Pool green, landscaping was probably 3 months overdue, the hallways smelled like mold, rolls of carpet were laying in halls ways. There is absolutely no housekeeping being done on windows and doors. If I hadn't already prepaid for the room, I would have canceled the reservation and gone elsewhere. However, the room was at least clean and the lady at the front desk was as cheerful as she could be under the horrible conditions. This by far is not a nice hotel. Next time I will definitely do my homework if I hadn't been in the area in less than a year.

I have checked in with the same lady named Summer and given her my Tax Exemption form and QUESS WHAT.. she never applies it and every time I have to deal with it 3 to 5 days later and she saves the form but doesn't seem to find any time to apply it. I think I have given this place enough chances and I will take my business elsewhere. And I am a frequent traveler so I am not just staying a night or two and just complaining, I stay days and days, sometimes weeks. So my advice is not to stay here unless you are not staying long.

That is where the courtesy ended unfortunately. Their machines weren't working so she had no idea how to check us in. Luckily our card was on file and she eventually "figured it out" so we could go rest in our room. After our check in fiasco we noticed a strange odor in our room immediately. We couldn't place if it was mold or something rotten but it wasn't great. The comforter looked pretty dirty which didn't give me the best feeling. We were absolutely exhausted so we tried to make the best of it. To top things off, the cleaning staff woke us up and our guests who stayed in the room next to us. They were loud, shouting, and caused me to open the door to ask "If everything was ok or was there some sort of emergency situation?" I was polite as could be but you woke up an entire floor while many of us truly needed our rest. Next was the breakfast. The free breakfast here embodied the true meaning of "you get what you pay for" so expectations were set to a lower setting from the get go. There really wasn't much at all for options and it looked as if it was completely not attended to. At first they had no cups even set out for coffee. Then the coffee ran out after one cup, no jelly for the toast, and no one around to ask if we needed any assistance. Others looked just as upset and confused as we did. We looked for anyone at a desk and no one was to be found. I had to open their cabinets and ended up setting out cups for myself and other guests as well. My overall review is please invest in staff training. Please be sure that guests are attended to, especially your weary travelers. We are tired and hungry so if those two needs aren't met, then is there a point to stay? I hope they fix these issues in the future but thankfully I'd choose another place to rest and eat in the future.

They have poor record of occupant and past rooms that they charge for. We were told (and agree) that we will travel to victoria to lodge and that Antler Inn and Executive inn in cuero will no longer recieve our Oil Field business. Sifting through the mess of billing is a nightmare.

Oct 28 is Emma's Birthday... so Magnolia Hotel decided to open the doors to celebrate! Free tours…read morefrom 10am-2pm! I just happened to see something come through my newsfeed over Fb, I bookmarked it, found my schedule open, so headed east to check it out. Emma likes to play in her room... and who doesn't like to play with little spirits?! I didn't know the history of the Magnolia Hotel so was totally clueless walking in the door... Magnolia Hotel has been on Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel. Also, Magnolia Hotel is ~not~ a hotel, it is now a personal residence. To my delight, I was able to hear stories of the old hotel, tales of it's past residents many of which have never left, and how Magnolia Hotel was discovered by the owners. Jim & Erin saved the Magnolia from being demolished... they single handedly have saved a part of Seguin history!... and some haunted history at that! I spent about two hours just hanging out, looking around, and people watching... talked to some interesting people, listening to questions and answers... all very interesting. Did I have an experience? I had something creepy go up the back of my left neck and skull as I was talking to a ghost hunter in the original dining area where the owner was sitting. I also felt some weird things around the house... but something I brushed off at first until I started listening to others talk about it... when you first come up the stairs, it feels really heavy. I originally brushed it off as I just walked up the stairs... but no, go back and you feel it... and everyone was feeling it!!! Emma was playing in her room. One of the guides said just a few minutes earlier, a little girl got scratched. Then someone told her that they saw the door knob in the pink bathroom turn back and forth. The owner, Erin, said this house is more active during the day than at night. Wow! The owners Jim & Erin host a ghost tour in their home on occasion, which books up months in advance. The tour last about 2 hours with in-depth stories which might also include a spiritual reading from the Erin at the end (but only if deceased wish to come forward). Erin has written Haunted New Braunfels, Haunted Seguin, and soon to be released Haunted Magnolia House. All proceeds go towards restoring the Magnolia Hotel. I can not wait to go on their ghost tour!
