I saw my film in Screen 5 which is a huge screen with a few rows of comfy premium seats in the middle. Unfortunately the seat I was seating in was on the back row and was worn so much it felt almost like I was sitting on a wood plank. For the ladies who always get stuck waiting in the queue for one of two ladies toilets at cinemas, there are plenty of toilets and room to do makeup. The staff a very friendly and went out of their way to help me. There is also free wifi, yay! Over all a pretty good cinema, but they need to sort out there seating!

This is a much older cinema and as such it is far cheaper than the Vue in Westfeilds. The positives include cheap ticket prices especially for students, a bar for drinks for the movie, and friendly staff. However, the negatives include cramped seats and old cinema. I was particularly uncomfortable during my last visit as the seats are quite cramped. I have short legs at 5.5' so my husband whose much taller than me was super cramped!! This is a massive draw back for movies as you have to sit for a few hours! However, I'm always a fan of Picture House cinemas as they have a more art-house less corporate feel compared to other main stream cinemas. For Stratford, this remains a very good option. Also one final note, it is often cheaper to buy a membership than the tickets. I've now ended up with a membership twice in a row as buying the annual membership is the cheapest option. With a membership you get two free tickets, two pounds off every ticket, and 20% off of drinks. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

The layout is very much the same but the facilities have benefitted from a much needed upgrade like the toilets have been done up, almost all the screens now have premiere seats located at the back. The establishment has decided to get rid of the waffles and replace it with milkshake a instead. Also, they have an array of chocolate bars to add to the shake mixs such as, toffee crisp, malteasers, rollo etc. This is a great addition, especially when you are considering the nice cold drinks to go with the summer films. Additionally, look at your full price receipt brought at the box office as they have been giving out 2 4 1tickets as a nice bonus!

Negative points because of the recent rise in tickets. I remember paying below £7 for several shows once upon a time. That seems like a distant memory now - or perhaps I'm just missing something. When I say hard, I mean not recommended for anyone over 30 years old. The staff talked up the couches "at no extra charge" and I can see why, they don't recline, and have more stains of indeterminate origin than the couches at the playboy mansion. The sound was good, and though smaller than most, the screen was adequate for the room size. The room certainly had an "intimate"feel. If not for the slightly elevated ticket price (£15), the hard seats, and the upholstery that gave you the vague impression that you were sitting in the same spot where some hipster baby had been conceived, it would have been a pleasant enough experience. I can't recommend this until they clean it up and get some padding in the seats though.
