The Upper Brook Street hotel is by far one of the best especially, if like me, you are wanting to find a hotel for Manchester Pride. Every August Bank Holiday hotels all over Manchester charge extortionate amounts to stay in the city. This travelodge however works out at around £100-£120 for two nights. So £60 each (£30 a night) or about £40/£30 if you get a family room for 3/4 people. That's a bargain price for a hotel that is just 10 minutes away or less from Canal St in a taxi. This year we used Uber which was never more than £3-£5 to get to the city. The rooms are a great size and the hotel is only a couple of years old so nice a fresh and they have just updated all the beds to super comfy king size! I loved it. So Pride goers or those looking for a night out in Manchester, I recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere at the weekend when the hotels in the city centre are not in your budget.

Yeah, this hotel was pretty good, and the staff were quite friendly and approachable. While they did have a bar, the beer options were quite limited, and not really all that appealing.

The rooms are very well appointed for the price, and are like a very upmarket Travelodge. The provisions are basic, but all the necessary items are provided for. You get your free beverage tray etc. The bathrooms are like pods in the bedrooms, although are much larger than student bathrooms, just pod-shaped. The rooms were impeccably clean, and my parents were more than happy to use the hotel as a resting place. The hotel also has a small café/bar in the ground floor foyer, which, when the hotel is busy, is a fairly perky place to stop for a drink. Breakfast is served here (continental breakfast at an extra charge) as are hot beverages and snacks throughout the day. No one eats here in the evening considering the hotel is built on top of East Z East, but that is no hardship. The hotel's rooms have views over the city rooftops once you get to about the 3rd floor, so the rooms are light and don't feel hugely claustrophobic. If you are looking for a good budget hotel to stay in in Manchester, then look no further!

The rooms to stay in are excellent, nice & clean and at a great price, the place as a whole is well managed and well looked after by the staff. The one thing that does stand out, is the cleanliness of the pub and the cleaning, particularly behind the bar. The pub/hotel is very handy for those shopping in the city centre, which is right near the Fishergate Shopping Centre and those of communters as it is situated across from the railway station.

We often use this as a meeting point before catching a train somewhere such as Lancaster on a night out; it is better than the train station bar with cheaper and better quality food and beers. We stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday We experienced the friendliest of service from start to finish. Really cozy and warmly decorated common rooms for reading, happy hour, socializing, etc. Great breakfast! Even better room service. We enjoyed their room service food so much that we had them pack us a 'to go' for the train back to London. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Simple and very clean. The town of Didsbury is only a short walk away and has everything you need for a lovely spring weekend. We will def. be back the next time we head to the Theatre of Dreams. :)

On arrival theres unlimited bucks fizz and canapes, you're then shown to your tables were there are bottles of red or white wine ( rose if you ask) when your bottle is empty you hold it up and its replaced very quickly meal is pre ordered starter served by you're waiter/ess. main is carvery with meat / veggi / fish choice help yourself to loads of veg / salad choices. pudding is pre ordered and served at your table. Theres a disco, and Christmas themed quiz to follow. You will get a ticket that you exchange at the bar after the meal, thats for your first drink, after that you need to take you're glass with you or you dont get served. All the drinks are named brands and there is no limit on how many times you go back to the bar. At 11.30 they serve mini fish and chips in cones then free bar closes at 12. They are doing a cheap rate on rooms if you would rather stay over. If you add up how much a meal, drink etc costs when they dont come as a package like this you can see what a bargain it is.

We took a taxi here from Manchester Picadilly and it took around 10 minutes. We got a 2 twin room and it was spacious, the washroom was big. They provided real hand soap which is a nice touch along with shampoo and body soap. The air conditioning was working well and was super cold when we first stepped in. Service was great, no complaints. There is free parking for the drivers as well. Salford Quays is a really lovely area as well.

The rooms were clean and comfortable enough, maybe a touch dated, although ours was like an oven when we walked in but this was quickly rectified by cracking open a window and turning off the radiator. The major plus point for me was complete usage of the spa facilities which include a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - the perfect way to unwind before a flight the next day! The bar is a touch on the pricey side, but it is a hotel bar so no surprises there. I'd definitely stay here again if I was flying from Manchester.

Well stayed here last night (07/09/2010) and had a really pleasant stay. The rooms were a good size…read more( although the bed could of been bigger :) ) The parking is across the street and the transport links to Manchester and Leeds are really good. TV - This only had 5 basic channels on, so advise to take a laptop with some Dvd's if u wanting a night in. I do feel £54 was a little steep, but i guess if you are going to use the bar/restraunt then it would be worth it.

We were even allowed to change the wine into two generous coffees after (as we don't usually drink alcohol when eating a good meal) Highly recommended, particularly for the price, and quality of dining venue.
