Several reasons why you should avoid learning and testing here. Here are top 3; 1. They give different bikes for different users. Some are antiques and some are modern bmw sports ride. This will give some users advantage and put others at disadvantages the speedometers won't work on some so you are left guessing how fast to go. And they WILL FAIL YOU if you go too slow. So learn to read speed magically. 2. They ALSO test against the different bikes. If you are LUCKY and get a nice bike you Pass! If you don't, you WILL fail. Why? They won't say what the time limit is But you are tested against time. So all nice BMW bikes get to pass whilst all other bikes, most of them fail. 3. You WILL NOT be prepped for the test. The test has different criteria you should meet than what you practice for And just found out..PAY 50$ to retake endorsement test and guess what... they will TRAIN YOU for the test so you can have prestige runs till you get to a point where you can pass. Apparently this is not included in the Basic course worth 350$. Why? They don't have an answer. So expect to pay another 50$ and hope you pass then cause they got the money! Went here to get my motorcycle permit/endorcement. Reading over some of the other reviews and attending a class and testing, I can see why some ppl dont like the place. Your experience will very a ton depending on who your instructor is. Yes, the instructors will yell at you. You are sitting on a running motorcycle with a helmet on and they are not usually standing right next to you. Personally I told them to yell louder cause I couldnt hear their instructions. Yes, they might make you leave. While attending 3 different things here there was at least one person in each class that was asked to leave/hand to end their time. 2 ppl dropped a bike and not from a stand still. 1 person flipped the bike when they stopped incorrectly. You do get scolded if you roll your sleeves up and forget to roll them down while moving. Though it's not a state law, this is a safety course and if you flip the bike like that one dude then you'll be happy up have sleeves and tough pants. My only complaint is that all the testing is done by paper and pen. As I was testing I somehow shifted alllll my answers down 1 bubble and had to retake a test. They do allow clarification questions so take advantage of it. Some questions are worded a bit odd. All in all it was stressful but a good experience. I think I lucked out for my basic rider course with don and shean (if I remember their names correctly) because they were awesome. One of my endorcement testers was... ok but failed me on .02 second... which feels more like their reaction time and not mine but oh well. They were nice and gave me actionable feedback which helped me act the second try. I'm curious to take some of their more advanced classes once I get more comfortable on my own bike. read more

Do NOT take their Basic Rider Course. This course is accelerated and nothing about it is customized for beginners. Within an hour they expect you to be driving fast and switching gears and turning, despite having never touched a motorcycle before or even driven a manual car. On the range, the instructors demean and yell at new riders who need more time to learn the drill. They also pull new riders aside who are not keeping up with the more experienced riders, and tell them to leave the class. Needless to say, this place doesn't treat you like you're the student and they are here to teach you. Instead they try to weed out newbies quickly. Only the riders with previous experience get to keep going. It's shameful the way this establishment operates and takes advantage of people's time and money. I've taken three classes here, pre-basic, basic, and additional riding. I tried to be thorough, as motorcycles are dangerous tools underneath a new rider. They supply the bikes and helmets, students bring their boots, pants, jackets, gloves. If I didn't think the classes were good I wouldn't have taken so many. That said- the instructors are inconsistent, some very warm and supportive and some condescending and self-absorbed. I suspect it's a hard job to recruit for and it's really a labor of love for the instructors. So even if I didn't enjoy you all- thank you. Some instructors have a great rapport and others Impatiently discourage questions. All instructors have very strict start times. This is in part because they teach adults and it's reasonable to start at the stated start time and not slow everyone down to repeat an intro for those who can't get there on time. Motorcyclists should take it seriously and be responsible adults. The classes start on time rain or shine and there's a lot to learn in a day. Additionally there's often a wait list and people on standby who are happy to start when you don't show up on time. I was lucky enough to get Into one of the classes on that and the person who showed up late and was told to reschedule was pretty angry about it. So get there a little early and don't lose your spot. Take the classes if you're considering getting a motorcycle license. Your odds of safe riding go way up with classes. The material is solid both in-classroom and in the parking lot no matter who delivers it. It's a well-structured curriculum that can be made more or less pleasant by the delivery but not really screwed up. The training seems optimized for getting the student a license to ride, and, like all these entry level classes, teaches how to pass a multiple choice classroom test and ride in a parking lot up to about 20 miles per hour. They teach to the tests which they later administer. That's a lot more than I knew how to do when I walked in and I'm grateful for that and the endorsement I received. Now that I have the license I will continue to look for more advanced courses elsewhere. If you want to get started or refresh your motorcycle skills, and this is geographically convenient for you - sign up fast. The classes all sell out almost as soon as they post the schedule on-line. I'd give it five stars if I had been able to get all my questions answered. I'd also go back and do it again knowing what I know now. read more

Weird and infuriating experience. Never had an experience where a customer rep cries, yells and hangs up on me. I had to cancel my class for a motorcycle training class, so I called them a week prior to the course date and cancelled the class. Lady over the phone told me I would get my refund in 7 business days. Alright awesome. A week later, I was charged. Understandable, so I called them back explaining the situation. Now, they are telling me I cannot get the refund because the course started. OK but I cancelled it a week ago... they had the audacity to say I never called them, do not know who refunded me, and that they do not see my phone number in their call logs... this other lady over the phone explains that she's gonna "ask around", like I know wtf that means. I called them EVERY SINGLE DAY for a week to receive an update. They dont know this mysterious lady who refunded me. Sounds like a scam. They do not buy that I literally called them a week prior, and is refusing to take my evidence (I had a 2 minute phone conversation with Evergreen logged on to my call logs) and I am starting to get really pissed so I called them out on some stuff. She hangs up on me LOL. I called them back and the same girl picks up the phone, and I continue to call them out on their BS. Mind you, I was not yelling nor attacking them personally. Passive-aggressive at best because I was veryyyyy annoyed. This lady was very rude, and was giving me very sarcastic remarks when I told her I wanted to speak to the manager. That didn't help, just telling me I need to understand. LOL understand what? I called them back the next day and said the same thing that Ive been saying for about 2 weeks now. I was talking to the same rude rep and she ends up CRYING saying what do I want. The audacity. She hangs up the phone. I talked to 2 ladies over the course of 2 weeks. one was nice but was getting slowly annoyed with me day by day and the other one was downright rude from the start. I just decided to email them explaining with every single detail I have. I even recorded a video that showed my PLANNER and DIARY on the day I called them first to show that I indeed requested a refund at a proper date. Also the phone call log. They never replied but finally ended up refunding me. Great place to learn how to ride a motorcycle! I was on a basic level. And I have learned how to ride a motorcycle with 0 experience in 2 days (Saturday, Sunday) from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm. The training is divided into two parts: theory and practice. Second day also includes exams. Most people pass exams and are ready to receive motorcycle endorsement ( including me:-) ). The coaches were great - Steve and Rick. They watch every student closely during practical (when you are on motorcycle) exercises and give great advices that allow to progress fast. If you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle in 2 days and get your motorcycle endorsement (with high probability), you should definitely sign up for a basic level course! read more

I took the Basic Rider Course at the Totem Lake location on a scooter. I had done some research to know that only the Totem Lake location guarantees a scooter (sometimes there are a few available at other locations, apparently, but no guarantees!) and since I have no plans to ever ride a motorcycle, I felt this was my best option. Despite the fact that I live in West Seattle. I had no prior experience except a few fun times in Florida 15-20 years ago that I barely remember. I took it during the week, so there were only nine of us, and I admittedly let me nerves get the best of me a few times, but the instructors (Jeff and Bruce) were extremely patient and helpful. The two days get pretty long and tiring (mostly mentally, although physically if it's very hot I bet it would be exhausting!) because there is a lot of information given during those two days. Jeff made it very clear that if you are not in a good headspace, it would be unsafe to continue, but he was able to talk with me through a couple hiccups. I slowly built up my confidence through the course, and I ended up passing the test! Jeff has a lot of experience and a lot of stories, so he was great for the classroom portion as well as helping out on the range. Bruce was a bit less talkative but was really good at showing us how to do each run before letting us loose. I really appreciate the focus on safety and proper technique. I liked the process of starting with the very bare basics and slowly building up to more advanced (but still basic) skills. I am looking forward to getting a scooter, practicing some more, and eventually scooting all around the South and West end of Seattle! read more

SCAMS This place is running an absolute scam. I took the driving portion of the test FIVE times, before my husband learned about what they were doing to me and took the day off work to take me to a legitimate location, to pass my test. The first time they said i failed by 3, then 2 seconds, then 1 second, then 1/2 of a second, then 1/8th of a second... Keep in mind this course is being ran off of a hand held stop watch, not a slow motion camera ffs. After the 5th time of being failed, by a fraction of a second, and having spent over $400... they approached me with "private course," for the bargain deal of $300; in which they assured me I would pass. Im from Vietnam and literally, grew up driving mopeds and motorcycles. This organization makes it a point to fail its trusting students in order to profit off of subsequent testing and private sessions. Im surprised WA State hasnt jerked their right to teach this course yet. I took the Basic Rider course, failed the skills test, took the ARC a month later and passed with flying colors, both at the Totem Lake location. The instructors I had were experienced riders. Pretty much everything they teach you is useful and will save your life one day. Stay away from the Ninja, it's not a beginner bike. My only complaints would be that the basic rider course should contain more practice but I guess that's what the ARC is for, and the course times are inconvenient, like who gets up at 7:30 a.m.??? read more

So here's the summary tl;dr: if you have no riding experience and looking for a beginner's class, this is NOT the school for you. Don't waste your money here. Now onto the details, my experience is very similar to lots of posts here. At the range, once the instructors notice you're nervous or needing some time to pickup the drills (it is supposed to be for people with no riding experience right?) , they will start demotivating you, telling you condescending things like "you're behind the curve" , and "looks like this is not gonna work out". And the demeaning comments get worse every lap. Which of course doesn't help anyone learn anything, and definitely doesn't help with being nervous about your first motorcycle ride! Up to the point where they will take you to the side and tell you that this is not working out and that they'll have to fail you cuz you're becoming a "safety hazard". They even have the nerves to tell you not to worry, you should sign up again and pay them another $250 and hopefully next time you'll "get it". (Not with those instructors you won't!) Anyways, it's pretty clear what's going on here, these guys obviously have a quota of number of failed students they have to fulfill each class to report in some statistics or whatever. So if you're the unlucky winner of your class and were a bit slower (how dare you be slow in a beginners class?!), they'll pick you to be the scape goat and purposefully do their best to fail you and call you a safety hazard. Just stay away from these guys. Pick a school with more integrity. Otherwise they'll tarnish your whole image of motorcycle riding and steer you away from it for life! read more

I had a fairly similar "mixed bag" experience to some folks who left previous reviews here. Signed up to take the two wheel bike safety course as a complete beginner to riding with the hopes of learning the basics. The introductory classroom session provided a considerable bit of important information, much of which pertained to the follow-up riding course in the parking lot that we were scheduled for the next morning. I left the classroom feeling confident and looking forward to learning more on the course the next day. However, my experience riding was less than satisfactory-- there are a variety of things that factored into this being the case. I'll acknowledge that I may not have been picking up the exercises as fast as others in the class, but because the material on the course for day 1 was so condensed into 4.5 hours of riding, there was not a lot of opportunity to practice the exercises until I felt completely comfortable executing them. Then, an hour into the exercises and an experience of laying down the bike, it was discovered that the clutch lever on the motorcycle I was using (provided to me by Evergreen) wasn't properly working. Initially, I was chastised for being sensitive until the instructor tested it and agreed with me. **I noticed another Yelp review made 11 days ago with this same complaint about the clutch lever on a bike. I understand these bikes get laid down a lot, but if this class is actually designed for absolute beginners to succeed, please maintain the equipment you provide to students to the best extent possible-- especially when they have not had the experience of riding on a bike and don't know what to keep an eye out for, and have to sign a liability waiver at the beginning of class including the acknowledgement of any number of serious risk factors. I was switched out for another bike, same model, which put me behind in the exercises, though two of the three instructors generously did their best to get me up to speed with lots of one-on-one coaching. The third instructor was continuously discouraging and unnecessarily condescending, and I was constantly getting mixed signals between the three of them as to how well or not well I was executing the exercises. Ultimately, I ended up pretty flustered, which proved to be hazardous for both myself and the other riders on the course and I was asked to leave the class. **I acknowledge why I was asked to leave that particular riding class session, however, I do not feel as if I was properly set up for success and upon signing my exit paperwork, comments made by said negative instructor included "my apologies for not asking you to leave sooner", "one of the other women in the class also seems to be processing the course information slowly", "do you actually know how a clutch works?" (Yes, I've driven and owned manual transmission vehicles for years, I should not have to justify this nor was it relevant in the moment), and negatively inclined remarks about me being a "severely kinesthetic learner." This instructor suggested I come in and take the written test at a later date, after another instructor suggested I stay around for the written test that was included in this course that I already paid for later in the day, again with the mixed signals. I understand riding a motorcycle is serious business, but from what I have seen and experienced, the moto community is tight knit and intensely encouraging to others in its circle. Don't be a jerk! I forfeit my $250 fee to the class in being asked to leave after riding for 3hrs, without taking the written or the riding test, and was offered the opportunity to take the pre-beginner course free of charge if I signed up for another full price beginners course. This has be the most unprofessional company! The first time I showed up for my class it was rescheduled due to unfortunate circumstance to a staff member. I get a call later that day to reschedule and we confirmed a date and time. They sent me an email with the location and time. I showed up to the location stated in the email, but the directions were not clear. I call the company to find out where the building is located. The lady on the phone was rude and unprofessional. She said there was no class at the location and it was at a different location. I told her it is on my email the location. She had told me it was on my itinerary and that the email was wrong. I was highly upset because how was I supposed to know that I should have followed the itinerary in the attached email and not the body of the email. (Yes, this sounds confusing! I was confused myself) The part that made me even more upset was because I had a frustrated tone, she told me to stop yelling. Then she said there was no more classes and the only option was a refund. I said okay please refund me, right after I said that she hung up on me. One of the best riding experiences I had under the brilliant, patient and ever cheerful tutelage of Bruce, Alma and Dan. They were a constant source of guidance, positive reinforcement and always added an element of fun to the class. Even if you're nervous about riding or getting on a motorcycle, you should do yourself a favor and join their class. Washington residents have a discounted price which they can take advantage of. I took the Basic Riding Course and even though I was nervous about passing not having any experience on riding here in the USA, the 2.5 day course which involved an equal balance between teaching and simulated driving lessons helped ease a lot of that nervousness of passing the exam. My overall experience at this place was pretty pleasant. I was here to take the course to help me get a two wheeler endorsement. The location is quite convenient, right off the freeway. Their bikes are in a decent shape and the facility is quite clean. Most importantly, our group's instructors Tom and Jim were excellent. They are knowledgeable coaches and very friendly and sweet. Not personal experience but, I have sponsored 2 new riders and they both choose this company on their own. Both had bad experiences with the office staff and the way they "teach" new riders. My last friend said the instructor had groups of the class read chapters from the book and then were instructed to teach the rest of the class that chapter. This is just plain laziness to me. This type of teaching may work for some subjects but not motorcycling. Evergreen, you need to change how you do things or the Motorcycling community with chew you up and put you out of business. read more

After not having ridden a motorcycle for 4 years, I decided to take the beginner motorcycle course to brush up on safety and skills. The morning class was good, and I did indeed learn a couple of new things, but was eventually dismissed from the course due to a very reasonable scheduling misunderstanding (See full story below). To keep things short, the instructor changed both the time and duration of lunch but did not clearly communicate the changes to the class. As a result, I showed up 5 minutes late when I thought I was showing up 20 minutes early. I was not issued a refund and to retake the course I would have to re-pay the class fee. When I signed up for the course, I received a class schedule that indicates which hours I'd be spending in a classroom vs out on the course. On this schedule, it showed that students would have an hour for lunch in between the classroom and course sessions. However, before lunch our instructor noted that students without helmets (all but myself and one other student) should arrive 15 minutes early to select a helmet. Our instructor ended up letting the class out early for lunch at 10:52. The words I heard were "be back at 11:45" which I took to mean "be back 15 minutes early to pick up your helmets". Being a very punctual person, I arrived back from lunch at 11:40, even though I already had a helmet. Based on my understanding, I was arriving 20 minutes early and was prepared to sit around while folks selected their helmets. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and as I pulled into class I saw most of the students sitting on motorcycles outside. I quickly put on my helmet and made my way to the class, but as I arrived the instructor signaled me to join him at the front of the class. There, I was informed that I was late and would not be permitted to continue the course. When I let him know it wasn't even 11:45 yet, he informed me that lunch was only 45 minutes, even if we already had a helmet, and that class had let out before 11. This misunderstanding could have been easily avoided if the instructor had just followed the class schedule. If he had not ended class at an unusual time (10:54) and allowed students the full hour that the schedule specified, this wouldn't have happened. What really upsets me is that he didn't wait just a few more minutes for myself and the other student that was late. Given all the changes he made to the schedule, it seemed perfectly reasonable that someone might misunderstand what time we were supposed to be back from lunch. After all, the class was WAY ahead of schedule... it's not as if they couldn't afford to wait for 5 more minutes for those who misunderstood. Being the extremely punctual person I am, this was a very upsetting experience. Again, I thought I was showing up early only to be penalized for a reasonable misunderstanding. I don't yet know if I'll have to re-pay for the course, but regardless, it's unlikely I will attend again - we already get enough BS from the DOL, I don't need more of it from the Evergreen Safety Council. UPDATE: I called their office to ask for a refund, but was told they could not issue refunds despite the unfortunate misunderstanding. Instead, I was offered a discounted rate to re-take the class, which I declined. read more

As a beginner, I was eager to learn and practice the necessary skills to get permit/endorsement as the description of the basic course provides. It is expected that riders who take the course have some experience, but as the name and curriculum might suggest you are still a beginner and should not be expected to be rushed through the training. As I finished first day of the course, I did give few remarks about my wish to change the bike ( Kawasaki Eliminator) for a different one as I was struggling with its stability ( as a beginner might do), but my requests were denied. Next morning was rainy and wet, and I was further stressed due to handling of the bike, my requests for different bike were not met, and I felt rushed and not given enough personal attention as a beginner ( the rest of the group were guys with skills enough to zoom in the parking lot). Eventually I fell and couldn't not continue further. I point out few things that could be improved - different bike ( Eliminator steering wasn't stable for me as another more sporty model would be), not enough personalized attention as the group was just moving through drills. Plus weather conditions provided further stress that might be easier given more personal approach to my needs. So, the $400 was wasted, and I was offered private lesson instead - another $200. I doubt that this offer would work for me. Those who are beginners - please be aware that you might be rushed and expected to perform as you go, and if you need slower pace/more attention (even due to challenging weather conditions) or ask for different bike - you won't get it. As a ski instructor myself, I go beyond to motivate and help students who just starting to learn and give them encouragement, trying to meet their needs, help with equipment, suggestions etc. It is important to encourage, motivate and address repeated requests ( as I did with changing bike) The mentality of this course is simple - pass ( easy if you already have experience) or fail ( if you a beginner, than most probably where you will end) PS - I did have some experience of riding bike prior to course, practicing Kawasaki 650, which felt more comfortable than Eliminator - so I didn't come to the class with "0" hours of riding exactly. A woman in my class dropped her bike TWICE during the test and they passed her anyway. This was about a year ago. I've waited this long so as not to be identified. She dropped her bike TWICE and hit ANOTHER STUDENT with her BIKE and after the assistant guy and lead instructor (who had worked at a local Prep school) argued, the lead instructor passed her anyway and gave her her license. I took this motorcycle course about a year ago, and failed the test. I'm giving them 5 stars because they tried their damndest to get me roadworthy, and I just wasn't ready. Since then, I spent the next 6 months riding (on my permit) and practicing, and this weekend I passed the skills test with a perfect score,100% (the only one in my class). I since moved to Lynnwood, so I chose a different school for my 2nd test, and I'm here to tell you the classes are all the same. You have classroom time, and riding time, and they do their best to get you prepared. The instructors at Evergreen are AWESOME, especially the big brash dude whose name I can't remember right now. This may have been a good company at one time, and may be again in the future, but right now it's office staff is composed of either incompetents or liars. I wanted to get back into riding after not having the time for years. I just signed a contract for a new senior role and decided now was the time, as I was going to be busy. I saw the reviews for Evergreen and contacted them regarding one-on-one training as a refresher. The person I spoke to tried to pressure me into taking the basic riders class again, despite my saying I didn't have time for that and why. They took my information and said they would call me back 'today or maybe tommorow'. They didn't. When I called they apologized, said they were waiting to hear back from a couple of instructors, and promised they would call the next day. Guess what. They didn't. They apologized again and said they would call me tomorrow for sure. But tomorrow is Friday, they don't do one-on-one training on the weekend, and with the new role I won't be able to take the time off for months. I explained this and they said there was nothing they could do. If your time is valuable stay away from this place. read more

I have some riding experience. One of the instructors reached out to me via Facebook when I asked about which company to use to get my endorsement on a WA motorcycle group. The instructor actually decided to do an intermediate class for me. I immediately signed up! Come Saturday, there was myself & 9 other students. Our instructors were Rolf & Rachel. The initial classroom time was great! Very interactive & the years of knowledge was eye opening. I learned quite a few tips & statistics there alone. We had a couple breaks in between topics. The 25 question written test was a breeze due to what we learned in class & the handbook they provided (was closed book). After lunch, we got right into riding. We practiced each exercise a few times. Each time, if needed, each person got more knowledgeable tips catered specifically for them. I think that was the biggest take away from the class. The instructors wanted us to do things right & to be prepared for the open road. I learned a few things there that I'm not sure I would've learned anywhere else. Luckily, I don't have too many bad habits! They even provided sunscreen for ya (weather was great). I honestly feel I benefited so much, that I would have paid more. It's a lot to take in in 8 hours! Evergreen Safety Council - Vocational & Technical School Near Me

I have mixed feelings about my class at Evergreen. We had two instructors, Kelsi and Jeff. I have to say Kelsi was awesome and really did give clear advice on how the riders could improve, in a nice, calm and supportive way. Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and funny as all get out, but needs to be a little more clear on what the point is. He tried, but was definitely growing impatient with some of the riders including myself even though we were trying our hardest and his instructions were just not always clear, we just sort of had to figure it out at times, unsure about what to do. This happened several times. He often left out important points for example, a clear instruction would be "after that green cone stop right away, without skidding" rather than "after the green cones pass your line of vision, stop as soon as you can safely stop, maintaining a smooth stop using the left right technique". If the point is, you need to stop right away because every inch further you go, you get docked points for on the DOL skills test, many of us would have aced that part with little confusion if it was clear what the goal is. I would have stopped before my rear tire ever passed the dang cones. During the WA DOL skills test, I noticed many riders hit the lines, and put their feet down and went way too slow to have the right control, dropped their bikes, during the skills test sections but somehow they all passed, but I failed, and was given very little info about why. I never lost my speed, I never went out of the lines, I eased into every curve and turned at the speed I needed to be at, and felt confident like I had nailed it! Kelsi even told me I "nailed it" after the skills test. While others were frustrated and cussed about messing up several times throughout the court. But guess what?!? They all passed which is awesome, but it was actually extremely confusing when I received my failing score after completing the course with ease. I promise, I am not a hater lol I was glad for them, but confused and given little info. I ended up getting my endorsement after taking a class elsewhere, and I highly prefer the other school I went to! No grey areas, just clear concise instruction, the whole class passed. Now I am happily zooming around the city on my Kawasaki Ninja. I wouldn't recommend Evergreen, unless you get an instructor other than Jeff. read more

These guys are good. Joel was great , and I loved Jim, He brought fun to the table, my kind of biker ! I still feel like I need additional training , not because of anything they didn't do , but because of the choice of bike I decided to buy..it's much bigger than the bike I trained on. I am not a fan of writing reviews but in this case it has to be done, I scheduled a lesson with the school a month in advance, since they don't do weekends I had to take a day off of work, and then on the day of the lesson they figured out that it was not going to work and had to be rescheduled, and with a simple "we are really sorry" they thought it was going to be fine, did I mention I also had to buy some gear in advance to the class? I was in the two day basic rider course which is aimed at people completely new to riding (which almost all of the class were). Each day was split into 2-3 hours of classroom sessions and about 4 hours of riding. The classroom portion goes over the basic controls, safety gear and accident avoidance. I felt this portion was fine and everyone passed the written test so the instruction seemed fine there. I wasn't impressed with the riding portion though. The bikes and equipment provided were in good condition but I really didn't like the format. You're rushed through each lesson and the instructors were yelling at us most of entire time. It felt more like they were drill sergeants than actually interested in teaching people. The entire class was stressed out most of the course and the instructors teaching style made it really difficult to stay calm and actually learn. Their attitude combined with the super fast pace really didn't make it easy to nail all the material (which is a lot for new riders). Ultimately about half of our class passed the tests (myself included) but I still wouldn't feel comfortable out on the road. That part is to be expected with the limited on-bike time but I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're a slower learner and don't handle pressure or stress well. read more

This place really deserves more of a 2.5 Stars. For starters - its not a cheap course. $250 per person for a two day (weekend) class. Its really designed for people who have never ridden before in their life. A portion of the day is spent in class watching old videos of "scenarios" to look out for and a little bit of discussion of different bike types and parts of a motorcycle. The other portion of the class is outside in an enclosed lot no more than 40 - 50 years square. Each person gets to hop on a standard style motorcycles and a few dual sports. Which to me is already a downer because my girlfriend and I had bought crotch rockets and was hoping to learn on something more similar to it. I've ridden before so i knew the basic concepts and understood how to ride and the functioning of the bike. This class goes thru the utmost basic controls for someone who has never done so. I was expecting more "safety" education. What to do in real world situations. Practice how to avoid certain situations and how to react when you do get into those situations. However we were taught how to just ride the motorcycle. The second day involved more video watching and more seat time on how to ride and learning basic maneuvering skills. There wasn't much on road safety, rules of the road, or how to avoid common situations. All in all - I think its over priced for what you get IF you already know how to ride. If you have zero clue what you're doing - its worth the time but I can't say its worth the money. You can save it by practicing in a parking lot on your own. As far as the safety videos they did show... youtube provides more up to date examples. read more
