I went to see Spectre at this cinema and I'm afraid to say never again Everyman Muswell Hill!
This cinema has a weird set up where the only seats are on the balcony which means that the screen is so far away from the seats that it becomes very tiny and it is almost like watching a film on TV screen in your living room. Also the quality of the screen is very poor vs other Everyman cinemas (and most cinema chains) plus the sound quality was so poor that is was hard to hear some of the dialogue.
Plus the seats are very close together and each row isn't very raised vs the row in front so if someone is sitting in front of you (pretty common for a movie cinema!) they block out a large chuck of the screen. I spent the entire 2 hours of the films sitting on top of my jacket and perched entirely upright just so I could see the screen (I'm 5"6 so not exactly a short person). So this meant a very uncomfortable cinema experience and a very sore back at the end of it!
We weren't the only people put off by this experience as we saw as least three parties of people leave before the film began the set up was so bad.
I understand that they have only just taken this over from Odeon and they might be putting in a planning application in the future to improve, but right now this cinema simply isn't up to scratch so I won't be returning. read more
