In July 2020, my neighbor and I got the chain-link fence installed on the back fence---our backyards back on to each other. My neighbors liked my chain-link fencing and, therefore, they decided to go with the same fence for our backyard (thank goodness!). Please note that the original chain-link fences that were installed in 2010 still look great! Atlantic Fence did a great job; e.g. timely installation, got what we wanted, the quote/cost was fair, personnel were professional, etc. The only delay was getting the fence installed was "Call Before You Dig" to come out and mark the yard...it took them 4 weeks! We set up a time to meet with Craig MacArthur (owner) so he could look at our requirements. He came precisely at the time he said he would, took down the info needed and got back to us with an estimate for the job. Although our job was 'just' a fence about 150 linear feet, Craig gave the project and our requests no less attention. He always answered any calls or emails promptly or made a trip out to talk to us directly. We had requested that this work be done in the early spring of this year while the ground is still frozen in hopes it would cause less damage to the landscaping on either side of the fence. Come the last week in April, the fence was 'happening'. Ten hours later we were the proud owners of a new fence. Our experience with Red Isle Contracting was completely seamless from start to finish. I wanted 110 power and would run the power for the automated gate. It was a single gate with a man gate on the side. They had one on video on their website. They are very fairly close to my residence within 45 min. Josh quoted a price for $18,000 to $22,000 installed. No fancy end posts which you might expect at that price. I said I thought this was way too high of a price. He said removing the man gate would only reduce the price $1,000. Really? I asked if he had cheaper and more reasonable options at a lower price range? He got upset at this and said the prices were all in the same range and I could check other dealers! He said they were a family run business and needed to make money. Well not from my account! He hung up on a customer and lost a sale!

We had a huge job to do along nearly the full length of our home on one side, owing a bit of bowing…read morein the siding that had expanded over the years, cracking the parging and making really one heck of a mess in the end. It doesn't help that the water outlets are on that side, too, and we had to install an electrical upgrade that ran all down that side and is attached to the parging at intervals. Too many ways for water to get in behind there, and things started looking pretty rough. We knew we were due for some parging updates in other parts of the house, too, after 27 years from the original. We had a quote from another vendor that was quite a bit cheaper, but what we heard about how they planned to deal with the long wall situation basically sounded like a cosmetic coverup and not really a fix. I remembered that our neighbour had used J and J years ago before selling their home, and their work still looked great there. J and J gave us an estimate that was within our guesstimate frame, told us in detail about how they would fix the wall, showed up reliably, and completed the work in a much faster time frame than I would have thought. Multiple people were on the job the first day, and they had to come back a second day to follow up on finishing the beastly wall, and were delayed by some serious rain, but there was no worry waiting because the site was already weather safe, with the follow up work being mostly cosmetic. The outcome has been very satisfying after years of seeing things slowly crumble. I enjoy being out in the garden without having to try and not look at certain places. In short, it looks seamless and took years off the curb appeal of our home. These folks really are the experts at this in Edmonton, and I would highly recommend them and definitely use them again.
