Both receptionists were on the phone. Answering calls and ignoring my sign in. After 25 minutes (15 minutes after my appointment) I told one of them I had an appointment 15 minutes ago. She said she would take care of it when her computer opened up. Someone was using it. Wnen her computer was available she helped a man who had just walked in. When she finished with him her phone rang and she answered it. I heard her say she would look that up for them. She started working on her computer. Obviously not on my appointment. Apparently someone on the phone is more important than someone who has been sitting in their office being ignored. I told I would make another appointment and left. As much as I like Dr. Barton I may not make that appointment. This is not the first time it has happened to me.

The scheduler tells me that someone took my phone number down wrong and they have been trying to call me. So, Okay, how long now...their error and he cannot see me for another 5 months.

Over the years, he has been there for me through some of my toughest moments, as well as some of my best. His care has extended far beyond what I believe most people would consider the ordinary responsibilities of a physician. Dr. Choi and all of his staff have made sure I was taken care of even after hours, remained involved through multiple hospitalizations, and consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that I received the care and attention I needed. What distinguishes Dr. Choi from most physicians however, is the way he advocates for his patients. There have been times when I was physically, emotionally, or otherwise unable to advocate for myself, and he stepped into that role without hesitation. Knowing that someone was in my corner--someone who understood my history, listened to me, and genuinely cared about my well-being--made an immeasurable difference. After more than a decade as his patient, I don't view he simply as a physician. I view him as someone who has earned my deepest trust and gratitude through years of compassion, dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to my care.
