As we approach spring and yard clean up I want to warn everyone about Zed Gordon Expert Trees. He was recommended by someone my husband works with, unfortunately he is a thief. He initially gave us a quote of $1750. After the first day he asked to be paid $750, which we gladly paid. Then he failed to return several different times. When he did finally return he called me during the day and said he was here finishing it was more work than he anticipated and requested the total amount be $2000, which I agreed to. He called later that day implying he was done (my error I did not explicitly ask if he had completed everything!), I paid by CC the remaining $1250. When I got home from work my yard was destroyed and he was not done. Several more telephone calls and text messages to him, several times he promised to return the next day to finish, 4 months later and our yard is still a mess. Do yourself a favor and do not hire him. I wish I had done my research, I have found many other complaints online about him doing the same to other people. We had them remove 2 trees and grind out the stumps. When they first ground out the stumps there was a lot of rock and debris in the way. When we got it all cleaned out we realized that due to all of the rocks and such in the way there was still some that needed to be ground out. We contacted them and Zed the owner was happy to come back and remove the remaining stumps. Really great service, they cleaned up after themselves and were really great to work with! Do not hire Zed and his company. I hired him to remove a tree in November and grind the stump. He did show up on the day we agreed to and removed most of the tree at a great price. However 2 months later, the stump has not been ground and there is a large chunk of trunk still laying in the front yard. I've tried to contact via the email on the website, the phone number on the website and also text. I gave them the benefit of the doubt throughout the holidays and due to the pandemic but this is very unprofessional. I've now been blocked. There are good reviews but also numerous bad ones. Check out all the bad ones on home advisor and google! LOTS of customers gave 0 stars for situations like mine. This company doesn't do what they agree to do They are unprofessional, dishonest and have horrible customer service. I would not ever recommend them to anyone. Hire a real licensed company. You may have to pay more but at least they will do what you pay them to do! BEWARE. read more

We contracted Zed Gordon of Expert Trees to take out two large trees in our backyard, agreeing on a date of June 25. On that day, he did not show up. We called that afternoon to see where he was and he told us he had some personal issues and couldn't make it that day. Note that he did not call us to tell us about any delay - we had to chase after him. He wanted to re-schedule sometime in the future about 3 weeks but we agreed on a new date of July 8. On that day, he didn't show up again. Calling him in the afternoon, he told us he had just finished up another job and was on the way to our place. But, he didn't show up AGAIN. Repeated calls to him were refused and he has completely ignored us since about the job. We have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from any contractor. If he didn't want the job, he could have just told us instead of lying and then refusing our calls. His actions cost us money and almost a fine from the city. Do yourself a favor and hire a reputable person that you can trust! Rating? A big ZERO. read more
