The people are really great, but the business model that they are forced to work under is terrible. The website is difficult to navigate. If you want to payoff your loan, you have to go outside your account, and the payoff that they give you has to be paid that day. I asked for the payoff, thinking that the "good for " period would be at least five days. I waited one business day and owed additional interest. They told me if I paid over the phone rather than going to the site outside of my account, they would charge an additional fee. They do everything in their power it seems to keep your loan active. I made a payoff for the additional interest, based on the payoff listed on my account, went back to see if the loan was paid, and there is still an outstanding penny on the loan. They seem to charge interest hourly. I will never get another loan from them. read more

His homeowner policy cancelled on 12/25/2025 because Everwise Credit Union waited until 12/24/2025 to mail the check to the insurance company. By then it was to late and the policy cancelled leaving this individual without insurance for his home! First I have to say we have been customers of this bank since it was TCU, and for many years. I have generally been happy with their telephone customer service, especially since we moved 60 miles from their nearest branch. Today my husband mentioned he had not yet seen our mortgage debit to Forum CU for May. He watches the accounts daily, I pay the bills. This payment is set up with Everwise as a recurring monthly payment, to be initiated on the 6th of each month. When I checked online, I found that our payment order had gone correctly in April, but on May 14 was showing to be paid on May 15 with zeros in the amount field. Which obviously would not have triggered a payment even on the 15th. When I called and asked for activity detail against the payment order, I was told by the Everwise employee that she could not see activity other than posting for such payments, as they are made by an outside agency. When I asked how it could have been changed without me doing it, she again said they have no control over that function. So was I hacked? Was I hacked through the Everwise online app, which we use daily? I was not offered the name of the third party or a way to contact them. After many years of excellent service with this bank, I am really unhappy. I am now questioning the security of the Everwise online app, and am setting up a direct debit from my mortgage bank so this doesn't happen again. Unbelievable. read more

I have done business with several local credit unions for years. Everwise is by far the worst in terms of customer service. I normally do business at the Avon branch. It is often poorly staffed and often you have to wait for someone to help even when the branch is nearly empty. The other problem is that they don't answer the phone! Seems like no matter when you call the branch they want you to leave a message for a later call back. I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM AT OTHER CREDIT UNIONS. Went to the credit union located in st john, indiana on Monday, 4/14/2025 @ 4:58 pm, the location closes at 5pm. As I was walking into the lobby, the manager was coming out to lock the door. Needlesstosay she was not happy to see me. From the moment I arrived at the teller window she was rush, rush, rushing the teller to get me out the door. So incredibly rude....she was dressed inappropriately with tight jeans and eating while in the lobby. The ladies , when it was TCU, were so unbelievably friendly. I received a phone call from an Elijah from Everwise Credit Union on 3/31/2025 to call him back by Tuesday April 1, 2025, for a critical matter. On April 1, 2025, I woke up to go to work and my car was gone. I called Elijah several times, and kept on getting voicemail. I called customer service and kept on being redirected to their repo department who then tells me someone should call me based on order of call received. I asked if I could know the amount remaining, as I would like to resolve this matter today, so I did not accumulate storage fees and additional costs. The customer service agents I spoke to, would not divulge anything. All they said was to wait for a phone call. I have less than 8 months left to pay off the loan and have been paying for 3 years. Now I am trying to settle whatever the delinquent amount is, I can't and must wait for someone to hopefully call me back before more additional storage fees and any other fees get added on. It's very frustrating, that I can't get an answer on what is owed, and not allowed to pay for it until someone calls me at their earliest convenience. I am hoping to get a phone call today, pay whatever is owed and get my car. I will update this review once I get a phone call and resolve this issue. read more

DO NOT bank here-I am in another state with my daughter at a volleyball tournament. I have used my debit card for years to take care of our hotels. They decided to lock my card right before check-in at the hotel leaving me with no ability to check in. After contacting customer service, I was connected to one person after another to eventually be hung up on and not called back as told. When calling them the next morning, they told me, sorry, but they do maintenance at the end of the month on Friday. Which is the worst time for people that are traveling. then proceeded to tell me that I should look into applying for a Visa credit card. Changing banks ASAP as well as my husband. They raised his car interest rate after they said they would not. read more

I don't understand how stupid a company can be as you already know I pay my payment each month and have for 3 years. I gave a 1 star review a couple weeks ago about how Everwise required me to payoff the auto loan that my deceased wife had or they would repossess car. Thankfully I was able to pay off the car. Today I got the title back from Everwise "congratulating" my wife on paying off her car and offering more of their services to her. This is so infuriating. First they threatened me to pay off the car then they congratulated my dead wife on paying off her car. What a horrible bank. I have been a member with TCU for over 20 years. Unfortunately, since the acquisition (rebrand?) as Everwise, nothing works. The app doesn't work, the website doesn't work, and the call center is terrible. I was trying to reset my password for the website and ended up being on the phone with customer service for over 30 minutes. Each time they said they would transfer me, the phone call just goes back to the main customer service line and I have to wait in the queue again, only to explain to the next rep that "transferring me to the online banking team" is not going to work. What a disappointment. Whoever runs these teams should be replaced with someone who can get things in order. read more

I paid them perfectly for 6 years, then I paid the last 3 payments off at once, called to inquire about my title and Amanda said I still owed $.16 cents!!! You read it correctly - $.16 cents!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? - My options for paying the $.16 cents, was to pay it over the phone for a fee of $10.00!!! (ya, that makes a lot of sense)!!!, or come back to Indiana from Illinois and pay the $.16!! (that makes even more sense! Idiots!) I asked to speak with a supervisor (Debbie - she was worse! Where to they get these people???) - I had a $5.00 "share" and told her to just take the damn $.16 out of the $5.00, she said ok, then sent me a cashiers check for $4.84 (REALLY!) Do not use this bank. Their fees are worse then Wells Fargo!!! Was happy with TCU and opened a savings account for $200 as it's not my main bank but wanted to establish some history and possibly use them for other needs in the future. After the switch they charged $10 a month!!! By the time I was able to get over there and close the account I received $126 dollars. The teller didn't even ask me why I was closing the account. I have been a member of TCU for 40 years. I even kept my account when I moved out of South Bend and then out of Indiana. The call center is very busy which may cause you to call back. Since switching to Everwise the app does not work. I found out about the change when the TCU app did not work. I currently have a loan with Everwise. I have been with TCU for over 35 years. Used to love everything about the credit union. Key word used to. As others have stated, TCU changed their website and app format in 2022 and it has been a disaster. The site looks like some preteens designed it. It is very cartoonish looking, hard to navigate, and icons fail to work constantly. I gave it almost a year and it is no better than when it first launched. The heads at TCU in charge are obviously not listening or could care less what members are stating about the new format. Check the App Store and Google Play ratings. I do 99% of my baking on my laptop and phone and I am not putting up with it any longer. I was looking at screen shots of Indiana Members Credit Union app and saw they run the same format that Teachers used to have that is easy and actually works. After Christmas 2022 I am withdrawing all my accounts from TCU and taking my business to Indiana Members. read more

Explained the whole situation, but eventually told her i would upload optional docs, that were not suggested to me by any rep on Tuesday at 8:00 am, i was told i would be Priority and would be contact today is Thursday 4/18 remind you i completed this application on 4/08. I was told told that was it. I had to call again today, because no follow up was made or notification sent for me to sit on hold for 20 minutes for the rep to come back and say they still need more docs. Don't waste your time here please go somewhere else... This has been Customer Service from Hell. I am not submitting more docs when your company clearly has training issues and problem following up. I am a New Customer if you are treating Existing customer's this way shame on you !!!. All Lies and Broken promises. Just making Excuses , i had to follow up and provide all these docs while i am trying to work myself. No voicemail, Email, No Nothing, but you want me to put my money in your facility. I gave you the benefit of the doubt i will be contacting BBB at this point. Answered all security questions and gave the acct info but pretty sure they discriminated against my voice because they asked who they were speaking with many times and told me unfortunately i need to come into the branch for security purposes. the branch closes at 5 i don't get off work in time most days. TCU was wonderful. Everwise has been a nightmare. It was supposed to be a name and logo change, but it was much more. Employees are rude and lack empathy. This bank has changed in so many ways since becoming Everwise. Customer service is horrible. My father was treated awful at the Schererville or Dyer branch. Indianapolis branches have people working from home on a screen at drive thru that answer you as if they hate their job. My friends that I recommended TCU to years ago have had negative experiences after the "name change" as well. I'm not sure what happened but I can't wait to pay my loan off with everwise and leave.
