It was a really cool experience. Pottery and sipping similar to a paint and sip. We went for a V Day event and it was pretty cool. The owner (Simone) taught us different pottery techniques and showed up a catalog for inspiration and let us loose.The entire class was about 90 mins or so and it was worth it. I came here for a little family bonding event and thought it was super cool to just let my creativity flow through pottery. I would have liked to be a little more spaced out as it seemed like we were all so cramped at one thing f the tables. I'm not sure if my family member who booked this arranged it that way or what but it wasn't really a big deal besides the occasional complaint or request that someone move over. I hear pottery and think of the whole wheel technique so that's what I was expecting. However this way was cool too. Simone was patient with us and took the time to explain everything and help us when needed. We were able to bring food and wine and there was soft music playing in the background. I believe there is an option to extend the session by a half hour for $50 because the time really does go fast. We enjoyed ourselves and I'm looking forward to coming back for a date night with the hubster. read more

I would give this space and owner a zero!!!! Run from this place!!! I will never do anything with this business ever!!- below is the experience I had on 4/27/19--/ my daughter 9th birthday party . I wish I had read the reviews( David) before booking this nightmare!!-- this was the text I sent her after the party. Good Morning, hope your Sunday is off to a good start. I just have some questions about the service yesterday for my daughter's party. First I thought we would have help during the party, serving the food and clean up from food , singing happy birthday with my child and serving the cake? Second as I stated in the beginning of the party the utensils that were set out were not enough, no efforts were made to bring additional out or ask if we needed anything, we ended up using the ones I brought when the ones set out were finished . The contract stated dessert plates , we didn't have any. I didn't understand why the party helpers / assistants stayed in the back room the whole time after the slime activity was completed. We had no help with the photo booth ,Pinta activities and giving out cake . I was very disappointed and exhausted after the party . When we spoke prior to the party I recall asking if we can arrive early to set up(1/2 hour) and you stated yes, I don't recall you stating there would a $30 fee , only a fee if party went past the time.The party did not start on time , and I felt rushed to get out at the end . No engagement from Staff , Myself or other guest had to open the door when guest arrive . Not you or any of your staff even said happy birthday to my child. I never saw a smile from you or your staff during the slime activity. During the face painting, my daughter was next to last to get her face painted!! I thought the birthday child goes first!! There was no efforts on you or your staff to make my child feel special about her day. I am very dissatisfied and disgusted with the service yesterday. Maybe you can clarify. I love going out to studios for paint and wine, pottery, wine glass paint night etc. Usually groupon have pretty good deals. But most times we are not aware of the location or the upkeep of the studio... Express yourself studio is pretty good with all the cosmetic part of the studio. It is clean, pretty much organized. They have a clean restroom for it's clients, a coat hanger. It's BYOB and they also provide cups, wine opener and tissue for ur wine. I purchased groupon for wine glass paint afternoon with few girls celebrating a birthday. Instructors and her daughter we're setting up the tables for the class when we walked in. They greeted us and showed us where to out our coats and where the bottle opener and cups were. The instructor also showed us where to sit as we we're group of 9 girls. They provided us with brushes, water, paper towel, paper, colors and pencil. Because this was her first wine glass paint session she wasn't sure what will work most effectively , so she asked us to choose our own design. I was prepared but some others were not. I think next time they should be prepared for students who a don't have designs for their art work. Some student who don't known how to paint or bad at painting, may be they need to help those students out and be more interactive with the clients. It's a class that means instructor is there to help if there is any difficulty with getting art from mind on to the glass or canvas. So they need to be more interactive. Also it was my first glass paint class I wanted to learn more technique or paint on the glass. Instructor needs to teach students proper techniques to paint on glass, canvas, paper anyclass. Overall it think they still need to develop some strategy before class to better assist their clients, because people take these classes for fun but to learn the techniques or these different work of art. My friend and I did their "Coffee & Canvas" on a Sunday. I really loved the bright, colorful space and was immediately inspired. The price includes all the supplies you will need to make your own version of the painting as the teacher leads you through the steps needed to recreate the image. At the end, although the teacher gave us all the same instructions and tips, we each ended up with our own version of the same image. It was a lot of fun. I went to this place for their Cocktails & Canvas night - you come in to make a painting and can bring your own beverages. The owner of the studio instructs you how to paint a picture that everyone is looking at. In the end you all end up with a painting that looks a lot like the picture. If you are Pablo Picasso then this is probably not the place for you. You would not get too much from having someone giving you step by step instructions on how to paint; it would probably stifly your creativity. But if you are just a regular person who wants to do this for fun and have a reasonably good picture to hang on your wall, then try it out. I do recommend bringing a friend, because I went by myself and everyone else there were in their own private conversation catching up with the friends they had brought. I had hoped for a better dynamic, which finally came towards the end, but bring a friend and try it. You'll like it! read more

I took my mom and sister here for Coffee and Canvas on Sundays and we had a lovely time! There was another family of three who participated that day so it was relaxing and enjoyable on a cold afternoon. The owner/instructor walks you through the painting process so you don't have to be "good". At the end of it all, you walk away with a cool little painting. The studio seems like it can accommodate a large group and would be a great idea for a girls night or birthday party. I'll be back for sure! read more

Then an hour later, I received a call from the business saying they had to cancel the session at the last minute. They were so unprofessional and rude! Made a reservation about 3-4 weeks in advance only to show up and the place was not opened. I drove 35 minutes to this place which frustrated me even more. I take my kids here for Simone's class at noon during weekdays and they love it. Simone gives enough direction to help the kids learn new art techniques but still allows them to express their creativity. The studio is always clean and Simone is always prepared. read more

I purchased the class off living social. We took the pottery class it was very interesting and fun. The place is bright and welcoming. We meant some awesome people there. The instructor did try to delay the class for lil bit because of parking and traffic that was considerate of other clients. Con's ----Customer Service was 1-5 I will give the instructor a 3. We walked in and did not get a warm greeting and no instruction of wear to sit. Our time was running out we not instructed we have only few minutes please start finishing your project. If you think you going to pottery class and it's going to be like the ghost movie you are wrong. lol And your item is not getting painted that day because it will not be dry. There is not a oven there to speed up the process to dry the pottery. I think she said you have to wait 7 days for it to dry. My kids and I went for an afternoon of painting. The artwork we walked away with was fine - but the atmosphere in the place just doesn't lend it self to a nice experience. In summary, they aren't very friendly and don't seem to really enjoy what they do which seems to defeat the purpose. Complete lack of enthusiasm bordering on rude. I purchased a 2 for 1 evening here from Living Social and called 11 days before expiration and was told there were no openings for 29 days so they would not honor the 2 for 1. They said they were willing to honor through the 22nd day but I was out of luck since they were full. They said I could book on the 29th day for just one person (I had given it as a gift so not an option) or pay for the 2nd person, or try to get my money back from Living Social. My two sons attended a few sessions of art camp this summer (as daily drop-ins). One week they studied and painted Van Gogh, the following week they studied/painted Roy Lichtenstein. I LOVE the art they came home with! Each painting captures the style of the artist who inspired it. The staff at Express Yourself Studios is very friendly and professional. I purchased a Living Social Pinot & Pottery for two in February and emailed to make the appoint right away when I saw on their website that they were only offered on Wednesdays. Just got back from trying to go tonight. Walked up to the door on time (after a 30 minute drive in traffic) and their was a sign "Closed Tonight". I called and left a message. The owner called me back and said "my son was sick so I cancelled and thought I called everyone, sorry, didn't have your phone number". I came home and looked at the confirmation email I had from her in February and CLEARLY, my phone number was on the email.
