I first learned of Excellent Hands through Groupon. Since my initial Groupon, I have purchased two massages as gifts for a friend and family member and a 3-massage package for myself. I used the last one today =( , and if I lived closer, I would undoubtedly purchase a monthly subscription! I will definitely return in the future! Groupon Buyer Beware! Got this Groupon for a Massage from Excellent Hands from my husband. I sensed there was a problem when I was unable to schedule with their online reservations given on the Groupon. I called 3 times over a month and left voice messages on their answering machine and never got a call back until I mentioned that I was contacting Groupon to complain. He called me back immediately and gave me a new online booking website to schedule, yet nothing was available for 6 weeks! and my Groupon would have expired by then. No other solutions were offered and I will not be going there! Not good business practices. read more

Do not go here. I wish I had checked the yelp reviews before purchasing a groupon. The reviews on Groupon were completely incorrect. These reviews are completely consistent with my experience. I paid for 3 massages and have only received one. I have tried multiple times to schedule the additional massages. (Important to note that it's advertised as 60 minute massages on Groupon but he only does 50). I was just charged a booking fee for an appointment that I did not book. Ed refused to resolve the issue for the charge even though it is a problem with his cheap booking site. Terrible customer service, such a headache for the mediocre closet massage. He could have easily refunded the $37 fee charged in error but I suspect this is how he makes his money- screwing people over from Groupon. Currently disputing his charge with my credit card company and Groupon. He does not deserve anyone's money. read more

Really poor customer service when something goes wrong. Other reviews on Facebook seem to confirm this is a consistent issue for Ed. First, know that you will be charged a booking fee, regardless of whether an appointment happens or not. Maybe twice even! Whether you cancel or Excellent Hands cancels on you, you will be charged. I made a booking and was charged twice. When I asked Ed what this was (2 previous sessions never had such a charge, I checked), he brushed it off as if there was nothing he could do. Talk about absolving yourself of any responsibility. The problem is three-fold: First, this fee is never mentioned on the booking site. It says EH needs a credit card to hold the booking, but nowhere does it say a fee is charged. EH better make that change to its site quickly, or someone who cares more will sue. Second, if a mistake is made - like a duplicate charge - he refuses to acknowledge and correct. Third, the aforementioned - regardless if you cancel or he cancels on you (on a whim), the fee is still there. We had an email exchange about the fee, ending with Ed proclaiming that I was no longer welcomed as a customer. Zero resolution of the situation. He could have easily defused and solved this by refunding the fee charges. That's called customer service. Refusing to be accountable for his own services and booking site is pretty ridiculous. It is totally incongruous with good customer service. And to be so thin-skinned as to cancel a booking and refuse future service adds fuel to his poor customer service mentality. In the end, whatever. I bought a Groupon that had 3 services. I only got 2. He didn't fulfill his obligation to provide services. Groupon resolved for me. In the end, no loss. The service and setting were not great to begin with. Tiny closet of a room, inside an office space. On the weekend, he has to come fetch you from the outside. A very odd location. The massage room itself is in one of those inside offices. Just enough room for the massage table and a small desk. Cramped to say the least. No sink or convenient bathroom. Is that sanitary for a massage facility?? Can I wash my hands? Does he? In the end, a poor service and bad business owner. Good riddance. read more

Some people write reviews in haste and speak on matters incorrectly. I am not one of those people and this is not one of those times. I am specifically writing this review to avoid the next person's disaster. Take heed. Ed Hancock MAY be a good massage therapist, but he is a poor businessman who does not have a good handle on his business, unfortunately. We booked him in February 2018 for a corporate event being held in September and promptly submitted payment by invoice for his required deposit. He failed to list the correct address on HIS invoice which resulted in him not receiving the deposit and decided to let me know this 5 months later. I should have canceled him right then, but I didn't. I proceeded to void the first check and to process a new invoice at the correct payee address. I also requested that he send me a copy of his Certificate of Liability Insurance for his onsite services. This was never received and five days later, Mr. Hancock sent me an email backing out of the event. This was likely due to him not having a COI on file, or perhaps just because he is a poor businessman. He said it was because he didn't receive the deposit. Either way, he is not a vendor I would ever use again for business or pleasure and considering most of his other unfavorable reviews, the feeling seems quite mutual with others. My fiancé showed up for a Groupon I purchased for him for Valentine's Day. It was for a hot stone back massage. When he showed up, he was told he couldn't get it bc he has psoriasis on his scalp which is nowhere else on his body btw. I had a massage over the weekend, and there was nothing appropriate about this massage. I left feeling disgusted, scared and creeped out! During the massage, I felt his penis on different parts of my body ( my head, and both my hands) as he was massaging my back. The massage started off some what normal but then escalated to me being totally disgusted. I've had massages by men before and have never had that experience...I even felt his penis flicker as if it was getting erect! My best friend went to this place as well and had the same exact experience. She didn't say anything because she was scared and embarrassed that it had happened, and I don't think it is a coincidence that we had the same experience. I am not sure if others had the same experience but if you have, than you should speak up! This place is a one man business, so while i was there, I kept thinking, if i make a big deal about it then he could do something to me. I purchased a Groupon for 3 hot stone back and neck massages, and when I wanted to book my sessions on line there were no openings for the entire month of April. As my Groupon expires on 18Apr2018 I tried to call. I got the answering machine and left a message. However, my call was never returned. After reading the recent poor reviews I regret having bought this Groupon. It looks like this massage therapist totally oversold on Groupon and Living Social.
