Michele gave feedback from her previous experiences because she had visited both places, which was very helpful in choosing a location. Also, she provided the pros and cons for both places. She did not push me to book immediately, and told me to take my time to think about which location I would choose, which I really appreciated. The next day, I contacted Michele and finally made my decision! She was completely organized when sending over the authorization form, and sent me all the information regarding my trip via email; the process was straightforward and easy. It was the best decision ever to choose Michele. Making all the plans for an overseas trip can be nerve-racking and challenging, but due to Michele's knowledgeable skills, planning my trip was the total opposite. Waited until 3pm (closing time) to be told that the passport was ready and they would call us when it's done. But travel planning can be daunting so when my sister told me about Tauck I gave them a shot. Now with over a dozen Tauck tours under my belt I can say they're not perfect but pretty darned close. Pricing isn't cheap but a very good value since it's truly all inclusive. I've learned to avoid itineraries involving lengthy bus trips. As part of a group one is forced to socialize with many kinds of people, invariably there are a few annoying blowhards/Debbie Downers, but they can be avoided and most people are nice. Included meals range from just tolerable (river boat and Italy) to abundant and delicious (mostly). I have found Tauck's air department to be disorganized and pricey so I book my own flights. No biggie since I'm a control freak anyway. On the plus side,Tauck uses luxury hotels and incorporates off-the-beaten-track experiences into their itineraries, for example a small funky art gallery in Quebec that I wouldn't have found on my own. Scheduling is somewhat flexible with activity options offered. We do a short pre-stay to rest up beforehand b/c tours can be hectic. Tauck takes care of airport transport, touring, luggage schlepping from inside the room and just about everything else. Tour leaders are well educated, friendly and fun, and do their best to cater to every client's needs. Not an easy job. I don't use a travel agent to book with them, just call direct myself. Book early to get desired dates for popular tours especially cruises. When I travel independently for awhile I miss Tauck's "Tour Nanny" experience and just have to book another one!

My biggest criticism is that the marketing does not accurately reflect the experience. The website presents this as a premium, first-class tour, but that was not my experience. The motorcoach was an ordinary tour bus--the same type commonly used on much less expensive tours. Since we spent many hours on the bus, comfortable seating was important, and I found it lacking. That affected my enjoyment of the entire trip. The included meals were another disappointment. Healthy options were limited, and I rarely finished a meal. Looking around the dining room, I noticed many other guests also left much of their food uneaten. The sightseeing itself was underwhelming. Much of the itinerary consisted of well-known tourist stops that could easily be visited independently. I expected more unique experiences and behind-the-scenes access--things that would justify choosing an organized premium tour. The accommodations were acceptable, and they may well represent some of the better options available in Nova Scotia. However, they still did not match the first-class image that Tauck's advertising creates. My final disappointment involved the airport transfer. My flight was at 4:50 p.m., yet the group was dropped off at the airport around 10:00 a.m. While Tauck advertises that airport transfers are included, requiring guests to spend nearly seven hours waiting at the airport is, in my opinion, an unreasonable interpretation of that promise. Overall, my concern is less about any single issue than about the gap between the marketing and the actual experience. If the tour were advertised honestly as a good-quality, standard coach tour, my expectations would have been different. Instead, I felt the company oversold the experience, and that lack of transparency left me disappointed. Ethics's in this company (Tauck) appears to be nonexistent.

The accommodations were better than expected, the tour guides were outstanding, knowledgeable and entertaining and the bus drivers were polite, attentive and incredibly skilled! No complaints here. My first experience in 2018 was to Italy (a trip of a lifetime) and our tour guide, Gloria, was terrific! Every part of that trip was meticulously planned and we toured some of the most amazing sites in Italy. We were also given ample opportunities to explore on our own. My second trip in 2022 was to Germany, Austria and Switzerland (including the Oberammergau Passion Play) which was delayed for two years due to the worldwide Covid pandemic. That was such a crazy time but it wasn't a problem for us to be patient. I'm so happy we had that trip to look forward to. Again, we had the most wonderful tour guide, Deborah. She was a delight! That trip so beautiful and memorable. Each scenic location took our breath away. I recently returned from another pilgrimage to Poland & the Czech Republic (2025). Once again... nothing but praise for Nawas! Our hotels were excellent, the food was amazing and our tour guide, Bogdan, was a hoot! Our tours were outstanding and, again, we were given plenty of time explore independently. Pure enjoyment! Nawas has always been responsive to emails and well organized. I have been on two other pilgrimages with another well-known Catholic travel company and was incredibly disappointed each time... mostly due to very negative experiences with the tour guides who showed no interest in the welfare of the pilgrims but instead herded us like cattle and YELLED at us if anyone was talking. Very unprofessional. It was clear neither guide enjoyed their jobs. Additionally, we were often taken past important sites on the tours rather than entering them and getting a full tour as we did with Nawas. Needless to say, I will NOT be traveling with that other tour company again (sorry, Peter). (IYKYK). I won't hesitate to participate in future pilgrimages with Nawas! Challenges may arise occasionally, but the key is to be patient and realize that you are paying to experience another culture. Don't expect things to be like home. Nawas International Travel Agency - Let the buyer beware!!!…read moreOur Pilgrimage trip to France was canceled this year because, on the departure date, the pilots of our airline went on strike. The flight was canceled. Our church volunteer tour director was told by Nawas we needed to go to Newark Airport in case they could book us on another flight. The 30+ of us went on a large bus to the airport where we spent the next chaotic 4 hours going to a few different airlines (as told) while the tour director spent most of the time on the phone with Nawas for some definitive guidance. Nawas only communicated with her. There were no flights and we took the bus back to the church parking lot and went home. Nawas called us the next day at noon and said they had a confirmed flight with no information about time, point of departure, or airline. We said no and they hung up. I received a letter from the Vice President of Nawas a while later and it expressed regrets over the situation. However, his letter opened with Dear Traveler. I have a name and it is not Traveler. It spoke volumes about their lack of sincerity or personal concern. It seems their personal caring really stopped at cashing my check to pay for this trip. We did get refunds for the flights, but any other compensation was their offer of $500 toward our next trip with them. Really??? This trip turned into an emergency situation and Nawas chose not to send any information to each of us, only communicating with the, by now, harried tour director. I would not recommend using Nawas for any tour. Their brochures are pretty, colorful, and enticing but their actions in an emergency left us, literally, holding the bag(s) and, ultimately, no refunds for services paid for but not delivered.

First of all, the appointment itself was $99 just to sit there and listen to the sales pitch. They try to sell you basic travel kits for $60 of things you can purchase at CVS for less. Also, the Yellow Fever vaccine is $395. That is insane. I was able to get the typhoid oral vaccination from my primary care doctor, so thankfully I did not have to also purchase that one. She tried to talk me into a rabies series which is ridiculous. I am going on a safari, not living in the bush with wild animals. It was all very unnecessary. I recommend going to the travel Medicine office at Stamford Hospital. They are knowledgeable and will only give you the shots and medications you need for the countries you are traveling to, at a fair price.

The place is run by crooks to make the most money out of you. First of all they say that they accept only credit cards and/or HSA cards, they need credit card as a must before you book the appointment. If you cancel the appointment, they outright charge you. They comfortably word that Insurance might cover it but they do not deal, hence you need to pay and then submit claims to get reimbursed. Most of the insurances do not cover, hence they take money from you first. Also, when you call, they only say the amount is 75$, but she argues that you have accepted 99$ for office visit online and then they also say that the vaccine charges are over 300$ for any vaccine. They specifically try to get all your medical records and suggest vaccines that are not even recommended by your doctor, they try to jack up the amount as much as possible. They ask proof for vaccines and say oh, you took those vaccines so long back, you need to take them again. They are dishonest to the core. They say, show us the proof of calls. Also, when I called their phone number while in office, the agent says, oh boy you did not record the name, time and topic and record the conversation details and you don't have any proof of conversation. Is it even legal to record the conversation without their consent, how any normal person thinks that they are calling a cheating business and must record all conversations. BTW, they do not even disclose what the amount will be. Never go to them, or else you will be screwed.
