On October 24, 2025, I fell and fractured my right humerus bone in shoulder. After getting to the scenic overlook on a hike, I needed a photo. When grabbing my phone back, my left foot tripped on the edge of a flat rock in front of me and down I went. My left knee was also injured. Hartford Healthcare, immediate care in Monroe, took good care of me and placed my right arm in a sling. When my orthopedic recommended physical therapy a few weeks later, I had no idea where to go, having barely any experience. Working mostly in Darien, I chose Evolution. Besides real people at the desk, they also have a virtual booking person, which was ultra modern for me! It's a low key facility, quiet, and no loud music. When I began work with Harrison in November I immediately felt at ease by his gentle nature. Frankly, I was pretty scared and exhausted by the traumatic experience I had on 10/24, so he helped me feel more confident and less afraid of actually moving the injured shoulder. As the sessions progress, Harrison pushes me gently, but firmly, and yes, a little more painfully, in order to heal. I appreciate his focus and the one on one attentiveness for the entire sessions! Since the doctor finally said 'no sling', I am now making better progress and hope to drive again soon. God bless all my friends for driving! After my motorcycle accident, I heard all the typical "PT = Pain and Torture" from friends and relatives and I was a bit hesitant to start physical therapy. I couldn't have been more wrong. Brian is extremely personable and knowledgeable when it came to PT and your particular patient needs (he listens!). I was unable to drive and he provided PT in-house and worked around my schedule, and he was always flexible. He gradually worked in new shoulder stretches and techniques that focused on proper form and strength, and 5 months post-op I can already do push-ups and planks! As an OCR athlete full range of motion is very important, Brian ensured that I learned everything I need to continue to improve my mobility and his excitement for physical therapy is infectious. Grace is a consummate professional. I've been working out with her for only a few sessions, but I can already feel the difference in the specific area that we are trying to strengthen. She is a highly trained physio, who obviously has had experience working with professional athletes and weekend warriors, such as myself. I hurt my shoulder and while my doctor encouraged me to get an MRI, I had one visit with Dr. Wolfe who was confident he could fix the issue without the expense of an MRI. With treatments, prescribed exercises, and time, my shoulder is essentially back to 100% and I can get back to living my life pain-free. Dr. Wolfe has a genuine interest in his patient's quality of life and it shows in his work. He's very thorough, spends time with his patients, and explains everything in great detail. Wow Brian had done an amazing job helping me with hip pain that developed from overuse and an earlier horseback riding accident. He followed up, instructed on what the problem was provided homework (PT exercises) to solve the issue and as the pain moved and changed he continued to provide different exercises to help get me back into riding form.
