I seem to just be the 4 star man at the moment, but that's just because I'm having a lot of great experiences in local businesses! Exmouth Arms is, in its right, a pub, but for pub grub, the burger I had was excellent! I went for the 'Messy Mac & Cheese' burger which comes with regular fries (you can upgrade to dirty fries but this was my 2nd burger in as many days so I refrained) all for £9 - not bad at all for London prices! Washed down with a nice pint of London Lager from local brewery Meantime, it was a meal well enjoyed! Very busy indeed for a Wednesday night and we did have to wait 15 minutes or so for our table, but it has a great vibe in here and was full of a right mix of folks, so no complaints here. I believe Tuesday nights are the quiz night, so if your getting off the train after a long day, pop in for a pint and a burger and quiz the night away! read more

Exmouth arms has had a makeover. It's no longer a 'traditional' pub with carpet, sticky glasses, and the codger in the corner but revitalised as a craft beer pub, with burgers, and rooms! Now it's been taken over by PubLove, who know how to make pubs that you, er, love. (check out publove.co.uk) First, the drinks. The beers - a great selection of draft and bottled - are sublime. I'm a meantime fan and having pale ale on draft, and IPA in bottles, makes me happy, and happy to visit again and again. It's a shame then that the service at the moment is quite amateur, and S L O W. I mean real S L O W. We ordered a taxi, had 9 minutes before it was going to arrive, and thought we'd have a quick snifter in the meantime. Hadn't been served by the time it came. Now, the food. If you like burgers, you'll like this. They have a selection of 10 or so burgers with the options of fries or hashbrowns. The pulled pork burger, for instance, has pulled pork, on top of a burger, in a brioche bun. With pork scratchings on the side just in case you hadn't ingested enough cause for meat sweats. But it's great. Probably my favourite is cheesy burger. Oddly, the first two times I went there the burger and fries were spot on. Rare to medium, perfectly cooked. The third time was overdone, and not cooked respectively. Still, they took the complaint in it's stride. Finally, the rooms. They have dorms so if a few friends are looking for a stopover, then you can stay. It's more of a hostel - shared rooms etc, you get the idea. read more

I visited Exmouth Arms for a beer and burger pairing event. As part of the Pub Love chain, Exmouth Arms serves food by Burger Craft. I'll start with the pub aspect. Pub Love pride themselves on their selection of gins and beers. And the choice is impressive. They have several imports as well as local independent brewers available. And they're nicely laid out and numbered on the wall by the bar. Very efficient. They also have a partnership with Sipsmith, who provide the gin for a Red Snapper cocktail served bottomless as their weekend brunches. I've tried one, it was good. Like a boozier Bloody Mary. I got to try four of their burgers today, and my thoughts were mixed. I should point out though that this was a lot down to personal taste. I wasn't a fan of the Fish & Chips burger (oven baked cod, a beer battered chip, mushy peas and tartare sauce). But then I would never order it on a menu. Those who like fish more than I do really enjoyed it. My favourite of the burgers was the Juicy Bastard. It lived up to its name, it was pretty juicy! And served a little pink in the middle. Perfect. One thing that is evident is that Burger Craft have put the effort into finding top notch ingredients, I'm told from from UK providers. Apparently that put a lot of effort into finding the perfect bun, and I'd say they definitely managed it. The premises itself is nice. A homely kind of pub, but very well kept and modern. read more

I was in London for work and as I had a cheap off peak ticket, I had to wait until after 7pm to get a train home. Rather than working til that time, I arranged to catch up with a friend who lives in London. We met at Euston and my friend then took me to this pub. I had been expecting a visit to one of the chains at the station so was a nice surprise to visit this nice pub. I had some food. It is a normal pub menu. Nothing fancy but the sort of thing you expect from a normal, old fashioned pub (i.e. not a gastropub). I had lasagne which came with chips and salad. I also had onion rings. The menu stated that it was homemade, and it certainly didn't taste like it had been defrosted, so I trust the description. Price wise, it is very good for central London. To accompany my lasagne, I had a glass of merlot. They have a choice of two red wines, both around £6 for a large glass. My friend had pints of ale. I think it is the sort of pub that would have good selections of beer/ale, not that I paid a lot of attention. The decor is typical of a 'proper' pub, nothing fancy just straightforward pub. I liked that the music wasn't loud so you can actually have a conversation (maybe this is a sign I am getting old). Overall, a good place to go that is away from the beaten track a bit. read more

Overall impressions: -nice cider selection -great chips -ample outdoor seating -ideal place for chain smokers -good burgers It's cheaper than most of the pubs in the area and off main roads. Had a celebratory lunch here with people from work (two people just did their PhD upgrade!) Another co-worker happened to walk by one day and saw the burgers, so we had wanted to try it for awhile. They have a great selection of beers! Like really good! A huge selection of bottles that you can have, plus some really interesting beers on draught. I had the snout stout (smoky bacon stout), and it was delicious. I got the sombrero burger as well. It had grilled jalapenos, blue cheese and chipotle ketchup. I think I would have preferred it a bit spicier, but it was a nice burger. What really sold me was the hash brown bites it was sold with. The burger itself was slightly more cooked than I prefer, but I know that at pubs, they're kind of forced to do that with the way the law was written. Next time, I think I'm going to get the burger with pulled pork on top. But I'll probably suggest it as a place to go for drinks with friends due to the great beer selection. read more

I think the pub is attractive enough inside, with a good selection of beers and gins (the best drinks) - these are displayed on the back walls behind the bar so easy to select. I was excited by the menu but underwhelmed by the food when it arrived. I had a farmyard burger (with ham hock and egg), and also upgraded my fries to hot 'n' dirty, i.e. with extra sauces and jalapenos. The burger was kind of forgettable, and the fries were definitely lacking in blue cheese sauce, which was barely there, but the main reason I'd paid the £2 to upgrade. A colleague eating pulled pork orbs found them a bit dry. Others enjoyed their burgers. We stayed for the quiz (on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30). It was pretty bizarre. There wasn't a microphone and the quiz host presumably couldn't project so he just came around to each table and asked a few questions at a time. It was a good quiz, I thought, in terms of the questions and structure, but it just felt very isolated. We won but I have no idea how many other teams were involved! The prize was £30 bar tab, and it cost £1 each to enter. read more

Had lunch here today on a sunny afternoon with 3 workmates. The service was quick and friendly without being overbearing. I really like it as its unpretentious and is definitely somewhere to kick back and relax. All 3 of us had lunch- I went for the chicken, chargrilled broccoli salad with red rice. It was tangy and filling, with some earthy herby flavour. The broccoli was crunchy, adding great texture to the salad. The chicken was smoky and soft but was perhaps just a touch dry. The dressing was light enough to let the flavours of the main ingredients through. I would certainly return here. It's a relaxing place with very decent food if you choose to have it. I got here with my girlfriend at 4 in the afternoon and we settled in until 10 or so. keep it up Exmouth, quality atmosphere with food and drink to back it up. read more

Just finished staying at Publove. Stayed there for 3 night in a 6 bedded all female dorm. The location was great but that's about all that this place has going for it... The rooms looked nothing like the pictures. We were crammed into a tiny room with barely any space to breath. The bathrooms were nice but they were co-ed (which would have been nice to know before booking). Also there was no counter space in the bathrooms to put any of you stuff. It was nice that they offered secure baggage storage because the lockers in the room barely fit anything. They made this place out to seen like a fun party place where everyone would be hanging out at the bar, but the place was a ghost town. With that being said they did continue playing the music all night long (even with no customers), which was very annoying when you're trying to sleep. There was also no common area in this place so if you wanted to just hang out at the hostel you had to buy something at the bar. All in all would not recommend this place if you're looking for a hostel in London. DON'T STAY HERE!!! read more

The Exmouth Arms is a BEAUTIFUL pub, inside and out. It is always festooned with the most gloriously technicolour hanging baskets and window boxes - it's simply a joy to behold. It's stuck somewhat out of the way, in not the nicest part of Euston, but as you're walking through some pretty grotty, dodgy roads you round the corner to behold an explosion of colour. It's just glorious. They are frequent winners of Camden in Bloom. On to something a little more masculine Inside the pub is spacious and well appointed with a long dark wood bar complete with eye level glass shelves and some of the best bar stools I have come across. They have the standard range of lagers, ciders and Guinness, and three (I think) ales. Regrettably one is the ironically named Courage Best, but this is made up for by an Spitfire and an Adnam's. I always have a good pint here. The menu boasts some very straight forward pub food. Sandwiches, pies, jackets, sausage and mash, and an artery clotting all-day-breakfast. I'm not going to lie, the food ain't gonna win no awards. But if you can find a better fish finger sandwich in London then I would very much like to know where. You get a pretty mixed crowd, but this is very much a locals pub. It can get a little be rowdy at times, but where in Central London doesn't on a Friday night? The staff are always charming and efficient, in a very London fashion. Be warned. The distinguished Londoner behind the bar who, to all intents and purposes, looks like the gaffer, does not rule the roost. This is a pub where The Cat is the King. I received a very disdainful look from him last time I was in for sitting in what was evidently his chair. After helping himself to a crisp and receiving a tickle behind the ear he decided we could share and curled up on my lap. So, I would suggest that if you don't like livestock don't sit at the bar! There is a large function room upstairs, some benches out front if you want to enjoy the fragrance of the flora with a B&H, and I believe a juke box, though I haven't tried it out. Also, if you're into that kind of thing (which I am. And proud.) The Exmouth Arms is host to one of the best folk clubs in London, The Cellar Upstairs. So, if you are ever in that neck of the woods, or have an while to wait for a train at Euston Station then have a little walk and discover the Exmouth. You shan't be disappointed! read more

Passable, but not as terrible as most pubs so close to Euston. It's basically average but friendly enough. Would be much better if the lighting wasn't so harsh, it's a bit too much like drinking in a shopping centre. read more

This place was busy from the moment we checked in, rooms are basic but spotlessly clean, take a towel though as they're not provided. Great beer and gin selection food was great, the burgers are amazing, the staff are friendly and most are bilingual. Really cool look to the place and an eclectic mix of cool music from indie through to soul and funk, reggae. read more

To whom it may concern, This noon (13th september 2017), my girlfriend and I decided to have lunch in Exmouth Arms in Euston. At first, we were really excited as I am a beer lover and I heard this pub was quite good. When we got there we saw there were tables outside so we asked if it was possible to eat outside and the waiter told us "yes, of course". We decided to ask for 2 burgers (the cheesy one and the spicy one), one coke and a pint of Mosaic Pale Ale draught beer which were served to us in one of the tables outside. Suddenly, It started to rain so the waiter told us to move to another table that was also outside but this one was covered by an awning. We started to eat and the rain got heavier. Suddenly, they decided to uncover the awning while we were starting to eat so all the drinks and food got absolutely wet. We got in the pub again to ask for any alternative or any other solution since all our food and drinks were completely wet. First, we talked to the cook as there wasn't anyone else around, I asked her to please call the manager. The manager (Phoebe, or at least that is the name she gave us), who at first refused to tell us her name and never gave us her surname to put the complaint, told us we were lying and was incredibly rude to us since the beginning. She first told us there were no male waiters at the pub, so another customer had to help us find the male waiter who served us. Then she joked about us being angry because it was raining when that was clearly not the problem. She even laughed and smiled during the whole talk and refused to give us any alternative or the money. She even told us that we did not eat there and asked for a receipt which was never given to us. We told her that she could see the wet food and drinks outside by herself and the waiter also told her that he had actually served us. Then we asked to put a complaint, first they told us that it was not possible to put the complaint. Finally, she gave us an email to put the complaint which does not appear in any of the contact info of the Publove group. It is in this moment, when she completely refused to give us her name. At last, she told us her name was Phoebe but she again refused to write it down for us. We finally got her name written but we never got her surname. After that, they told us to leave, so not only we couldn't have our lunch but we didn't also get our money back. We have pictures of the paper she gave us with the email and her name and of us with our lunch prior to the incident. We feel robbed. This is the most frustrating situation we have ever experienced in a pub. Please be aware of the staff you hire and their attitude towards customers. We want an immediate response and any solution as we have paid 24 pounds for nothing but rudeness. This type of attitude towards customers is shameful and should not be tolerated. Please, find attached a picture of the paper with the email Phoebe gave us to put the complaint and another picture of the food prior to the incident as a proof that we tried to have lunch there. read more
