Chris has told everyone that he can get your daughter a scholarship. They just want your money.Your daughter will be considered a "cash-cow" to them. If you are on their regional beach team, DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR MONEY - that's a joke. Yes, Christy will smile all day and tell you how awesome your daughter is, etc, and swipe your card. Its a hard sell to parents that are just trying to do their best for their kid and are easily deceived & boy do they lay it on THICK. Next is the whole "Ohana" or 'family' bs they try to sell. I don't care what they say, there is no Ohana or team feel here. Girls/parents screw each other over all the time - its literally a pit of viper parents. Really, its bad - the worst club experience x 100 - because you have to schedule your own partners (NO, they do not help or pay) and schedule your own games - with other moms, complete with ego's & rampant backstabbing that Dakine is aware of but does nothing to step in. Its not much better on the Elite travel team. Fork over $3k for the summer & winter - and if you are not part of the ~10 favored Chris crew - you are just a funding source for them. Know this going in, they WILL treat you and your daughter poorly. They WILL NOT help you with partners to play with. You WILL get lots of smiles and BS, until you figure out (like most of us) you were completely duped. They completely lull you into a sense of security that they will take care of you. THEY DO NOT. And btw, most parents on Elite detest Chris, but have to pander to his narcissistic BS to get attention for their kids. Its pretty pathetic. Just know, there are other orgs out there to consider, before getting sucked in. Just remember he is selling the same lines to every fresh faced girl and mom/dad who walk in there! They depend on the old saying "a sucker born every minute".

Excellent camp this summer for my daughter she learned a bunch from high level coaches.read more

Classes: I haven't had any issues signing up for classes if you register when the class opens, or dropping in for classes. It's been hit or miss based entirely on instructor (in my opinion), so if you find someone you like, try to keep going to that class. Y staff is friendly and helpful, their membership system is pretty slow so just a warning: don't go with member questions if you can help it - it can take forever. Childcare: my daughter likes the child watch, it's got great hours Monday - Thursday (mornings and evenings), then limited hours Fri/sat (mornings). In general the Y is clean and there is space for everyone, though depending on when you go you might need to modify the exact thing you're doing if people are already using your machine or weights etc. I don't usually have an issue and feel like this location is better than other similar gyms in my experience. I'm looking forward to the improvements when they're complete.

I would not recommend. The prices are unreasonable, the YMCA is supposed to be about youth development, health and community, but the prices are absolute robbery.

He's the best at recognizing talent and developing talent. However, it's always up to the boxer to be motivated and to put in the hard work that's required to be a great boxer. That's what Tom is all about. If you want to learn the fundamentals and are dedicated to being the best fighter you can possibly be, then Tom Mustin is the boxing coach that you want to guide you to achieving just that. Tom was the 2000 Sydney Olympics Boxing Head Coach. And because of Tom, the Tacoma Boxing Club has been known for being one of the best boxing clubs in the region for many years.

Tom Mustin is the main coach and has been head coach for the 2000 olympics. Out of this gym have come out world champions such as Rocky Lockridge and Johnny Bumphus and also olympians Davie Armstrong, Leo Randolph, Sugar Ray Seales, and current Queen Underwood. THe guys are constantly qualifying for national teams and Junior Olympics. At local competitions, we ALWAYS blow out all the Seattle teams...ALL. Tom Mustin focuses on technical boxing and not "knockout boxing" like all these other gyms, which is why it has been so successful. Not to mention the price is CHEAP. $10/month for adults and $5/month for adolescents. They also pay for all the trips whether they be vehicle or flights. Practices are Mon-Thurs from 5:30pm - 8/9pm....sometimes weekends for competitions. Sparring sessions are Wednesdays and Thursdays for those looking to compete. We also often have firefighters and officers train there for competitions.

It's easy to start a team or to join as an independent player, the level of player is diverse (with plenty of room for folks new or out of soccer shape), and the general vibe is merry. Pros: - incredibly helpful customer service (go Vanessa!) - easy to join - reasonable price (~70.00 per person if a free agent, less if you make a team) - consistent location (at least for soccer) Cons: - website is a bit stiff to work with - ref experience is generally fine but can vary (all the refs are pleasant but not all are great at calling the game) Personal fit: - you'd need to check the league timing to see whether the days/times work for you - 1 to 2 games per week (7 v 7 sometimes 2, 11 v 11 usually just 1) - I sometimes wish the games were a little longer... (7 v 7 is 25 minute halves) - the style is laid back - it gets competitive but some folks may want more competition than the league will offer - the skill level varies but is very friendly to new/out-of-shape players - some folks may want a more competitive league - minimum of extra rules (e.g., no macho rule) - I love this but may frustrate folks looking for league-restriction of skill level or play style Highly recommend you give the league a try if you think it fits your style.
