Every time I go to the Wharf, I usually buy something to support both the business and the artists. The prices are very reasonable, and I don't mind spending money on a product when someone has put so much time and effort into it. I'd much rather buy something handmade than mass-produced. The staff can usually connect you with the artist if you're interested in a custom order. And one thing I got there I'll treasure forever. I was drawn to this piece (see picture) more than anything else in the store. I wanted it for my "cross wall." When I went to pay, the clerk told me I'd just bought the very first piece ever made by an 8‑year‑old. Her grandmother--an artist who also sells things in the shop--is inspiring her to create more pieces to sell.
