December 2018 - January 2019 Beautiful facility - private…read morerooms for rehab residents and looks like a 5 star hotel and we thought that it would be an ideal place for my mother but it wasn't. Note - everyone goes into rehab with different needs. If your loved one needs little to no medical care and is pure rehab (i.e. hip replacement) then this place may be a good fit. My mother (84 years old) had complex medical needs and needed more medical care and more day-to-day help than The Jewish Home was set up to provide. Day-toDay: The aides are critical to the day-to-day comfort and satisfaction of residents/patients and when this group is not managed well, then life until discharge is poor. I met with the supervisor, the director and finally the CEO in order to request changes but found that fundamentally, the supervisors have little to no people management training. My mother rang her call bell with extreme delays in response time. Thirty minutes was not unusual to wait for someone come in to take my mother to the bathroom and then leave my mother alone on the toilet for extreme lengths of time. I found out from an aide that they all went on their break at the same time and they only worked the rooms assigned. So, if a resident was on the toilet and the call bell was on - the resident waited until their aide was available. I finally brought in a private pay "companion" to sit in my mothers room all day so that she could request help by walking to the desk or to call me when there was an issue that I needed to be aware of. (non employee's cannot assist resdients) Medical: I asked for a cardiologist to see my mother and told "he hasn't been into the Jewish Home in more than 3 weeks". When I asked why - the answer was - I have no idea. My first thought was "really?". My second thought was to escalate. I think that top management did not understand, as is often the case for medical facilities, that it should be less about "this is not how we do it" and more about "what should we do differently?". The executive team was kind, caring, and looking to the future but they did not see the little things that mattered so much to residents and to families. I spoke to many, many other residents family members and we shared stories. Some situations were similar i.e. call bell issues and in other cases people had bigger issues than we were experiencing. PT: My mother was not allowed out of her wheelchair unless with PT. PT saw my mother for a short time each day. So my mother spent over 23 hours a day in a wheelchair - little progress was made. My mother's wheelchair was terrible and when asked to swap it out we were told that there weren't enough to do that. PT shared that they were always short on needed equipment which should not be the case in a facility like this. So, finally I gave up and took my mother out of The Jewish Home. She had 24/7 care when she got home and was using her walker within 2 weeks. In closing I want to say - I saw the potential for The Jewish Home rehab facility to be a really, really good place to rehab for any level of care that may be needed. What was missing was management training and soft skill training for their supervisors. I had requested this over and over and I hope at some point following my mother's discharge, this was discussed within the facility.

Allendale Rehabilition and Health Care Center did an absolutely terrific job caring for my 83 year…read moreold mother. Mom was in very good health both mentally and physically prior to becoming ill in November 2023. She had been hospitalized for a respiratory infection (not COVID) and had a reaction to prednisone which caused drug induced delirium. The illness and long hospital stay prior to admittance to Allendale health resulted in my Mom losing weight from 100 lbs to 82 lbs. and she was very weakened physically. It was a very difficult time. I checked out several rehab facilities in Bergen County and was impressed with Allendale Rehabilition and Health Care. They were my first choice. Eli, the Director of Admissions is terrific. He listened and understood our situation and needs and I am so glad we chose Allendale to care for my Mom. The whole staff I found to be outstanding and caring. Special call out to Peter on the staff who brought food to my mom and was able to do the little things that made her happy and helped her manage through her recovery. Kim, the social worker there, also did an outstanding job. My Mom was at Allendale Rehabilition for about 2 weeks and she was able to really make tremendous improvement. The hardest part to be honest was convincing my Mom to go to rehab as she really wanted to go home after the hospital (but simply was not ready). I highly recommend Allendale Rehabilition and Health Center.

We agreed, and upon a friend's high recommendation, chose Emerson. I am forever thankful we did. In the 8 and 1/2 months she was under the care of 2 North amazing staff led by Flavia, my mom DID thrive! She was so well cared for by the nursing staff and the aides. They were responsive, quick to update me and an absolute pleasure every time I came in. They take their residents' care very personally and as a result, it is above and beyond. The recreation staff made daily activities a joy, and my mom, who even in her dementia was very social, fun and feisty, participated in everything from games - both physical and cognitive - to karaoke and attending all the live Friday concerts. Emerson impressed us at every turn. From the efficient admin staff to wonderful Kelly in the salon, to the receptionists and attentive housekeeping staff, we were always greeted with a smile. It truly reflects their corporate culture, which is one of hospitality and excellence in care. Thank you for making the last chapter of her long and well-lived life, one to be remembered fondly.

The entire room was overlooked completely. When brought to their attention, staff attempted to deflect blame by claiming my grandfather was confused. However, both patients in the room corroborated the neglect, and a nurse eventually confirmed the failure around 11:00 PM, hastily bringing them minimal food. The following day, we discovered he had gone 16 hours without his required medication. Furthermore, staff repeatedly denied him physical assistance to use the restroom, instructing him to use an adult brief instead, despite him suffering from severe bedsores from a prior stay at this same facility (which previously resulted in a hospital readmission for suspected sepsis).When he expressed fear and requested to leave, staff dismissed his distress as mere "homesickness." Fortunately, we were able to transfer him to another facility the next afternoon, where he finally received proper medical and comfort care. No patient deserves this level of neglect, let alone a terminal veteran who dedicated 28 years of service to our country.

For example, he ordered the wrong hospital bed, which is now holding up the transfer of a patient. Instead of giving the phone number of the patient's POA, he gave them the patient's phone number, so when we call asking for the status of the bed, they say they have been trying to get in contact but no one answers. There are a dozen other examples, but bottom line is run away from this disaster of a rehab facility. It is a pure money grab, and nothing more. Other than the physical therapists, who are decent, the staff are all F- and the Director should be fired for incompetence.

Nursing staff is understanding to my needs. The aides make sure Im comfortable and help with my daily activities. Deep the unit manager is very helpful, considerate, compassionate. The admissions director Jenny has made this stay at CareOne Oradell amazing as she came to visit me everyday. Very great customer service. Eli the administrator and Favorites the director of rehab has also played a positive role in my stay as I get stronger to return home. I'm very thankful for everyone. The atmosphere and the cleanliness of the facility is well kept and cozy. I can go on and on about the amazing staff at CareOne at Oradell and most of all the quality of cared.

My father spent the last two months of his life at Villa Marie Claire, in the care of its…read moreextraordinary staff, before passing away following a battle with glioblastoma. I never expected to look back on a hospice facility with such fondness, but that is the gift Villa Marie Claire gave our family. First of all, the pictures in the yelp profile are old and were taken before the facility was renovated during COVID. The grounds and facility are beautiful, serene, and peaceful. That peace is part of the care itself. The entire staff is deeply competent, but more importantly, they are warm and loving. During my father's final days, my sister and I stayed in the guest rooms, and even as our hearts were breaking, we felt as though we were being cared for in a hotel. The nursing staff looked after my father with a devotion that felt familial, as if he were one of their own. The food was wonderful, for patients and families alike. Mitch, the head chef, cooks with love. He goes out of his way to keep everyone nourished, but also to form a real bond with each person lucky enough to eat from his kitchen. He learned my father's favorite meals and tracked down oysters and lobster for one of his last dinners. He made chocolate chip cookies on demand for my sister, who has a notorious sweet tooth. The night before my father passed, Mitch sat with me and my sister while we cried, and shared stories of the deep conversations he'd had with my dad, and how much they had meant to him. My mother, who was with my father every day, in many ways was treated like a patient of a different, but equally important, kind. Her needs were tended to as much as my father's. And most of all, I'd like to thank Dr. Charles Vialotti, the resident doctor. As far as I know, he may be the only hospice doctor in the world who lives at his facility, every day of the year. Based on what I observed, the man may never sleep, because his commitment to his patients and their families trumps his need for rest. He has devoted his life to bettering the lives of patients and their loved ones in their darkest moments. He connected with my father, listened to his wishes, and customized his care so that he could be comfortable and at peace. He somehow found hours in his day to spend with us, getting to know our family and offering his wisdom and guidance. He connected deeply with our entire family, sat with us for hours as my father was dying, and made us feel at home. Villa Marie Claire brought light, warmth, understanding, and love into the darkest time of our lives. We are forever grateful, and we will return to thank everyone who cared for my father and for our family. I can't imagine that there could be a better place for any patient and their family.

That is with aids, med techs, house keeping and activity coordinators. Lots of turnover at this location again in many departments. I recently moved my mom out of this facilities memory care unit after she was sent to the ER unresponsive due to dehydration. Doctor said her symptoms were a direct result of dehydration. The level of care is way below average. I found my mother wearing 2pull-ups many times. Even after several conversations and emails to the director it still happened. The tone in which some of the memory care staff speaks to the residence is inappropriate. Their redirecting skills at times are nonexistent. Yelling "Sit down" at someone isn't what these residents deserve or are paying for. Residents are locked out of their rooms all day long. One day a woman was sleeping (slumped over with her head on the table) at the dining table all afternoon then at 4:45pm moved to her dinner table to sleep with her head in the table through dinner. ???? Wheelchair bond residents are rolled in front of the community TV if it's not meal time. The residents that walk are often told to stay in the dining area so the aids can see them more easily. When the activities staff is short(which is often), the resident barely leave the dining area so incredibly sad, again not what they pay for. My mom regularly got the wrong clothes from House keeping. There is a full activities calendar yet more than half of the time the activities don't actually happen. They promote a weekly bus rides. Not sure that actually happened as there is only one licensed driver for the bus. Sales person that toured us around gave us incorrect information. Sorry I didn't listen to my gut and move her out sooner. Stay AWAY!

My (95 yrs old)aunt and uncle weren't in their apt, the front desk staff was too busy fraternizing to tell me they were at the dr's office Today, after three phone calls over the course of day, my uncle was not returning my phone calls. This is a man that usually goes to breakfast, lunch and then stays in his room for the remainder of the day. He has all his faculties and always returns his phone call. I still can't locate him. I called the facility over 45 minutes ago. I pray he's OK. Ridiculous
