My Mount Rainier day tour with Evergreen Escapes was absolutely unforgettable. The Naturalist guide, Brent Maphis, was warm, professional, and impressively knowledgeable -- sharing fascinating insights about the park's geology, history, wildlife, and ecology that made the landscapes come alive. His passion for the PNW and conservation was contagious. He created a cohesive small group experience that felt both enriching and effortless. Thoughtful touches, like French pressed coffee with cakes in the morning and a delicious catered lunch, added comfort and charm to the day. I left with a deeper appreciation for Mount Rainier and can't recommend Brent and this tour highly enough!

Had an awesome tour guide, Marty, lead our group. This was a full day tour to Olympic National park (approximately 10 hour tour). We stopped at hurricane ridge, crescent lake and then did a hike to a waterfall. We got to see snow and forest, it was great. Marty was prepared with hiking poles for the snow, had awesome snacks for us during the day and a great lunch as well. Everything was very well thought out. Highly recommend this tour company and Marty specifically!

Highly recommend! Took a tour to Olympic National Park. Jackie and Luke were stellar tour guides! They answered everyone's questions and enjoyed their stories and knowledge. We got lucky and the sun was out shining and no rain in sight. I got picked up on time from my hotel. There were plenty of snacks, beverages, and restroom breaks. Lunch was wonderful, shout out to the women who prepared it for us! We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island to Hurricane Ridge, Elwha River Valley, Crecent Lake, saw water falls, and saw the differences between a forged forest and non-foraged forest ( or tree harvesting). I went in May and did bring layers to peel off during the tour.

I can't even begin to express how happy I am with our Evergreen Escapes experience! I originally booked a day tour from Seattle to Leavenworth, but then we decided we wanted to spend more time in Leavenworth. When I called to cancel the tour, Liz told me they do personalized tours too. We ended up having a guide pick us up at our hotel in Seattle and take us on a scenic tour. We stopped at Snoqualmie Falls and Twin Falls for short (1- 1.5 miles) hikes and beautiful views. Then we stopped by a lake and had a picnic lunch. Yes, it was chilly and fresh snow was on the ground, but that didn't matter. It was stunning! When we arrived to Leavenworth, our guide took us around town and pointed out good options for dinner and fun activities to do. TBH, at first I was afraid it was a little over priced, but in hindsight, it was perfect. If I am ever in the region again, I will use Evergreen Escapes again for sure!!

Matthew Card was my tour guide/driver for Olympic National Park. He was friendly, engaging, enthusiastic, funny, and just plain adorable. He gave us his background (ecology and aviary) and was very informative about where we were heading for the day and what to expect. You could tell he loved his job, nature, people (and dogs). From beginning to end, he made sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. He answered questions, asked us questions and got to know us, set a moderate pace for the day but was aware of everyone's needs (ex1. at the second hike, an elderly gentleman got tired and Matthew drove him and let him rest while we went on and ex2. a lady was carsick so Matthew let her sit up front). At the end of the day, although the trees were my favorite part of the park, Matthew was also a fave because of how amazing he was. He let us know the ferries taking us back to Seattle from Bainbridge were running late and gave us an option to walk onto the ferry so we wouldn't be back too late (which some people did and some stayed with him in the van). I would definitely use Evergreen again. The van was clean, ride comfortable, guide awesome, and food and drinks provided was a huge selection to choose from. Planning a trip is hard in general and including a ferry, long drive, and unknown park is a logistical nightmare so this tour was a great find/blessing (found it online through research and immediately was attracted to the five star rating).

Mount Rainer tour over Thanksgiving. We did not get to see the mount Rainer.. It was very cloudy and bit snowy. It was unfortunate to pay almost $300 for the tour and didn't get to see it. I know that's something they cannot control, but still, pretty disappointed. The guide knew we were not able to see mount Rainer so he took us on this small trail, which was lush green everywhere. Then we parked the van where we can go farthest and tried walking to mount Rainer. Which we didn't walk far at all. We did stop by the river area and took some photos then had to leave. They did provide food, which were boxed soup and some homemade pasta things. They were alright, nothing crazy, mediocre. For the cost I have paid for even if I saw the mount Rainer, I don't think it was worth it that much. If I have a car next time, I will be trying to do it on my own.

TL;DR: Great as a 1-day limitation stay in Seattle if you prefer nature versus Pike Place/city stuff. Also great as a non-local that wants an intro session of what Mt. Rainier NPS has to offer (ex: little bit of everything) without worrying about hiking poles, food, rental car. YMMV depending on pacing of others / "special requests" from others, and nature's mood (weather, fires, etc.) Evergreen Escapes was picked because I found their tours originally on Viator & their all included offerings (snacks/food, hiking poles provided, hotel pickup/drop-off). If you book direct with them over the phone, you may save some money because you don't have to pay online taxes/fees and just their local tax. YMMV but we saved about $40 for 2 adults for the Mt. Rainier all-day excursion leaving from Seattle. (Hotel pickup and drop off included.) They also take note of any food allergies / diets you have. We went late August and it was considered a hazy day due to Canadian/local forest fires. (See my pictures of clouds on Mt. Rainier throughout the day.) Overall we hit all the itinerary spots they intended, with the exception of the last hike due to NPS Rangers closing the trail due to a JUST HAPPENED lightning strike that caught some trees on fire. (Nowhere near us, but you can smell like a neighbor's BBQ. NPS cars and rangers were all over the park on alert at checkpoints and checking on families/groups to divert as needed.) Our tour guide is Evan. While a recent local college grad, his education background (something about enviro planning) and enthusiasm for his home turf lends itself very well to be a VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE tour guide. He would talk about what we're seeing, local life/trees, history of the location of how it formed, etc. And answered all our questions! Very easy going kid, no pressure/rush, looking out for everyone. Van (NOT A BUS) is bigger than a minivan and we're able to keep our backpacks inside for the short picture stops. (I would still take your wallet with you, like any other risks when parking in a public parking lot.) Fits 12 passengers + 1 driver. Van was clean, fully AIR CONDITIONED (may need to re-aim the vents, but no big deal), and limited cup holders to those near a window. YMMV if you're able to achieve the entire intended itinerary because it depends on everyone's walking/hiking pace, picture taking, how fast people eat/bathroom, etc. Ours wasn't too bad, and the schedule offset is due to lighting tree fire / smoke (which is NOT Evergreens fault). Evan did park further away downhill from the target so that we can at least have an idea of what we're SUPPOSED to see and observe the fire helicopters at work. (Pretty cool substitute.) We had one retired person who didn't anticipate an actual waterfall hike (steep rock steps at Myrtle Falls), so they shopped at the Visitor Center gift shop while waiting for us. The "special request" for gift store shopping happened to be the same retired person, so everything worked out! This is an example of how YMMV depending on the group members vibe. Hotel Pickup at 7:40am (I was the last pickup). Mini coffee/pastry bathroom stop ~9:00am (Alder Lake). Arrived at actual NPS gates at ~10:00 am. Lunch at Longmire ~2:00pm Left the park ~4:00pm due to nearby tree fire cutting the last trail hike out. Arrived back in Seattle (with traffic) at ~6:00pm (first to be dropped). 1. Passed by Alder Lake, Christine Falls. 2. Stopped and hiked* Kautz Creek Viewpoint, Myrtle Falls, time allotted to check out Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise, Reflection Lake Viewpoint, Narada Falls Hike 3. Late lunch at Longmire. 4. Stopped and hiked* Nisqually River with the wooden bridge, Kraute Creek Viewpoint 5. Skipped Twin Firs Trail due to NPS fire safety/closure. *Hiked is relative/subjective. Some are a quick stop for pictures, while some is max 1 mile round trip. Trail would vary depending paved or dirt, elevation gain or steepness, depending how the NPS set up and is NOT reflective of Evergreen. Each stop has a sitting area for folks that wish to linger behind. Evan would answer questions for those concerned before starting, and lingers at all times to make sure we're together in a group when we set off. (Ex: He'll hang in the back to keep an eye on the slower ones because it's a one way in/one way out anyways. Or he'll lead and stop every once in a while to make sure the last one isn't too far out and take the wrong fork.) He provides ample time for pictures and helped us taking some as well. Overall if you're familiar with NPS, it's a great worry free itinerary where you just need to pack appropriate layers/jacket, and a refillable water bottle. (We brought our own, but Evergreens had PLENTY on hand filled with COLD water and kept in ice cooler.)

We were smitten by our experience. I couldn't more highly recommend Evergreen Escapes. My wife and I had never done a tour while on vacation. We've always appreciated knowledgeable docents, but found the designing our own itinerary worked just fine--and gave us added independence. We stumbled across Evergreen Escapes via TripAdvisor and decided to spend the money on a premium experience for their Olympic Park trip. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID!! From the very moment the day began until the drop off, things couldn't have gone better--and it rained the entire day. First and foremost, the tour guide, Sean, was incredible. We were amazed at how well his career path had made him into an expert in so many things. Additionally, he was curious and friendly, which meant he was consistently conversational on a wide-variety of topics. That's not to say he was overly-chatty. There were quiet moments in the van where he read the group and allowed the silence to settle over tired travelers. The tour itself was incredible. We went in mid-May, and it rained for 10 hours (until we got back to the ferry to Seattle). This meant the tour guide had to make adjustments. Hurricane Ridge was snowed in, so we went to a beach instead. In addition to the beach (which several people identified as their tour highlight), we saw two waterfalls and hiked through some incredible Olympic forests. The rain was steady, but not a downpour. The tour company provided heavier winter jackets, rain jackets, gloves, and walking poles. If you had good shoes, the hikes were pleasant and filled with uncommon beauty and interesting insights from the guide. Bathroom breaks and stops at the lodge were very well planned. We never felt we had to request a stop for a bio break or to warm up--they anticipated our needs. The lunch meal was so good. I was expecting cheap food, but was happily surprised by the quality and quantity. Everyone had their fill--in fact, at the end of breakfast and lunch, the guide was trying to give more away. Granted, our guide isn't the only guide you may get with Evergreen Tours. Apparently, our guide trains other guides for the company--so if Sean is setting the tone for what the company is hiring for, I would not hesitate to book with them again. In fact, I don't know if my pocketbook could have handled it, but if we would have been in the area for a few more days, we would have been tempted to try to squeeze in one of their Rainer trips.

We took the Olympic National Park tour, and Mal was our guide. She had an incredible wealth of knowledge, so we spent the day bombarding her with questions. We learned so much about the area, volcanoes, geology, botany, etc. So impressed with Mal! Olympic NP is a gorgeous park, and going with Evergreen Escapes is a great way to see a lot of it. We saw waterfalls, forests, lakes, rivers, mountains, etc. Just stunning scenery all around.

Took back-to-back tours with this company -- and I'm so glad I did. First tour was to Olympic National Park. Mal was terrific as a guide. Very enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The next day, Mount Rainier with Tess. She, too, was a terrific guide and had the same qualities as Mal. In fact, after years of taking national park tours by various companies, these two were the most upbeat and chipper guides I have ever met. They really love their work -- and it shows with their attention to detail and each group member's needs. They even make sure to include everyone in conversations in the van while traveling to and from the park so no one feels left out. They each make it a point to ensure everyone in the group has a great time. Besides the great guides, one feature that sets Evergreen apart from the rest is lunch. On most daylong tours of a national park, it's a sandwich-and-chips deal. As a ham sandwich kind of guy, I was OK with that. But Evergreen spoiled me. Both Tess and Mal set out a spread with tablecloth, dishes, silverware -- even cloth napkins. Local caterers provided the food, which was delicious. Our group's meal felt more like a family get-together than a lunch break for nine people on a day trip. On top of all this, both Mal and Tess found secluded areas away from the crowds so our group could pleasantly dine outside at picnic tables with great views. With this classy setup, I half expected a string quartet to pop out of the bushes and play Vivaldi or something. What more can you ask for? Another great feature: If you want to do some hiking in the park on your trip, you can do that. These trips are a little more active than other tour companies that basically drive you to a scenic vista, give you five minutes to shoot a picture or selfie, then herd you back on the bus to haul you to the next scenic locale and repeat. That said, these hikes are not death marches. Each run about a mile or so, usually over even ground -- great for most people of differing abilities and health conditions. Both Tess and Mal offered great information about the flora and fauna along the way. But if you don't want to do a lot of walking, that's cool too. Both Mal and Tess stressed that it's YOUR trip -- and gave plenty of options on how you want to spend the day at the park. Evergreen Escapes is first class all the way. Definitely will be one of my yardsticks to measure other tour companies as I continue my travels across the USA. And, when I return to the PNW someday, I will definitely use their services again. read more

An awesome day with Sarah! Pick up at hotel on time! Explained everything and answered any questions. Introduced others each time we picked up someone new. Nice size only 10 guests. Comfortable travel van. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. Magnificent 3.5 mile hike. Food, drinks and snacks provided were fresh and accessible all day. We did the Mt Ranier with Yakima winery tour. Wineries were excellent and beautiful! A long day but broken up nicely I would highly recommend this tour! read more

If you want a more tailored, intimate way to see Mt. Rainier, definitely give Evergreen Escapes a try. If you get Ben, you will get a young man who is passionate about nature, his job, and his future in the medical field. Ben made our tour a very enjoyable and memorable experience. He was not afraid to change course to allow us to have a better experience or enjoy the better views of Mt. Rainier. Highly recommend Evergreen Escapes and Ben's tours. They are professional, punctual and focus on quality and attention to detail, including the exceptional lunch they serve. read more

Marty was such an awesome tour guide! The tour was worth every penny, from Marty's awesome stories all the way to the cool little hidden gems he took us too! We are definitely coming back for another tour and bringing a group to join. Marty had everything you would ever need from jackets to gloves and even had snacks and water for everyone. I will say, if you aren't comfortable drinking from reused bottles that he provides, it's best to bring your own. Also, I HIGHLY recommend wearing layers if you are going around this time of year and make sure to wear a waterproof jacket and definitely wear hiking boots! There were some amazing views here and worth paying!!! read more

We did the one day Mt. Rainier tour. Marty (sp?) was our tour guide and he was very accommodating. We took a few little detours to scenic spots on the way (with snacks and hot drinks!) before finally getting to Paradise. Snowshoeing on Mt. Rainier was a blast, especially with the weather clearing up and sun coming out! My mother needed more time to complete the trek, but Marty made sure to take adequate breaks during the hike so we could catch up. He also told us about some of the history behind the mountain. Lunch was the best-Marty packed us a lot of food and we parked/ate in the lot overlooking both Mt. Rainier and the Tatoosh mountain range. We never felt rushed and I really appreciated that. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend this trip to anyone! read more

We took the Whales + Wildlife Watching Tour and it was exceptional from start to finish. Our guide, Marty, picked us up right on time, had top notch snacks and drinks, and made sure everything was taken care of. He was a safe driver as well which was much appreciated. Included was a plated lunch complete with a table cloth and real plates and silverware. A real treat! The day was amazing and I highly recommend this tour and this company. read more

The tour to Mt St Helens was amazing! So much beauty to see, and I loved all the detailed information that Elk shared with us along the way. We had some great hikes, some excellent food, and a whole lot of laughs. The tour was just the right size, too. We had plenty of room in the comfy van to spread out, and there was a fun energy among the 7 of us. I will definitely use this company again and will ask specifically for Elk next time! read more

Had an amazing time with the Snoqualmie falls / wine tour with tour guide Jann! Jann had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour. We loved the places she took us for the wine tour that we ended up buying some wine to take back home with us. Will definitely come back for another tour when visiting Seattle. Thank you again Jann! My partner and I had a wonderful small group tour of Olympic National Park on June 19 organised by Evergreen Escapes. Everything went smoothly according to what was advertised. Our group had 8 participants led by Jackie Kaiser, our driver/naturalist guide. Jackie was extremely knowledgeable and did a excellent job not only in telling us about the various spots that we had visited but almost keeping the group alive! My wife and I were on the Mount St. Helens tour and our guide was Mal. We had a blast on our tour. She was amazing and she knew the area very well and we learned so much about the Mount St. Helens eruption in 1980 and how it affected the area. The food was great and she had snacks and water available. We saw the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, the Johnston Ridge Observatory, and finally the Mount St. Helens Volcanic Monument. We also saw some items that were on the mountain when the eruption happened. It was truly amazing and we would recommend it to everyone. read more

Lindsay was awesome! We had a full day that kinda went longer than planned because of how much we got to do. Seattle visits aren't complete without a day spent exploring tidal pools, a temperate rain forest and the heights of the Olympic National Park. Throw in some history, an awesome dark roast pick-me-up, lunch, snacks and a few terrible puns and you've the making for a very memorable day. Scheduling (and rescheduling) was easy, the pickup was on time, travel was scenic and the food delish. Lindsay's willingness to extend our tour and divert for a better timed ferry allowed us to enjoy a waterside dinner before returning home. Much appreciated! All along he was willing to figure out what the group wanted, and how strenuous any hiking should be. We really enjoyed our extra "big tree" walk where we hugged trees like a native. read more

What a fantastic trip. We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our guide for the day, Ben. Ben is so knowledgeable and tons of fun. Nice van with plenty of room for our small group. We hiked the Grove of the Patriarchs Nature Trail. Crossed a very cool suspension bridge. The water was so clear and the area was just beautiful. Ben talked to us the whole time about the area and the natural surroundings. Had a fabulous lunch at a picnic bench by a stream. Very well done. Packed up and headed to some wineries. Again, Ben was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Enjoyed ourselves and had a very talkative ride back to Seattle. Would highly recommend this trip (and Ben) to anyone visiting the area. read more

Dan and the Evergreen Escapes team put together an outstanding private tour! We spend the day looking for wintering birds across the Skaggit Valley in a very comfortable van with lots of delicious food. Dan is super knowledgeable about the natural history of the region and also helped our group see all of our target birds for the day. on monday wednesday january 17, 2024 i did their olympic national park day tour with marty! despite the chilly weather this day tour is not something to pass up and i would happily do any of their tours again. it is definitely worth it i have no regrets. i went alone and am 18 years old and it was such a beautiful and unforgettable experience. our guide was marty and he was very insightful with each place we stopped by. marty's energy was amazing and welcoming, he made myself and the 5 others on the tour all comfortable and although we all didn't know each other, it didn't feel awkward at all. the views you'll see in the olympic national park day tour is unreal. i've attached some photos to hopefully prove my statement. we took a ferry to and from bainbridge bridge island (where you see the seattle skyline during the day and night), did a hike up hurricane ridge with our snow shoes and stopped by several places that included toilet breaks, beautiful views of parts of olympic national park, it's large trees, and waterfalls. the food for lunch was yummy and they provide a box of snacks for the drive. overall, i'd say if you're in seattle, i'd recommend evergreen and their guide marty for their tours, particularly their olympic national park tour! read more

We had the pleasure of having Owen be our Tour Guide on 8/18/22 for the Best of Olympic National Park from Seattle: All-Inclusive Small-Group Day Tour. Owen was amazing, he had a great energy and enthusiasm in sharing his knowledge and experience of the Olympic National Park with us; there were a total of 10 people on this tour. Owen was able to answer everyone's questions and kept us engaged and excited about the tour throughout the day. The 12-hour day went by fast as there was so much natural beauty to take in and rich history to discuss that was facilitated by Owen. I appreciated that the driving was broken up with rest stops for bathroom break opportunities and stops to take in the sights. During our day we visited Crescent Lake, where we hiked to Marymere Falls, lunch at a nearby river and ended our day by visiting the majestic Hurricane Ridge, where we took a second hike. The lunch that was provided to us on this tour was a big hit with everyone! It consisted of chicken or tofu for a protein option, a mixed green salad and an Asian style pasta salad. Soft drinks, water and cookies were also available. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to access the natural beauty the Olympic National Park has to offer for a one day jaunt. read more

We took the tour to Mt Rainier with Marty and it was superb!! This company is excellent. Marty is very knowledgeable and personable. Once you book this tour all you need to bring are comfortable hiking shoes and adventure! They provide all the food and enough snacks and water for the trip. I highly recommend this company. We booked a tour to Mt. St. Helens with Evergreen Escapes. They picked us up at our hotel in Downtown Seattle and dropped us off after the conclusion of the tour, which was so convenient for us and one of the main reasons we booked with them. Nate, our guide, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and took really good care of us. We would definitely book another tour with Evergreen the next time we're in Seattle. read more

Perfect way to end our trip in Seattle. Kevin, our guide, was so informative, very knowledgeable, and he has quite a laidback attitude. We managed to obtain some phenomenal photos! I loved every stop and the super healthy food/drinks they provided. We had lunch by the beautiful Madison creek and we got to hike to the waterfall, which took less 5 minutes to do. We had some protein bars and baked goods as snacks. For lunch, we had kale salad, tofu, grilled chicken, and some red wine. Dessert was oatmeal and chocolate cookies! Just a bit of a warning, when you get up to Hurricane Ridge, it is a bit of a hike so bring your hiking shoes and a cheerful attitude :) Although it's a 12-hour tour, it was all well worth it. They are willing to pick you up and drop you off at any hotels in downtown Seattle area. If you are staying outside of their pick up area, they will meet you in any downtown Seattle hotels near where you're staying or get picked up in Monaco hotel which is less than a block from Seattle Central Library. My friends and I were staying at a bed and breakfast in North Seattle but we didn't have any issues commuting. We took the Rapid Ride bus to Monaco, and pretty much to everywhete. I highly recommend Evergreen to anyone. 5/5 read more

We had an incredible time on the Olympic National Park tour with Elk as our guide. We got views of Mount Olympus and Mount Baker, saw several marmots, took a beautiful hike where Elk set up our lunch against a breathtaking back drop. All along the way Elk shared his endless knowledge on the history of the Olympic peninsula and what makes it so biodiverse. Our guide was attentive to any needs we had and was ready to make any necessary stops and water refills, and gave us options to customize the experience to what we were expecting. Went on the Mt Rainier full day tour and it was awesome! We were on the fence about even doing a tour at all because I felt like we could probably just drive through the park ourselves, but this trip really surpassed my expectations. We originally chose it because it was more intimate group than big bus tours - so if that's what you're looking for, this is it! Justin Fox was our guide and he was so knowledgeable and considerate of the group. He brought us to the best spots for us to take in the scenery and get the best pics which is something you won't necessarily know if you're traveling without a guide or with a big bus company. I did a tour of Mt. Rainier with Erin, and Olympic National Park with Owen of Evergreen Escapes. Everything was perfect. Both tours had comfortable, safe transportation, delicious breakfast/lunch/snacks, and knowledgeable, patient guides. Erin is cool as a cucumber through rain, us asking dumb questions, a minor traffic delay on the road, and everything else that came her way that was out of her control. Mt. Rainier still had a ton of snow during our early July trip. We never got to see the actual mountain because of the weather but that didn't stop Erin from giving us a great time. We saw waterfalls, hiked a bit, walked a bit, and learned a ton of info about the National Park and its history. Owen, a Seattle area native, clearly loves history, nature, biology, ecology, and all things national parks. He gave us choices between strenuous and less strenuous activities at every stop, was a wealth of knowledge about the park and its trees and animals, and went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great time. He shared facts about the Native American populations of the areas we visited, flowers along the sides of the roads, the bridges we crossed, and everything else we saw. Owen had more energy than his 10 passengers combined and it was contagious! If you have to choose one, I would do a tour of Olympic National Park. It's a lot more varied and includes more walking/hiking. We saw more wildlife too, and the itinerary included a lot of unique stops and beautiful drives. You also get to ride the ferry! But you can't go wrong with any of the tours this company offers, I highly recommend them. read more

Trying to do a day tour of Olympic National Park from Seattle is quite the challenge, but they managed to do it well! There were a total of 8 passengers, all picked up from our respective hotels early morning. Though we had a timing issue in the morning, the rest of the day totally made up for it. Snacks and drinks were provided and available throughout the tour. We made our way onto the ferry, where our tour guide, Lindsey made coffee and handed out breakfast pastries. He made sure to ask the group if we wanted any extra rest stops in between, which was thoughtful. He also incorporated our suggestions for the day's itinerary, seeing if we wanted to skip or include any stops along the way. We collectively agreed that we wanted to see the tide pool during low tide, which was our first stop. It was great timing too! Lindsey had already checked the low tide times beforehand to make sure it was possible to include that stop. We saw some amazing sea life (starfish, anemone, hermit crabs, sea urchins) on a ground made up of mussels. It was our first time seeing a tide pool and a truly unforgettable experience. Lindsey was genuinely excited and very knowledgeable, which made the experience much more fun. We stopped at Elwha River, a waterfall, walked into the temperate rainforest, and of course, Hurricane Ridge. We saw some interesting plant life and learned about the environment there. The views from Hurricane Ridge were absolutely stunning. We also saw a deer that walked alongside us for some time. The hike up to the higher point at Hurricane Ridge is quite the journey, would highly recommend hiking shoes and mentally preparing for a steep walk up and down a dirt/rocky ground. If you don't do the hike, that's also fine--the views are already beautiful enough by the visitor's center. The trip to and from Olympic can be lengthy, but we made enough stops so we personally didn't have an issue with it. The ferry ride is also a nice break from being in the car. This trip was well worth it! We had a packed day full of sights, a filling lunch and a fun time with the other passengers and guide Lindsey! read more

Our group of nine had an amazing day touring local wineries and the Snohomish Falls. Our first stop at William Grassie Winery was a unique opportunity to meet a wine maker. The wine was excellent at all three stops but chatting with Bill about his business and his wines was the highlight for me. Our tour guide, Kevin, was fantastic. He was like our designated driver friend by the end of the tour. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, he made a beautiful day even better. The food and snacks were excellent and abundant. Great sightseeing and hiking experience of Mt Rainier. Evan was our Evergreen private tour lead and his knowledge and social skills enhanced our day. The Evergreen private tour included everything. Lite breakfast, lunch truly exceeding all expectations, snacks and drinks were all provided. Evan planned our day to accommodate the interests of young children, their parents and grandparents. We came to Seattle for an Alaskan Cruise, but didn't want to miss the chance to explore a little of Washington State. We were so glad we chose Evergreen Escapes to visit Mount Rainier National Park! We received our specific pick up instructions a day before the excursion. Owen (our tour guide and driver) picked us up in a van promptly at our designated time. The rest of our group had already been picked up and we were on our way to the park. First stop was on a camping area with clean bathrooms and a beautiful lake. Fresh pastries were served with freshly brewed coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate, all with reusable cutlery. The food also complied with our previously specified dietary restrictions. There was another bathroom stop and we headed up to Paradise point. In Paradise, we were provided with snow shoes to go on a snow hike to a beautiful waterfall. Later, we headed to the Visitor Center and we were provided with a healthy hot lunch with, again, dietary restrictions compliance and reusable cutlery. BECAUSE IT WAS SPRINGTIME, THE MOUNTAIN WAS A BIT FOGGY, BUT OWEN CAME TO LOOK FOR US WHEN THE FOG MOVED AND WE GOT THE CHANCE TO SEE MOUNT RAINIER!! After that, we made our way down the mountain and made 3 more stops. We hiked to Christine Falls, Trail of Shadows and Twin Firs Trails, where we got to see natural hot springs and centenary trees. Owen was very attentive, knowledgeable and, thanks to his great personality, a small group of strangers became a small group of friends on a very relaxed day all while reconnecting with nature! read more

The Best of Mt. Rainier all-inclusive day excursion was relaxing, effortless, invigorating, and fun. We arrived at Mt Rainier National Park around 11:00am after stopping for bathrooms and a tour-provided breakfast and snacks. Once we arrived at the national park, we drove straight up to Paradise for an amazing, clear view of Rainier. We saw a black-tailed deer, small brooks/waterfalls, and high-elevation trees and plants, and encountered only a few other hikers, despite the fact that the parking lot at the visitor center was nearly full. We took our time taking photographs and observing the mountain. I wore hiking boots, but in summer you would be fine in running shoes or well-fitting loafers, as long as you don't mind that they get dusty or a little wet. Then we headed downhill to Longmire for a leisurely lunch and time in the museum and gift shop. Finally, we stopped at Twin Firs to hike through an old growth forest. We were back at our hotel/pick-up point by 6:30pm. Our guide, Kris, was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. She was also an excellent driver, which I appreciated on the winding roads in the park! Our group was the perfect size and everyone got along great. We laughed a lot and shared personal stories about our work and travels. If you're traveling solo, you should feel very comfortable and safe on this tour. Kris facilitated fun, informative conversations, and I think we all left feeling like we had learned something and developed a deeper appreciation for nature. read more

The company Evergreen Escape showed that they care through professional and friendly services. Our tour guide Marjorie worked very hard. She is friendly and knowledgeable, on time, and caring about us having the best time on our trip. I can say for all 8 of us that we have become good friends with each other and with Marjorie. The food was superb and healthy. The day started with GREAT coffee, banana bread and muffins on the ferry to Bainbridge Island. Lunch was served with, mind you, table cloth, porcelain plates, and real utensils (not paper or plastic). We had spaghetti, quinoa salad, grilled chicken, flavor tofu, and sweet potato salad with plenty of soft drinks and snacks throughout the day. Evergreen Escape is a small local company with a smaller tour group for personal attention. I strongly recommend this tour, not only because it's wonderful but also to support the local companies and local unsung heroes/heroines - the tour guides. Evergreen Escape also has a Facebook group so whoever wanted to, could join to share photos without having to exchange personal information. For a moment in time, I was touched by, and honored to have known, my trip fellows and the wonderful tour guide Marjorie. I took the full-day 12-hour tour of Olympic National Park Tour with Marty from Evergreen Escapes and it was awesome! I traveled solo to Seattle and wanted to visit ONP for the longest time. Everything went smoothly. Marty told us interesting facts about Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula region on our way there and all of the passengers became completely comfortable with one another within the first hour. As for the tour itself: water, snacks, and lunch were provided. Transportation on land and by ferry were included. Marty always made sure everyone was comfortable with the varying levels of difficulty of the hikes in Olympic National Park. Everyone was in good spirits and we saw deer, chipmunks, and even a mama black bear with her cubs in Hurricane Ridge (which is supposedly very rare there)! Overall, I had an amazing time and I have plenty of photos to remember this by. (Thanks, Marty, for letting me ask you to take a million photos of me in the mountains haha). If you're thinking of exploring the nature of northwestern Washington with a tour group, don't think twice. This tour blew me away and exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to share my thrilling experience with this amazing company! A few weeks ago, I dove into three incredible adventures: we trekked through the majestic Mt. Rainier, embarked on an exhilarating whale watching expedition, and marveled at the stunning Snoqualmie Falls in Seattle. Each tour was absolutely unforgettable! Our guides--Hana, Mathew, and Evan--were nothing short of spectacular! Their enthusiasm, energy, and friendliness made the journeys even more enjoyable, and their deep knowledge about the sights truly enriched our experiences. They went all out to make sure everyone felt right at home, creating a warm, family-like vibe that I absolutely loved. I recently did the Whales and Wildlife tour with Evergreen Escapes and was really impressed! It was VIP service from start to finish. Marty was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgable, friendly, and easily catered to the diverse needs of the tour group. I was picked up and dropped off right at my hotel, which was super convenient. The van was comfortable and pretty roomy since our tour only had 5 people. We stopped at a variety of places and Marty took us on a few short walks, making sure to accommodate everyone's comfort level. We were served a delicious lunch (with a table cloth and real silverware!) and wrapped up with one of the best chocolate chips I've ever had. The van was stocked with a ton of snacks and drinks. Marty also planned out plenty of bathroom breaks along the way. The highlight was going out to see the whales. We saw several orcas up close, which was amazing. Evergreen Escapes provided extra hats and coats to those who needed them. Overall, I had a great time and was really impressed. I wouldn't hesitate to book a tour with them again. read more

My wife and I did both full day tours to Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier National Park, one with Zach and the other one with Lindsey. We were so impressed with both our tour guides Zach and Lindsey and the tours themselves! Because of Zach's and Lindsey's experience as guides and their broad knowledge of the parks, we were able to see and do more than we ever thought possible. Around mid-day on both tours, we were presented a delightful lunch with silverware and china plates that fit our vegan lifestyle but was also great for our non-vegan travel companions (included a meat dish!). Both tours were a combination of sightseeing from our air conditioned 12 person van and multiple short hikes so we could get out into nature and actually experience the park. I would recommend Evergreen (and especially guides Zach and Lindsey) to anyone looking for a great park experience. read more

I had just one day to spend at Olympic National Park, so I definitely needed to join a tour. The Park is so massive that I knew I'd only get a taste of what the Park had to offer. Evergreen Escapes did not disappoint! Marty, our tour guide, was friendly and personable. He offered great tidbits about the region and fun Seattle facts. The locations we visited were absolutely beautiful. It was everything I imagined and more. The package included snacks and lunch. However, I was not expecting the delicious baked goods, pressed coffee, sparkling drinks, trail snacks and healthy catered lunch. The lemon chicken was delicious and I absolutely loved the Kale Caesar salad!! This day trip took care of all my needs and provided me with such an amazing introduction to Olympic National Park. The special day to finally see Mt. St. Helen's was the reason for the trip from the UK to Seattle and Portland. After a week in Portland, waiting and trying to get the day trip from there, frustratingly it just didn't happen so I contacted Evergreen Escapes in Seattle. Couldn't have been easier, straightforward and easy booking, pickup and drop off at the door, with confirmation of the exact time the day before. Jeff our guide /driver was knowledgeable and charming - took such care of us, he was a real sweetie. There were great refreshments and a tasty generous picnic. Can't fault a single thing, what a fantastic company. Would use them again without hesitation. This was my second trip with Evergreen Escapes and it is definitely worth every penny. Not only did we have a fantastic guide in Evan, but everything else was top notch too! We didn't have to worry about a thing as Evan picked us up on time in a new and clean van, there was extra seats in the van so we weren't sitting on top of each other, and he had everything timed perfectly to get the ferry on the way over, drive to the park and then stop at the best parts where we got to see the old growth forests with its towering, moss and lichen covered trees, the tide pools at the shore, visit the beautiful Lake Crescent and see both sides of Hurricane Ridge. I had an amazing experience with this tour! Our guide, Marty, made it all possible, especially the snowshoe hike up the mountains. The trip was comfortable with plenty of snacks, drinks, and rest stops (Marty took us to the well-maintained A1 restrooms, which was a plus). He also shared a lot of interesting history about the towns we passed along the way. The lunch was delicious and vegan-friendly, and I felt completely safe with the snow chains on the tires after the heavy snowfall. We had plenty of photo ops, great hiking, and discovered some hidden spots with breathtaking views. It was a truly memorable experience! read more

We went on the Woodinville Wine Country tour. Excellent customer service the entire trip. Comfortable ride in tour van, wide selection of refreshments offered. Wide variation of wineries offered different views, atmospheres, etc. Last winery stop - unbelievably gorgeous setting with private tour of the cellar from the owner! Plus they were the easiest folks to correspond with. Response times were insanely fast, answering all questions with top level customer service. A great day with Savannah & Marty! The falls were beautiful, and the wineries very interesting and delicious, and each a little different. Savannah was very knowledgeable about many nature aspects of our trip, explaining and pointing things out to us along the way. We kept to the schedule, and certainly did not feel rushed. Both Savannah & Marty were very friendly and accomodating. Water and snacks provided along the way was also a nice touch. Would highly recommend! read more

My wife and I had a great time. The tour was well planned and executed. Kris was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made sure everyone was comfortable and getting what they needed. Would like to have spent a little more time hiking but given the limitations of the group, it wasn't possible. Will definitely use Evergreen again if I have the opportunity and will certainly ask for Kris. read more

The tour was great. Lindsay made our tour. He was great!! It would not have been the same experience and we are so grateful he is a part of our Seattle memories. Engaging, entertaining, informative and accommodating, he went out of his way to show us the highlight of the area. The food was surprisingly good. We just did the Mt. Rannier 10 hr tour. Great experience! Sean, our guide was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job on a rainy day.
