The project took approximately 10 weeks once permits were obtained and involved 3 work crews along with individual specialists. The total quoted estimate was just over $40,000.00 and was met without complication. While major construction projects are inherently stressful for almost any homeowner, especially during a time of pandemic, Exquisite made the process as painless as possible. Though there may have been a couple of unforeseen hiccups, both my wife and I are thrilled with the results. Specifically, I would give Exquisite top marks in the following areas: 1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was consistently first rate. The subcontractors Exquisite used were knowledgeable, skilled, and competent in their respective trades. They were conscientious about following project specifications. 2. Quality of work crews. The Exquisite crews involved were professional, reliable, courteous, and respectful of our property and privacy. They had an old school work ethic of good work habits, strong safety orientation, and emphasized getting the job done right rather than doing it fast. Their pride in their work was always evident. They tidied up at the end of each workday. 3. Project management and coordination. Our project manager Marty, was knowledgeable about all aspects of our project, and was able to plan, coordinate and manage the activities of different work crews effectively. He remained closely involved in overseeing the project from start to finish. Finally, our equipment instructor Colt, was able to teach us all aspects of filter / pump operation. What appeared daunting became easy with his expert guidance. Because of this and other reasons too numerous to list, I recommend Exquisite Pools and Spa WITHOUT RESERVATION. When we decided to put in a pool in New Smyrna Beach, I did a lot of research. A _lot_. It was a big purchase and I felt like I couldn't get too many estimates, learn too much about potential pool finishes, chlorination systems, etc. I met with a lot of pool contractors and pool salesmen. Immediately Casey from Exquisite Pool was different. He wasn't interested in upselling me on a spa, fountain, and high end decking. He was happy to build the no-frills pool we wanted, suggesting only minor changes that turned out to be some of our favorite features, and weren't additional expenses. He was really frank about pool finishes and which upgrades were a waste of money. He was the definition of a "straight shooter," which is a trait I really value in a contractor. When the time came to make a decision, Casey took us on a tour of pools he'd built in the DeLand area. Immediately we noticed a few of things: 1) These weren't just pools built in the last six months. Some of them were 5-6 years old, still looked great, and Casey was proud of them. 2) Everyone was happy to see him and gushed about what a great job Exquisite did with their pool. 3) Casey was happy to help people out, long after he'd finished up the job. At one house we were stopping both to inspect the pool and so Casey could drop off his pressure washer so the owner could clean off his pool enclosure. Our pool came in exactly at the price Exquisite Pool quoted (aside from an upgrade we suggested at the last minute that he graciously accommodated) and on time. He was in frequently communication about the stages of construction (since we weren't around during it). We absolutely love it and everyone who's come over to swim has remarked about how good it looks. About 6 years ago we had a pool put in. We chose many upgrades. One upgrade was our screen to a better quality. The most expensive offered. Today we needed a few screens fixed only to find out although we paid for the upgraded screen we never received the upgrade quality screen. We didn't leave a review 6 years ago, although the finished product was our beautiful pool. We didn't leave a review because the owner Casey was not a a "quality" person. We thought we got a beautiful product, his workers worked hard, and we had an incredible lead foreman. However, our gut feeling after a 12 week installation proved true to us 6 years later. We hired Exquisite and did not know what to expect since we had not had a pool constructed before. If you watch those TV shows where the pool is permitted and constructed in 6 weeks...forget about that, that is not reality. Expect the construction to take 8+ months as there are 96 separate phases in the build process. Then there is the weather, temperature, employees personal life/health, and a limited pool of skilled talent in the Deland area to draw upon. All that being said, Casey and his team stepped up and truly delivered a beautiful, quality pool. Exquisite's skilled craftsmen were very skilled and did an excellent job with friendliness, patience, care and precision. Best of all, if there are any bumps in the road, they care! I thought I did a good job in picking Exquisite to do our pool. Boy was I wrong. I was told by the owner the average time to complete a fiberglass pool was 4 weeks. I'm at 9 weeks tomorrow, still not complete. I have been told 3 times that someone would be by to work on the pool. All 3 times they didn't show up on the day I was told. They just keep lying, no big deal to them. This been a ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wont recommend them to build a mud puddle. read more

I signed my contract for a fiberglass pool at the end of March. The staff was always very pleasant, but the job took forever. I went a week with the pool sitting in a hole in the ground waiting for someone to come and finish it. Another 12 days with the pool half filled and tadpoles swimming in it, for the electricians to wire it and get the filter running. It was the end of June before it was completed. I was told that they would clean and care for the pool for the 1st month. I wasn't supposed to have to do anything to it. Their pool person came out twice. If I didn't add chlorine tablets to the chlorinator it wouldn't have gotten done. However getting them back out to complete all the minor fixes ,like the leaking gutter, took until the end of August. Several times I was told someone would be out to do the repair and no one would show up or call and let me know they weren't coming. It was a very frustrating experience. I did however , end up with a beautiful pool that I love! If you use this company, just be prepared to wait....and wait! read more

I just wanted to give a shout out to Exquisite Pools in Deland! These folks broke ground the third week of May and we were swimming on July 20th, well ahead of schedule. We love the design (thanks Rich). The Exquisite employees are wonderful, very polite, talented and a joy to be around. The skilled tradesman were equally talented and the end result is a beautiful backyard pool that we will be enjoying for years. I have witnessed few business owners who were ever involved in a project to the extent that Casey was with ours and I can assure you that if there are any snags along the way, they will be promptly attended to. Great pool! Great company to work with. Our sales person, Rich Wood, was very easy to work with. He made the whole design process a breeze, especially since we had no idea what we were doing. They gave us a time frame for when the construction would be complete and they were right on target. In total it took 4 weeks for the permit to get in and about 8 weeks from start to finish. Their crew kept everything very neat and organized throughout the entire process, which we appreciated. Once everything was finished, they walked us through what they call a "pool school". They were very helpful with getting us everything we need to know to take care of the pool ourselves and were constantly reminding us to call for any questions. STRONLY RECOMMEND! read more

I was looking forward to having one of these beautiful pools..I called and left a message to Butch to confirm my appointment at 12:26 didn't get a call back. Later in the day I called the office to confirm appointment and was told Butch would call me back , an hour later he called finally and said he would be at my home in about 50 minutes. All this time I could have been attending to other errands .I had a lot to do today , but didn't want to be gone when he arrived. He arrived , I am clearly irritated because he was so lacks in his response and had caused me to loose several hours of errand running time and he asked what is wrong. I said I surely hope this is not an example of your customer service . He proceeded to tell me why he could not return my call, since he was with a customer that was signing a deal for 114,000 dollars and he wasn't going to interrupt that to call me back. He continued to argue with me about how he was with a customer, me with no reply and then he said , I'm not interested in this proposal... as he walked off. I said ,I'm not either. I would never want to work with a person that has no respect for the potential customer and stand in their face and argue . I sure hope he is the owner of this company , because if he isn't , he sure just lost a big sale..What ever happened to the saying ..the customer is always right? I guess being the only pool company in the area , they can pick and choose if they want jobs or not. read more

After 25 years in our home we decided to remodel our Break Away home to enjoy semi-retirement. Mike Navarra, our General Contractor suggested that we use Exquisite Pools. Our GC would not benefit from this recommendation but he wanted only the best for his remodel package. My husband I made the phone call and the ball was rolling. Our sales rep Rich arrived to survey the area; show us pictures and make recommendations. Everything flowed from there. Exquisite recommended a tree removal service that was both reasonable and respectful of our property. The crews that prepped the yard and dug the area for the pool were efficient and everything worked like clock work. The pavers, gunite, tile and rock surfacing materials; pumps jets, pool cleaner etc are top quality with terrific warranties. Most importantly we appreciated Colt and the staff that sets everything up to work properly and their willingness to educate us and see that things continue to run smoothly. Casey and his employees are honest, trustworthy people. They stand behind their work and take pride in respecting and pleasing the costumer at a fair price. I contacted Exquisite Pool & Spa at the urging of my son/daughter-in-law even though I was a day away from signing with another pool company. I am quite meticulous in my business dealings and always make comparisons, seek other information -- i.e., I do my homework. I had 6 contractors bid on my job -- didn't know what I wanted, so I asked for them to visit my property and give me suggestions as I wanted something different than everyone else. What "every" contractor sent me was their list of cookie-cutter pools out of their design books. Anyhow, I finally had decided on a local custom pool contractor but, as mentioned, agreed to have Exquisite (Casy Watson) take a look before I signed the contract. He came out that afternoon, and quickly drew up a design the he thought would not only be custom but would aesthetically benefit my home and yard. I (WE) WERE BLOWN AWAY with his design, we made a couple of minor changes and pressed on with him. We live in an extremely wet area by the St John's river and it was rainy season -- I was extremely impressed with their work and was really impressed with the finesse used by Casey in very carefully excavating my pool area. My pool is not the normal Grecian style pool or basic rectangle etc. It has bump outs and different elevations and with my water table I was sure it wouldn't happen. He hit water at 4 feet (depth is 6 feet), but no worries (from him), he said "no problem" and he was right. Not only did he do my pool, but he also did my landscaping. Absolutely impressive!!! If you wish to be ignored this is the place for you. They put my pool and patio roof in my back yard last year and i now have two huge leaks in the patio ceiling. It took half a day to get them to AGREE to fix the pore workmanship. And now they have stood me up twice after they said they would be out to fix it. This is not looking good folks. read more

During the sales process, everyone was very responsive and super nice! However, they have had to come out 3 times to fix the sinking pavers around the pool. They left my yard surrounding the pool so uneven that it's very difficult to mow. The pump hasn't been working properly for over 3 weeks now and they still haven't fixed it. They ignore phone calls and even told me to contact the manufacturer of the pump. I had to remind them that I have a written warranty from them. I have had to fight and beg these people to stand behind their warranty. Finally received a call yesterday with the promise they will be out by the end of the week to fix the pump. We will see. I feel so terrible that I recommended this place to friends of mine who have had their own issues with this company. All future correspondence with this company will be in writing. BEWARE, BEWARE AND BEWARE I recently had Exquisite pools install a large swimming pool with the full concrete decking all totaling 30,000 dollars. While the pool was being constructed my family and I were still living in New York and wanted it completed before we moved permanently to Palm coast Florida. WHAT A MISTAKE when you are not around Exquisite's "day employee's" converged on my property waiting for the reps from Exquisite to show up all the while annoying and getting into disputes with my neighbors who were so fed up they called the City of Palm Coast who promptly issues violations to Exquisite Pools. I believed Exquisite Pools was the better pool construction companies with a reasonable price. I was very happy with the presentation the salesman Butch provided and I signed the contract along with a check for the deposit. When we finally moved to Palm Coat 3 months later, the pool was still not completed and we noticed that all the spray cement on the back of our house which I had to point out to them and argue with them to have it removed. When that was finally done it came time for the finishing touches on the deck which included the painting of the concrete, this had to be done 2 times because the subcontracting painting company that Exquisite hired did a poor job and needed to be redone as it still needs to be redone. Exquisite pools sales representative Butch said that the pool was completed as far as they were concerned and then informed me that I would require to pay an additional 1,000 to have lawn sod planted around the perimeter so the building inspector can inspect the property. I disputed this with Butch who shows up at my house stinking of cigar spoke and an attitude problem. After me and him going back and forth I am told that this is the way it is take it or leave it. So I had to lay out an additional amount of money to have my property re-sodded. the Pool passed inspection a far as the engineering went however I received another violation from the city because Exquisite pools failed to comply with city ordnance where pool equipment must be concealed from public view which brought me to another phone call to Exquisite pool. At that time Butch the sales man showed up at my home to attempt to collect the remaining balance from us at which once again pointed out our dissatisfaction of their work and obvious flaws in the painting job which we were very unhappy with. Butch the salesman was indifferent to our complaints and pretty much told us that they did what they were suppose to do. Butch called us later on and offered to smooth over our dissatisfaction with a complete repaint of the decking which was stained and chipping. Butch then said that his coworker David will be in touch with us and take care of the remaining problem but they will need to get the final payment the minute they start the work, (just like a hostage situation). I agreed because after all I just wanted what I paid for and I wanted a well done job. This pool cost me a lot of money I expected top notch job. They were suppose to show up to complete the job on Thursday morning but David being very sneaky comes to my house on Wednesday night when I was not home and corners my wife to ask her about painting colors which were already decided and demanded the final payment check my wife sensed something was not right and called me immediately at which time David left the area. David and Butch from Exquisite never had the slightest intention of finishing up this job and tried to restore the reputation of Exquisite pools, in my opinion they are shady and dishonest and I am very surprised that they are allowed to be employed in the State of Florida. After this I have left numerous phone calls to have the owner, Casey contact me but for some reason that has not happened. I was very surprised to read some of the other reviews about Exquisite Pools on this site. I would have to say they were written by Exquisite themselves or there is another exquisite Pools in Deland Florida I don't know about. read more

We hired this company with confidence and excitement for our pool.......but right from the start we encountered poor workmanship and almost every construction phase had to be re-done. Pool came out smaller than designed and walls bulge in places. You scrape your knees in the low end when turning to do laps! Very poor customer service, kind of just "yes you" then fix the problem and then mess up again! Owner came numerous times and admitted to the many errors. Some employees walked off the job when questioned about the poor workmanship and uneven coping. Promises were never kept. They gave us sod as a perk for all of the aggravation....it died in two weeks due to improper installation. We had it re-done and I sent a letter to the owner requesting that he pay for the sod. We were so disgusted and upset when it died that we did say we would take care of it ourselves, BUT out of common courtesy he should have paid for it. Salesman dropped us when all the mistakes started! Pool concrete was laid to thick and uneven. They then had to come and jackhammer it out. What a mess!!! There were many other problems of which some were corrected others we have to live with. As indicated before most phases had to be re-done. They sandblasted without putting up tarps and everything was a giant mess.....once again additional work! We were promised decorative tiles which were forgotten about so the tile installer tried his best to replicate them...but they are uneven! Very sad, we trusted in the salesman, the foreman and the owner, oh! well..live and learn! We have learned to enjoy our pool but we still are constantly reminded of the many, many mistakes. We purchased a brand new home in Palm Coast this past fall and we wanted to get a pool installed. I did a lot of research and met with several pool companies. The other pool companies didn't really show us anything that was in our price range so I did more research on Angie's List and found that one customer raved about Exquisite Pool & Spa. We met with Butch Eaton just a few days after contacting Exquisite. He spent a lot of time with us, showing designs, pool finishes, chlorination systems, etc. What we really liked from the beginning was he showed us designs and options that were in our price range! We decided that evening that we were going to sign with Exquisite! Our project started within a few days of us signing the contract and it is beautiful! Butch was very involved with our project from day one; calling, emailing us and even stopped by to make sure everything was getting done to our satisfaction. (He even stopped by after our pool was completed to make sure we were still pleased with the finished project!) Everyone that we came in contact with were all very professional and pleasant. We started this project early December and it was completed before the end of February! (that even includes getting the final inspection) Even the county inspector told us, and I quote: "Your pool company did a very nice job! Very nice design!" We love our pool and screened in lanai and can't wait for the weather to warm us so that we can use our beautiful pool! We highly recommend Exquisite Pool and Spa. If you are considering getting a pool, you really need and should contact Butch first! I wish I could load a photo of our completed project so that everyone could see how beautiful it is!
