My mother's toilet overflowed a few weeks ago and now yesterday it did not flush and maintenance did not show up all day to address it. I am tired of hearing about these problems that I can do nothing about. She carries on about how much money she is paying to be a resident there. Well, maybe they should replace the mechanism in the tank or call in an actual plumber? read more

My mum stayed for short term rehab and they treated her well. She has dementia Alzheimer's and they made sure to get her in physical therapy and speech therapy to keep her active to slower the decline of her disease. Really appreciate all the staff who help my mum during her stay there. read more

My cousin has lived at the long-term care at this facility for about 3 months. I toured about 4 other facilities before settling on this one for her. The grounds are beautiful, and they maintain a nice courtyard for the residents. The building is definitely in need of repair, its old and leaks happen, toilets break ect. The staff has been very kind and have cared for her very well. She requested she have a bed by the window and the admissions office made sure she got it. She's able to view wildlife outside, and check the weather right from her room. Most other facilities I toured didn't put much emphasis on outdoor access, which is a shame since getting sun and fresh air is crucial to everyone's well being. She gets physical therapy every day, and the therapist is excellent, pushing her to exercise more than she really wants, which is good for her. The food is a little lacking as they don't give you a choice, and serve the hot meal at lunch, cold for dinner. Overall she's been content at this place. read more

Brentwood at buckingham for rehab is excellent they are so good to my mom she's been there 3 weeks! Occupational therapists and physical therapists are great. The Rn's and LPNS are amazingly attentive!! The managers are great too amazing care!! Great team work even the housekeepers and the food delivery workers are nice!! read more

My grandma was admitted to Buckingham back when she had a medical emergency that made it difficult to walk. Her main reason there was to help rehabilitate her, so she could get to a level where she can walk again. I'm writing this review based off of both my experiences and my grandma's experiences with the services provided here. From my grandma's point of view as a patient here, she felt that the facility was horrible. She told me that most of the staff was very cold, the beds were uncomfortable, and the food was terrible. She unfortunately also received an allergic reaction to the type of material used for the bedding here, so it made more difficult for her to recover. Although Buckingham offers amenities to cater to Koreans, my grandma felt the food was not that authentic, and we noticed some of the staff was not very proficient at speaking Korean. However, there were some staff members who did stand out. There was a Filipina nurse who my grandma adored! She was genuinely warm and caring. She went above and beyond for my grandma's needs. If you are still there, thank you! Although the physical therapist there was tough too, he helped get the job done. He told me he respected my grandma because he knows she tries her best and does her exercises on her own time. He seemed like he was just trying to help patients get better as soon as possible. There was one bad thing that did happen while my grandma stayed here. In the middle of the night in late November, the heater suddenly stopped working in her room. There wasn't anyone on hand who could fix it for 7 hours until the morning. My grandma couldn't sleep that night because the cold also unfortunately negatively affects her condition. It made it very physically painful for her. I understand that maintenance can't be at hand 24/7, but it was still upsetting to hear that my grandma had to go through that. My own experiences as a visitor were also mixed. Driving to Buckingham is easy enough. There's a long winding road before you get to the facilities. The signs were also clear. There isn't a lot of parking, but I also never had to worry about not finding a space. Due to covid measures, they asked that guests call ahead to make an appointment to see their loved one. When you go to sign in, you put your name, the time you arrived, and whether or not you were vaccinated. It seems that they still allowed unvaccinated guests in. One of the days I tried to make an appointment, the receptionist would pick up the phone and hang up every time I called. She never actually answered. I had to go through the operator three times to try to reach her. On the fourth time, I had to explain what was happening to the operator, so it sounded like the operator herself had to go to the receptionist to tell her to properly pick up the phone. I have no idea what was going on with this situation, but it did feel pretty unprofessional and rude. On the plus side, it looks like you're allowed to bring gifts and anything else that might help your loved one have a more comfortable stay at Buckingham. The only thing is you can't refrigerate anything, so don't bring stuff that needs to be refrigerated! Some examples of stuff I personally got for my grandma was lip balm because the air was dry, anti-itch cream to help her with her allergies with the bedding, and some yogurt to help with her digestion (I only brought her one bottle because yogurt can't keep without refrigeration). In the end, my grandma was rehabilitated. She can walk now, and they provided her with a walker too for free. The physical therapist and at least one of the nurses was fantastic. The facility seemed clean at a glance. The rest of the services were sadly subpar. I understand that some things in my review were out of anyone's control, so I hope you can take that into consideration if you have to use Buckingham to rehabilitate a loved one or yourself. We just unfortunately did not have the best time. read more

Their main elevator at the rehab center, Brentwood at Buckingham has been out of service for about a year, maybe more and they refuse to fix it. They have one small elevator working for all patients, staff and visitor use. Including positive covid patients. EMS crews have a hard time entering and exiting the facility through the small elevator causing pain and discomfort to the patient and separation of crew members due to not all being able to fit in the small elevator. They need to fix the patient elevator immediately before a disaster happens. read more

Our mother was at Buckingham Rehab in Norwood, NJ for five weeks and we cannot thank the staff enough for the excellent job they ALL did to get our mother back to health. She is so strong, so happy and positive and is feeling so much better and we really are so happy with the wonderful care she received at Buckingham Rehab, the entire time she was there. I would definitely recommend Buckingham Rehab to anyone in need, they are really great and they know what they are doing there! THANK YOU to her excellent team-we are forever grateful! I think it's only fair to update the review. Dad came home yesterday, they have conctacted me day after I put up a google review. I told them what happened and since then people at Buckingham has been apologetic and more paid more attention to him. It should've been this way anyways. I like to write here that they did address the issues that we had. ---------------------------------------------------- I would give negative 5 stars if I can. My father wasn't fed nor given anything to drink even if He had asked for day and 2 meals. I had to complain and tell the nurse they haven't checked his medical record. When they realized they made a mistake, no apology but just acted like well will feed him going forward. I didn't make a scene, which i regret not doing. I complained to rehab director, she was kind over the phone. That very day my father's gown was taken Way from him, they never supplied with another gown, so he wore his own clothes and no dinner was served to him. He asked them to get him something and they said the kitchen is closed. I feel very uncomfortable leaving him at the place right now and I want to take him out of there. Only reason I did not go crazy on them was so that they wouldn't treat my dad unfairly. But it seems like I should've done something and pulled him out of there. If this is your only option... I would check on your family constantly. This just is wrong. read more

Think twice before sending your family member here. I saw it first hand when my loved one was asking for medicine while I sat there over 2 hours still not given when I called in am & asked did you get the medicine I was told no they never came back in. My loved one isn't confused or has dementia. When I called numerous times to the nursing station no one answers. I knew something was wrong but too late our loved one passed away. There are other places so do your homework & talk to others. Yes some people had no issues but after this happened then everything was told to us by former workers, neighbors & friends. They're sweet talk is all an act of BS. After our loved one passed no one reached out to us & then asked when we went to pick up their belongings do you want the plant? Really! read more

This goes back to 2004 when my Dad was put in the buckingham without my permission, one of his doctors has a part of the place. My Dad had dementia. The head nurse laughed that he was a screamer. His gold necklace went missing the first day. I brought in a tv for him. 2 weeks later it was not hooked up so I did it myself. They dressed him in someone elses clothes(?)even though I had to mark every item with his name or initials. The assistants couldn't get him out of bed so I showed them how(my Dad was staying with me until a bitch from s.s. decided he wasn't being taken care of properly). I showed up to visit him and walked right by him. He was in a wheelchair, lots of drool and dirty clothes. They told me he had 2 days to live, they never let me know, thank God I went there that day! He wouldn't eat or drink water and a dr. said there was no medical reason. I had brought him an ice cream sundae and he ate some. He died the next day. There is more but the most important is when the folks are in the entertainment room the aides laughed and did nothing to help people screaming for help. So, here it is 2019 and the Buckingham made it impossible to for me to get past this. I believe my dad, in a moment of clarity, decided on suicide. read more

I was discharged from the Buckinhgham Rehab center (Room #312, Penthouse) on 3/9/19....after a 6 week stay. The care I received was beyond excellent; the food was quite good and tasty (the coffee was wanting). I dislocated and multiple fractured (3 places) my left ankle....as a retired physician I never thought I'd walk again, especially at age 88 !!! The physical and occupational therapy I received from Julius Ramos and Michelle Barron were above and beyond....I'm walking, and once again independant. My dad spent 2 months here, first under short term rehabilitation care then custodial care. It was really the best experience. He had been diagnosed with brain cancer and we were all scared and overwhelmed with the weight of the diagnosis and of big decisions. At a time when we needed guidance and support Buckingham (Brentwood) crew were there. We found the staff to be very caring from the nurses, to the cleaning crew, to the social workers, and the rehabilitation specialists. The social worker assigned to my dad was a saint for he worked miracles to provide us with continuous care. Everyone treated my dad with respect and kindness. Meals were on time and delicious. My dad felt hopeful because the vibes were positive. I don't know how we would have gotten through those few weeks if it wasn't for the excellent team at Buckingham. read more

Let me count the ways of dissapointment.. from something that looked like brown and horrible smeared on the curtain in my 90 year old mom's room... no meal options... one room for everyone to eat in and engage in the one and only activity which was bingo... My mom fell in rehab because no one noticed she had rolled off to her room. She would roll out of the building and no one noticed. She fell and had to go back to the hospital. It took them a while to find her because of the scarce staff. She got no ocupstional therapy only physical. But the biggest problem was soon after the 20 days was up and the day after she fell in their facility, they called to say she would be sent home 2 weeks early because she was not progressing. Her aid and PT person said she was. So if you are paying out of pocket which is hard enough, it's not as much as insurance pays and they want those rooms. They were heartless. And rude. I was devistated. My mom is in a new rehab now and I can't believe the difference. Buckingham should be fined or shut down. Horrid place. read more
