And it used to be pretty busy with Teslas waiting their turn to charge up. Now there are 2 additional Superchargers nearby. The closest is 0.2 miles away near Chipotle and Crumbl (corner of Colima and Albatross), which helped ease the congestion. I still come here to charge up, because there weren't anyone else here charging. More available stalls to select from. Lighting is non-existent here, so illumination sources are from the two light poles closer to the mall. These Tesla Chargers are the older design, so does not have the more familiar and visible (at night) design we are more accustomed to in 2024. So might be a safety concern for some. Incidentally this mall parking lot was the spot where Doc Brown was gunned down by terrorists in Back To The Future. I had no clue the very first time I was at this mall to watch a movie. Anyway, it does what I need from this Tesla Charging Station, so 2 thumbs up from me.

I'm go to the Uniqlo and Shibuya LA all the time, which are fantastic additions for anyone looking for Japanese fashion, skincare, and cosmetics. Several existing retailers have also refreshed their spaces, including Coach and Lululemon, giving the mall a more modern feel. The outdoor plaza and children's play area are wonderful additions for families. It's a great place to relax while kids burn off some energy and the pet-friendly outdoor spaces make it even more inviting. The dining scene has also improved dramatically. With restaurants like Din Tai Fung, North Italia, Kalbi Social Club (KBBQ), The Melt, and Pacific Catch all within steps of the mall. There are plenty of excellent sit-down options for before or after shopping. The addition of LA Fitness and the new apartment complex will likely make this area even more vibrant and lively. Brea Mall has done an impressive job evolving into more than just a shopping center. It's revived the mall and become a true community destination where you can shop, dine, exercise, and spend the day with family and friends.

After Sears closed, they tore it down and are now building a nice outdoor retail/dining area with some decent restaurants. I'm not sure why apartments taking over a mall parking lot are such a big deal, and not sure I would want to live that close to a major mall, but I assume they make money. The one they do is take up parking. Which is my only complaint. Parking here can be a pain. Whatever you do, never park in the parking garage next to Nordstrom's when it's busy. The cars backed up on the street can be insane, and the guys with the flags to control traffic seem to be there only to help pedestrians cross the road. The last time I tried to park there, we ended up on the very top, which was also full, and only got a spot because someone left. Parking behind the men's/houseware Macy's store used to be great, but then they locked those doors. During the holiday, parking is already bad enough, but with this expanded area, it's only going to get worse. Inside the mall, I do love the mix of stores. The food court has just enough variety to make most people happy. It's also a great mall for walking, especially if you end up parking far enough away from an entrance to earn some extra steps.

Drove into Charging station 4, by the time I connected & tried to charge, it showed CCS unavailable. The EA app did not show unavailable, so that was annoying. BUT, charging station 1 was open. Well, of course as luck would have it, as I disconnected someone pulls in & starts charging (Mercedes). A Kia EV was already on Charging 3. Hubby and I were hungry, so we decide to head to Fullerton for dinner. Called ahead, Stubriks had no wait so we went for steak dinner. 1.5 hrs later.....we returned to try again. We were shocked and surprised to see the Kia and Mercedes were still there. Still charging. 1015pm finally, the Kia leaves so we got station 3. Omg so slow, 64 kW max charging speed. It's going to take 43 min to charge from 19% to 80%. Location is good because it's next to Brea Mall and access to freeway is close. The charging speed was atrocious, surprised to not even see this station on Yelp so I went ahead and added EA Brea Mall.

Attempted to use Charging station Hoesung but was not working. Just about to give up when Charging station Tenya opened up. After a couple of hiccups, I called customer service. Hiccup being payment accepted but charging would not connect to EV. This happened about 4-5 times. Charging station Tenya finally worked with customer service having to remotely connect EV-payment-hard reset, so I was to charge for about 8-10 min. Just enough to get through an errand. Customer service was helpful to connect the car remotely. I have Hyundai 2022 Ioniq 5 and cost was around $9.71($0.43/kW + fees) 11 min of charging 18.6 kW delivered Max speed 97kW Why 4 stars? Firstly, I was in a desperate mode. I only had 22%/40 miles radius and I had one stop before heading home. So, I was happy that I got to charge without having to wait an hour at my free charging station EA. The one star deduction was for the pain of not connecting flawlessly and having to call customer service for assistance.

The cheapest time is before 8am - but not sure how many people want to get up extra early to charge before going to work Convenient location with place to go to while charging. Way better than the others located inside business parking lots.
