There so cool about it, the residents get a bit of a surprise out of her. She's so good and let's people pet her. I enjoy how they enjoy my emotional support animal, it helps me to. My guy is having trouble with the staff they don't wait for him to finish his restroom break they leave him in the bathroom and he can't walk anymore and no one answers the call lite from the bathroom so he's got to get himself back into his wheelchair and take himself back to his own bed. Which is a Huge thing for him to do, he's on oxygen level 4 and has stage 4 COPD with 20% lung capacity for oxygen in his lungs to supply his body with oxygen, so when he exerts himself his oxygen level drops down into the 60s. Cuz he overexerted himself. The staff is very nice and friendly and helpful and nice to me when I'm there for a visit with Smudges. I believe him when he tells me about the problems he's having with the staff and them not answering the call lites faster than he thinks they should, but he also told me that they aren't bringing him back his pain pills when he's asked for them either. So I don't understand how he's getting overlooked in these situations there. Isn't his needs important when he needs them? I'm a concerned Wife, Thank You, S.R.T.

Back to the staff, I can't say enough good things about them. My mom loves her housekeeper. The wait staff is very good, many are sweet as can be. The receptionists are always friendly and helpful. My dad passed about 8 months after moving in. Two of the management staff, Kathy and Sara, came to the funeral. Kathy even came to visit dad and the family while he was in hospice at another facility. It was very touching. Such wonderful, kind ladies. If you are in need of a senior living home, definitely look at Summit Pointe.

Terrace Glen is such a friendly place and everyone from the receptionist at the front door to the maintenance men have been so welcoming. It's stressful to move at any age but when you are in your 90's it can be overwhelming. We looked at several senior living communities in the area and chose TG. We are so glad we picked Terrace Glen & we feel fortunate to have such a great place so close to us! We definitely recommend looking into TG if you are searching for a senior community.

My Mom has been a resident in assisted living for close to 3 1/2 months. My sisters and my Dad…read morehave been taking turns with her in her room for B/L/D as she needed a bit of support. Currently, she can eat some things on her own, but still needs assistance. She suffers from Dementia and Parkinson's. Due to swallowing issues, she has trouble with bread products and harder stuff such as raisins. My sister had been creating a menu with things crossed off and items circled for about 3 months. We like to work with her in the privacy of her own room. The last 2 months have been difficult. The staff is obviously NOT happy with our arrangement. There have been times when I had to request a different tray, as items were incorrect. As have my Dad at lunch and my sister at dinnertime. Staff has yelled at me with people in the dining room that I could not sit with my Mom. Even though my Dad and sister had been doing just that occasionally. Most of their anger seemed directed at me. Customer service seems to go out the window, as no one there has any idea that when people get upset they may raise their voices. Or swear. Today, I walked in and my mom was sitting in the Dining Room with a pile of pancakes or such in front of her. She was drinking coffee. I said 'let's go back to your room'. I retrieved her menu and went back out. I walked up to the counter and waved it and said loudly 'my Mom could choke on bread. It's not on her menu'. A gal behind the counter told me Mom has the right to say yes or no. Seriously? DO they ask all of their customers suffering for dementia the same question? My Mom can't even recall saying yes or no minutes later. It seems almost to me that the Staff is having pow-pow's and trying to come up with new reasons to frustrate us. Today, I learned my Mom needs to be 'supervised'. Two people came to my Mom's room and the gal said 'you need to calm down'. Now, I do know that IF you want to de-escalate you would not tell someone to "calm down". My Mom could of choked and died. There is nothing they could say that would de-escalate me. The gal turned to leave, and with her back to me said 'Have a Great Day!". Hmm. Wonder what she had wanted to say instead? SO... today, they kicked me out. Because I told them it was the wrong meal and I said a swear word. My Mom could of choked and died. They won't even admit it. Take you own Mom and Dad to them at YOUR OWN RISK.

My mom has not been the most cooperative and they have managed her well. They are always keeping me (her daughter) in the loop of any problems or improvements in her health so I know exactly what is going on with her. They have been phenomenal during COVID in their approach to the center's policies in keeping residents safe. They did experience the virus but I was happy to hear of the stats (number of recoveries) considering what was happening across the world. When visiting, I have found them doing nail care for her and even seeing holiday greeting cards from the Administrator's son's schoolmates (so cute were the messages!) I am treated with respect and understanding and I'm so glad my mom resides at Winslow House Care Center!

⁩ ⁩…read moreI am very angry with the exam Dr. Mathew did on me. He failed as a doctor for a Veteran who needed him. It all started when he decided to do my Traumatic Brain Injury exam the day the Derecho hit Cedar Rapids, 10/10/2020. It was a horrible mistake I would have to pay for the next 2 years. The hospital sustained $400,000 damage and had no power, yet he did my exam with a clip board. Failing to write down nearly all my symptoms, obviously distracted from the days events. He is a paid doctor who does veteran C&P exams, a huge conflict of interest for any veteran from the start, yet alone add 140mphs winds to the mix. He failed to list a single residual I had from over a hundred documented blast injuries. I gave him everything listed on a single piece of paper and he failed as a doctor to list even a single one. He single handedly railroaded my entire health care from that point on. Fast forward 2 years to present time. I have been have had multiple seizures & have broken multiple teeth during these seizures. I have no dental insurance because of his pathetic exam. So I am forced to deal with the pain of broken teeth and swollen gums. I was forced to pay $4800 out of my own pocket to fix my teeth, when it is clearly a military injury. But because of his pathetic exam & because the VBA (Veterans Benefit Administration, or my new acronym Veterans Below Average ) accepts every form of evidence to deny veterans claims. The VBA jumped all over his exam and granted me $133 a month because the exam was inadequate. Dr Mathew and the VBA should be embarrassed of themselves. This is why so many veterans kill themselves. I hope you are proud Dr. Mathew as you provided absolutely no rational for your decision, admitted fault in multiple emails, but nevertheless accepted his money from the VA to give me a exam that has ruined my life and has never made a attempt to fix it. I have more than 3000 explosions/blast concussions in my record and you did not list anything, or probably even read my file. * Absolutely pathetic at any level of care, yet alone a nationaly recognized hospital like St. Luke's* Thanks Dr. Mathew for not fixing your exam in two freaking years or efter clearly aknowledging you did something wrong. Your a piece of work. I will be in contact with your Hospital Advocate now, you have had all the chances your getting from me you piece of crap. If you feel the need to fix the problem, or develope any empathy over the course of your life, I will consider removing this. Until then, I'm WARNING veterans about you! ** Again for the record, all VA people beware of this doctor & record everything at your apt. He does C&P exams for the military, not for you. I called to ask if they provide a cervix dilator before their IUD procedures. I was told by the…read morereceptionist, "The nurse said they will not give you any narcotics just because you asked for them, because the IUD shouldn't be that painful anyway." If you are a woman considering an IUD, and you have not had a baby before, do not go to this clinic. If you are planning to use this clinic, and you have questions about the pain of this procedure, do not ask. They will assume you are drug seeking. I had my first IUD done at Robert A Mesropian Center for Community Care, in New Hampshire. Because of my size and the fact that I have never had a child, they wanted me to use a dilator the night before the procedure. I didn't know, and I didn't apply the pill until the next morning. When they put the IUD in, I was in so much pain that I threw up, and I cramped for the rest of the day. I wasn't given any narcotics from that doctor though, and there's no reason why I would expect that a new doctor would give any narcotics. But, it seems that they also don't offer any dilator's before the procedure, and this is what I wanted to get clear on. Based on my last experience, I would be too afraid to do the procedure without a dilator. Given my past experience, it's reasonable why I would be overwhelmed as I prepare to have the old IUD removed and a new one put in. It's unfortunate that the receptionist is more concerned with trying to "out" potential drug seekers than answering the questions of prospective patients. When it comes to smaller, more personal clinics, the most important thing is feeling safe as a patient. I would never be able to feel safe to share my concerns at this clinic, so there would never be a reason for me to ever go here. Anyone with similar feelings or concerns should also avoid this clinic. Planned Parenthood was much more helpful and supportive on the phone. They do not offer dilator's before their IUD procedures, but it was really easy for me to get that information. They were very kind and understanding as I explained my situation. I may just go back to New Hampshire to have it done. I will also say that I told the receptionist that I would get a recommendation from the doctor who did my first one, in order to verify how unusual my IUD experience was. I don't even think the receptionist heard me. She literally just repeated that the procedure shouldn't be that painful. I don't even know if this clinic offers dilators before the procedure, to be honest. They very well might! So, it really just speaks to the importance of professionalism on the part of the front desk.

Joe was my physical therapist and he was nothing short of professional and approachable. From the start he communicated a very clear plan of attack and made sure i understand that regardless of what was done in the Team Iowa offices I had to make sure to do my exercises at home. With Joe's plan, i was feeling better within 2 weeks and back fully exercising and running without any pain in 6 weeks.
