I am so glad I started going here! They do a great job on my nails and when I make an appointment they actually see me at that time and not make me wait. I have Hannah do my nails and she does amazing. Not only does she do great manicures but she is quick. She has never hurt me (which we all know happens sometimes). When she wasn't available, Gina has done my nails and she is just as great! They both speak good English and are interactive with customers and easy to talk to. Fun/Friendly environment. Very Festive Decorations. i received a Gel Shellac Manicure and Pedicure on 2 separate occasions. Most recently I came only for a Gel Shellac Manicure. I have had different Nail Techs all three visits. I have felt very rushed. Their nail techs definitely lack quality work and attention to detail. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt by coming three separate occasions, but at the end of services I have always left a little dissatisfied. I did see an issue with cleanliness as well. I personally don't see myself coming back for any services anytime soon. read more

I like that the salon is convenient for me including hours, distance and able to see walk-ins. Have a "guy" do your pedicure. They seem to do a good job. I like Cindy for nails. She is conscientious and does a good job. She is also friendly. They always offer a drink prior. Their prices are around average in the area. It's pretty clean and always decorated to the 9's. Went on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. There wasn't but a 2 min wait and no one else was waiting when we went in to sit down. I feel like price was good. I got a gel basic pedi, boyfriend got a basic pedi, and daughter got a kids basic gel pedi all for $90 not bad. BUT the quality of the pedis were not good. No callus removal even though it says that's a process of the basic pedicure, i picked a color out and the guy said the one he picked was better so he put both on for me to see and gave me 2 seconds to look and choose before he pointed to the empty waiting chairs and said "hurry we have guest waiting". If they would just take the time to actually put in the effort in each guest i think it'd be a great salon but to rush a service that someone is paying for is not acceptable. I'm some one who gets their nails and toes done regularly and this was probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I've never left a salon and not been happy or even just okay with what i walked out with but this trip I'm not even okay with what i have. Thanks to the nice nail tech Sofia, who finished my nails in 30 minutes, my nails is now chipping off not even after 3 days, and my cuticles are all messed up because the manicure she did only took 30 seconds. She basically just puts my hand inside a bowl of water, and start to do my nails, even I told her I want a good mani because I had bad cuticles. First of all, I am very OCD, but I know for a mani that only cost my $30 I can't expect too much. But when I told Sofia there is a hair ( there is really a hair that's about 2 cm long) on the nail, can she took it off before she put my hand in the lamp to dry off, she said " is this your first time doing this? " ???? What is that mean? I can't say anything even you about to put my hand with sock off gel that has a hair in it in a fcking lamp???? She took of the hair not happily, and started to say I should have just let her find out herself and don't teach her how to do her job. That moment I am shocked, I feel like she s about to went all wrong with my nails, so I told her please do a good job I will tip $10. And yes I did tipped $10 like I promised, and went home with a dust inside of one nail which made it pop up, now bothering me every day, and messed up cuticles. My second bad experience there already, definitely will write this review. I have had my nails done here several times before but today was by far the worst experience. I came in for a basic pedicure and shellac manicure. My nails were left with rough edges and had to be filed again. After painting my toes 3 times I was forced to pay the extra money for shellac so that the color on my fingernails would match the color on my toes because the polish would not dry. Two hours and $80 later. No apologies. No offer of a discount. Just "I told you shellac was better". Ridiculous. I paint my toenails at home all the time with regular polish but decided to treat myself today. Waste of time and money. Very disappointing. read more

I use to love it here but had my nails messed up completely. I was there over an hour and half. I had prior things needing to be done after. The nail tech kept messing up my design so I just had to pay and leave. I called and made sure to explain and they told me to come back. I even messaged them pictures on Facebook. I've tried this place over 10 times now. I like them because the little girl chairs are cute and my daughter loves the unicorn decor. My issue is the color! They never look the same once you leave the store. I wish the lighting was better and less artificial. This is the last time I'll go. The color I picked was a reddish brown. It came out reddish orange. The nail tech took under 30 minutes from start to finish and that included removing my previous dip. I had to ask her to straighten out a nail because it was filed so crooked. I also had to ask her to clean them up under my nail bed and to separate my skin from my nails. The pictures posted are AFTER she "cleaned them up." They are also lumpy and have no real constant shape to them. Won't go back. read more

So normally Natalie does my nails powder ,long and ombré and she does an excellent job! The one time she wasn't there and someone else does my refill they left them all lumpy and ugly. Her technique on doing refills was horrible she didn't even put the old powder with the new powder. She even cut me. Also when they put the top coat they left little specs of powder. Never letting anyone else do my nails. It's been a few days and they are already lifting. Smh. read more

This was probably THE WORST nail experience I've ever had! So bad that I find myself leaving this review. I went to this place on Saturday because I didn't feel like driving to my normal place in West Columbia. When I say BIG mistake I mean BIG MISTAKE!!! The guy did a sloppy rush job. The very same day the polish started chipping. I went back on Monday to complain they gave me to the same guy Ken. He did an even worse job if that's even possible. I paid $50.00 plus a $5.00 tip. If you actually want to color you pick out do not come here. I came to this place because my nail technician was out of town on vacation and I needed my nails painted only. I picked out a shellac color that looked nice. as for the variety of color they have a lot to choose from probably too many. But somebody that wants a lot of choices it would be a good fit IF THE COLOR WAS CORRECT. The light was dim as they were painting my nails. After they were done I noticed it looked like it was a brick type red color. Which I would never choose. The color I chose was more of a pinky red. . I asked them for the sample to compare and it was obviously not the same color. You can see this in my photo. They did offer to remove the shellac but I did not have time nor did I want them to use a drill on my nails to remove it which is regular procedure here. If your getting your shellac removed with a drill it bad, very bad for your nails!! They told me if I soaked it off without the drill it would take another hour at least. then the lady asked me what I wanted to do and I said I just wanted to go home and I would live with it for a week until I could see my regular lady. Then she tells me point-blank well you still have to pay!. I responded to her I will pay you I don't have a problem paying you and that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm not trying to not pay. This was clearly the wrong color. I left and I won't be back. And I suggest you don't go there either. In addition, Not to mention how dirty the bottle was. The cuticle clippers were not even in a sterilized bag. My concerned about sanitation in this place was the main reason I didn't let them continue to do my nails. I would have also been over charged, if I didn't inquire about the price. They tried to charge me $45 when it was supposed to be $38. I brought my Grandmother, Mom and niece to get manicures for mothers day. The service was borderline okay. The manicurists are not friendly, nor do they make you feel welcomed. We all got regular manicures, even though we were all consistently pressed to get shellac (which is damaging to your nail). When we left, they tried to deny the 10% coupon they have here on yelp, but did eventually honor it. They also charged full price to paint my 8 year old nieces fingers....just paint them. Now, three days later, my color has chipped away. It typically takes about 1-2 weeks for my nails to chip with regular polish. For the life of me, I can't recall if they even did a top coat. I will never step foot in this place again, myself. And had my Grandmother not been there, I wouldn't have left quietly. read more

The pedicures are adequate. I don't get full sets done but my mom does. She got a full set while I got a pedicure. Like I said my pedicure was OK, but she was very disappointed in her full set compared to the service she gets in San Antonio where she lives. She said that both the shape and the paint job were terrible and she was disappointed with the high cost compared to the low quality. As a general rule this place is very busy and I agree with some of the other reviewer's that they may be rushing people through and compromising quality. read more

Always a nice place to come. They do a great job. Staff is always so nice and friendly. However the service does seem rushed and you feel like cattle as they want you in and out and I feel so rushed and can't relax. When you pay $120 for service you want to feel like you are getting your moneys worth.... Got my nails taken off last week and was sad to see they don't use the acetone method anymore to soak them in but they just kind of take them off with another nail under neath. Kind of hurt me through the whole process. My fingers were really sensitive all week. Other than that it's a very nice clean and affordable place to go. read more

Love how friendly the staff is! I use Kelly and my sisters all fight over David, but we love all of the techs. My nails last me FOREVER and I am always satisfied with the evenness of my nails lengths and the designs. If the tech can't personally do the designs you want, they will have another tech come help out so you always get what you want. Also, they are very informative with different styles and they will recommend holding off if your nails aren't the proper length so you can get the look you want. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Also, I have never been more satisfied when I go get my eyebrows done here. The shaping is the best I've ever had done. Thank you Danny and Staff!!! read more

2/9/2017: Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and kind... and thank you Nina for a great mani and pedi! 1/20/2017: After receiving a personal message and Yelp friend invite from Danny regarding the changes at Expert Nails, I decided to give them another try. I had only been to this salon once and that was over two years ago. It didn't wow me, so I just never went back. I arrived late in the day and the salon was clean, which is very important. I noticed there are big screen TVs to watch and a few really pretty objects in the space that let you know they want it to be aesthetically pleasing to the customers. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. One of my favorite nail tech's from another salon is now working here and she came to say hello. She was available to do my nails and that made me very happy. After being seated in the Pedicure massage chair I was thinking that this place has a lot of Pedicure chairs so this would be a great place for a group outing or special occasion event. Before beginning my pedi, Nina offered me a drink. They have a variety of options. I opted for bottled water, which was really cold and just what I needed. Nina took her time on my Pedicure. She is very sweet and gentle. It was so relaxing I felt like I could go to sleep! About 1/2 way through she put the acetone on my fingernails via the standard pieces of cotton, then wrapping them in foil while she finished my pedi. After my toes were all pretty and perfect, she began my manicure by removing the old shellac and reapplying the new polish. One thing I really appreciate is being asked if I want my nails trimmed, rather than just assuming, which Nina did. I always want my toenails cut because I run and I can't have them touching my running shoes, that drives me nuts. However, I like my fingernails to have a little length. They are shorter than normal right now, which would lead a nail tech to think I keep them short. Always asking before starting to cut is big in my book! Nina remembered some trips I had taken last year and asked about my friends who went with me. She talked to me about things that had been happening in her life since I last saw her and shared some plans she has for her future. She is very personable. When I was ready to leave I used the 10% discount on the Yelp app that came up when I checked in, which was a nice surprise and really appreciated. I was also given a card that they will stamp at each visit and I will save $5 on my 5th and 10th visits and then a free regular Pedicure on my 15th. I love the card and appreciate the discounts! All in all it was a good visit and I will go back. It is my understanding this business was suffering from bad reviews under previous management. They want to try and clean up their reputation. I wish them all the best and will give them my support as long as I get good, friendly service in a nice environment and do not feel that my nail tech is so rushed she cannot relax and pay attention to her customers appropriately. read more

I went here to get my nails done the day before my wedding, told the lady I wanted a manicure to and trim my cuticles before. She used a cuticle softener on my nails, but never washed it off which is what I think led to four of my nails falling off on the day of my wedding day. So I went in on the day of my wedding and got the four fixed, leave and during my wedding another nail falls off! So I had to come back the day after and by this time I was completely over it and didn't even want them to fix it, I just wanted them off. Thought I would ask about a refund since the whole experience was so crappy and unnecessary, but they declined. Bottom line: don't go here! Don't be fooled by a new business with shiny new furniture and equipment. I called to make an appointment and he said "come now, is 2pm okay?" I said yes, on my way. I arrive at 2:07... The manager said "you late!" And he was irritated and walked off. Great. We have a brief confrontation and he said he never said that. Sure. Pedicure is going well, the girl does a thorough job on my feet. She's pretty meticulous. The problem is with the entire establishment... If I get a foot fungus or hepatitis the thorough pedicure just ain't worth it! I watch 6 people come out of the pedicure chair and none of the pedi bowls are cleaned with disinfectant. While people are still in the chairs, the nail tech washes off their tools and wipes the bowl down with dirty rags from the people's pedicure. ABSOLUTELY NO DISINFECTANT IS USED!!! I watched this six times. Then, I watched 4 people go back into the same chairs, bowls dirty. I asked the nail tech about it, and she has the audacity to tell me the bowls get cleaned with disinfectant every morning. Hello, how about between every client? The conversation starts getting loud and the owner starts yelling at me. He told me I didn't see them clean the bowls bc I wasn't paying attention. He storms off. Don't go here! I have been disappointed with my previous salon the past several times that I went so I decided to give this place a try. They do your nails so rushed, that they lack detail. I didn't get anything complicated, just a full set with holographic powder on top. The shape of my nails was great, but the holograph powder that she put on the top did not cover any of the edges so you could see the underlying polish on all of my nails, all of the way around them. The gel began chipping off within a few days. This could just be a one-off bad experience, but as rushed as the technician was from the start,m I will surely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Service is inconsistent. I have occasionally gotten some good people who know what they're doing. The last time I went I got someone who was obviously poorly trained. He put ice in my red wine and it went down hill from there. I purchased the pearl spa cure at $55. It's the most expensive option. He was rough when cutting my nails and too aggressive with my cuticles. I let him know it was hurting, but he went to the next one and ended up hurting both big toes. They even bled. The sugar scrub is my favorite part, but he rushed it and it was over before I knew it. Really every step of the way he handled me like he'd rather be doing something else and he just wanted to get it over with. When he wrapped my legs with the towels they were too hot and burned me. He didn't even check they were okay before wrapping them. When he got to the neck message, it was about four and a half minutes of chopping with thirty seconds of kneading. He spoke very little English and though I showed him the exact color, he brought me the wrong shade. Due to lighting I couldn't tell until afterward. He wasn't able to do this design, he got someone else. I had to ask her to clean around my nails where he got outside the lines, as he didn't do it. I did not leave this experience feeling pampered. I'm pretty sure he talked about me the whole time. To call him unprofessional would be an understatement. No part of the experience was enjoyable. My big toes were immediately sore and by the time I got home they were throbbing. I was up all night hurting. He definitely cut the cuticles down too low. After reading up on the symptoms, I realize this could become a dangerous infection and I may have to see a pediatrist. I will be spending the week end in bed with my foot elevated and I will have to purchase antibiotic ointment. I called and spoke to the manager. He had to put someone else on the phone because his English wasn't good enough. I asked for a refund and encouraged them to retrain him. They wouldn't give me a refund. They assured me that this is something that happens all the time and it should go away in three days. They did not offer to remedy the situation in any way and did not apologize. They did say they would retrain him. I hope they do because I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. I will never go back. The place is pretty inside but they should improve their hiring and training standards. read more
