time with our guide, Jeremy, for the full day Rainier snowshoeing trip! We had enough people for our own group which was so fun because he could adjust our trip to whatever we wanted. He knew a ton and had a great sense of humor! Food was fantastic and fresh! Enjoyed wine with lunch at a table with linens (how fancy!). It was so great to get out of the city without having to plan ANYTHING. They provided snowshoes (I have my own but opted not to worry about packing them), water in reusable water bottles (which Jeremy hauled around for us all day), transportation, breakfast (with delish coffee), lunch AND snacks. Seriously we didn't have to plan anything! They even provide extra gloves, boots, and other snow clothes at their office if you've forgotten anything or aren't prepared. We got a travel zoo deal but I honestly would have no problem paying full price and plan to book a trip with them again! read more

This tour was AWESOME! My boyfriend and I took a day trip to Mount Rainier with EverGreen Escapes. Our tour guide (forgot her name, sorry!) was incredibly knowledgable. She holds a masters degree in environmental biology (if I remember correctly), has started her own tour company overseas that is dedicated to minimizing carbon footprints from tourists, and happened to just summit Mt. Rainier a week prior to our tour. She didn't have a canned speech about certain sights. She just knew where to lead us and was able to speak so eloquently about anything we encountered. You spend a lot of time hiking, so be prepared. Even though this hike said on the website that it was an easy level of difficulty, I found some portions of the hike to really be challenging to keep my legs moving. (And I consider myself in good health and do considerable walking and weekly moderate exercise). Some other folks on our tour (who were maybe 50 years old?) had trouble by the end and took more of a break hanging out at the Rainier camp instead of starting another small hike for the last 30-60 minutes before we had to leave. You can still enjoy the beauty of the mountains all around you, even if you are taking a break. The tour guide had some snacks in the car for us, and provided lunch and some wine at lunch. The food was all really fresh, natural ingredients. There was a maybe 9-year old boy in our group who really didn't like any of the food.- salad, quinoa, fruit, and various pastries. I am sure there were a few other things, but I can't remember them now. Anyway, this was our most favorite tourist thing that we did during our stay in Seattle. read more

Overall, I enjoyed the tour, and we certainly got to see places one normally wouldn't get to on a day tour. The guide was very good about keeping up with the group's abilities and needs for breaks/restrooms. However, our guide really catered to one individual in the group socially, and this became a tone for the trip. I took similar park tours and saw guides who took the time to interact with their entire group, not just focus on one individual. A major point I found annoying was the van - yes it's a Sprinter with Mercedes plating, but it was not impressive having to use a step stool every time we entered and exited. Had the price been more reasonable, this wouldn't have been such an issue. read more

We took the walking tour of Seattle and found out about all the good happenings in and around downtown Seattle. We did a full day Mt. Rainier tour. Evergreen tours picks you up (on time!) from any downtown hotel in a clean and spacious Mercedes van. We made two-three stops for short hikes, a few stops at lookout points, a stop at a beautiful waterfall and stops for breakfast (tea & snacks), and a catered gourmet lunch. There are plenty of amazing photo opportunities. Our trip was with a small group (8) which allowed interaction with the guide on a more personal level. Our awesome guide, Curt, took every hiking and photo opportunity to explain many features of the mountain. The last hike is along the tree line providing a very clear view of the glaciers and mountain top. There is a lot of walking involved, but no climbing or strenuous hiking. It is a very enjoyable and educational experience for anyone wanting to visit Mt. Rainier for the first time. read more

Absolutely amazing!! Strongly suggest if you're visiting Seattle (and you have the time) get out of "the city" and see the true beauty of the Pacific Northwest with Evergreen Escapes. Prior to booking the tour, I spoke with some of the staff who were patient and accommodating. This is not a tour where you are herded onto a large bus, shuttled around, and left on your own. It's an intimate, private tour with luxurious, thoughtful touches. A large, comfortable van picks you up and drops you off at your hotel. We began the day with a light breakfast where we got to know our guide Sean and the others on our tour. Later on in the day, while enjoying nature, a lovely lunch is served with table linens, real plates, sliver ware and wine. Beverages and snacks are offered all day long. It was our tour guide Sean who really made this a very special experience. He was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic about showing us the beauty and wonderment of Mt. Rainier National Park. He was personable, thoughtful, and a lot of fun. He kept the tour moving without feeling hurried, taking necessary breaks, and involved the group in making some decisions about how the tour was conducted. We were very fortunate to have been part of a small group of seven very amicable and friendly people along with Sean who made our trip to Mr. Rainier memorable. Rainier daytrip and had an extraordinary time from the second I stepped in the very comfortable Mercedes.
