I was one of many victims of theft at this facility. I lost almost 6000.00 in items. They have had…read morea large string of thefts. Look it up in the Galesburg local news. Only one camera was working and Galesburg Police Department informed UHaul Corporate this about 7 months before I rented there and had my locks cut off by criminals. I had sentimental things stolen that I put there temporarily for an out of state move. I WAS ASSURED IT WAS KEY CARDED, SAFE, AND CAMERA MONITORED. They were not properly monitoring the units or checking locks daily. They were not informing people of break ins, locks being cut off, homeless people or unit alarm wires being cut. They were not informing people about storage unit insurance availability. They fired a manager. After over a year of going back and forth, I was offered a very very small compensation and when I tried to negotiate it, they withdrew that offer completely! So I've decided to tell my story on all platforms. Be aware, ask the police about it's current status, do not store anything of value and absolutely make sure to have the unit insured by UHaul. Some homeowner's insurance will not cover items that are not in your home. I learned a very expensive lesson. I lost items I had kept for 50 years, not replacable. UHaul really let me down. Beware!
