I had looked at several other storage facilities in the area when I was selling my house and moving into an apartment and needed to store some of my stuff. 10x Self Storage beat all of the rest that I looked at. The manager that I first met with was excellent and and explained the whole process to me who hadn't rented a unit previously. The facility is easily accessible and conveniently situated with lots of parking. It is climate controlled and the inside access is great as opposed to other facilities which only had access from the outdoors and were not climate controlled. The building is kept very clean which I appreciated.

Previously, I was at a competitor. I had a small 5x10 unit, outdoor access, not climate controlled, and part-time attendant. I went there because it was close, and they had a "first month free" offer. I never actually got that free month, and they raised my rates twice in a six month period by a large amount. At first, it was $85/month, then two months in it was raised to $133/mo; then I got a notice in November that it would be raised to $180/mo right before Christmas. I decided it was time to move out and find some place better. I got a unit at 10x Self Storage on Pullman Street. The unit was 10x10 (actually a little bigger), indoor, and climate controlled. At $175/mo, it was a tad cheaper than my previous unit with way more benefits. They offered 50% off for the first three months, and actually stuck by the offer (unlike the previous place that never gave me the promised free month). I used the 10x10 for a year, then downsized to a smaller 5x5 unit at $59/mo before moving out (I no longer needed extra storage). I really appreciate a company that doesn't bait-and-switch, and that doesn't get you into a unit only to jack your rates up. I found 10x to be an honest business, top quality, and a pleasure to do business with. I recommend them, and would also use their facilities again.

Chester is a the work horse! Chester has helped me with lock issues. He explained the different storge option to a family member I recommended and walked to each available one with us! I've been a customer at the Auburn Cube smart since last fall of 2025…read more In the time I have been a customer, paying a premium, the lights have been broken, there have been incidents of ice so bad you couldn't walk around the facility, unplowed driveways, and then, the end of March, the elevator lift to the second floor in my building broke down. Weeks went by and I was scheduled to move out in May, and the lift, broken at this point about a month, was still inoperable. They shared that it was being fixed in a week or so... I go out 1-2 times, driving from Boston, and it was still not working. When it came time to move out, it was still not working, and they extended the next month, comp, since I could not remove my items. I called/emailed every few weeks so find out about the lift, so I didn't have to drive 1,5 hours roundtrip to figure it out, and still, no repair. They continue to comp my unit as the months go by, since my property is being held hostage by their broken lift. I have heavy items that I cannot move down stairs on my own. I need to rent a truck to move said items, I need time and communication to coordinate my move. A week before the August "renewal" (again, that they have been comping because the lift WAS STILL BROKEN after 4 MONTHS) I received a missed call. I specifically asked for an email to notify me when the lift was fixed, I get lots of spam calls and do not know what is what... well on 7/28 they charged me for August rental. I reached out and said they need to comp it, since I received no notification the lift was fixed and I still haven't been able to retrieve my items. I received an email at that time stating that the lift was now fixed, so I had to move out by that weekend to get a refund. I have heavy items, it's the summer months with other plans, and cannot stop everything to drive out, rent a truck, and remove my items. I work in an office. My father is getting chemo treatments in Maine every other week that I have to take him to. To receive 3 days notice that they finally fixed their lift and unless I remove my items by the weekend they will charge me full price?? What type of shady business practice is that? I do NOT recommend this storage facility. There are so many others to chose from, in fact, there's one right across the road that looks like a better bet, I would be willing to be you can access their bathrooms and the lights work
