They do a phenomenal job -- my property always looks great afterward. In addition to the quality of the actual work, I have also found it easy to communicate and work with those in the scheduling department as well as management. Whenever I email them, I routinely get a response in 24 hours (and often times within the same day). And on the day of the work, someone in a supervisory/management role will typically be on hand to make sure everyone is on the same page before the work gets started (especially if I have a specific request or if something has changed from the previous season). Soon after an on-site evaluation, Jim provided a detailed line-estimate that was very competitive. The projects involved hardscaping, drainage and landscaping. The work included installation of a brick paver walkway alongside the driveway; installation of a catch basin and corrugated solid drainpipe to reroute the drainage from the HVAC system away from the house and foundation; removal of a large forsythia bush; creation of mulch beds around existing shrubbery; and installation of an extensive patch of perennial ground cover on a mulch bed. Jim's crew worked diligently and efficiently to complete the multiple projects in a single day, despite the problem presented when cracks in the 43 feet of thick metal drainage pipe were discovered during the excavation to install the sub-grade and base for the paver walkway. Jim quickly and effectively resolved the problem by replacing the old broken pipe with corrugated solid drainpipe and a pop-up emitter, which required an unscheduled run to the supply store. When the job was finished, the crew was meticulous in hauling and dumping all the debris and watering and cleaning up the work area--a welcome conclusion to a job well done. We had hired Stanaitis to install outdoor French drains and window wells to waterproof our basement…read morewhere we had some minor water seepage. We wanted the work done as we had plans to fully finish the already partially finished basement. They finished the job but at the first rainfall, we had more water in the basement that we've ever experienced in the 12 years we lived in the house. The water came in under the floors of the finished section of the basement where we never had any water issues. Additionally, the window wells they installed retained stagnant water and did not drain properly. When we asked John to come fix the issue, he came up with multiple excuses including that we possibly had a spring and indicated that we had cracks in our foundation that could have allowed water to seep in. He basically tried to deflect blame to anything but the work he did and wanted us to pay for additional work to install another drain for the window well issue. We eventually hired a third-party landscaper to assess his work where they determined that he installed the French drain incorrectly (essentially too low that there wasn't enough slope for water to drain through the pipe). He initially disagreed with their assessment but after speaking with them he admitted that his people may have made a mistake. He then offered to fix the issue but from our experience with him at that point, we had lost confidence that he would do the job right. Overall, a disappointing experience!
