Came here on a Friday evening and was lucky enough to be seated outside! The inside would've been…read moretoo warm and stuffy (though they did have a fan running in there to help circulate the air). Was served almost immediately, so A+ for service, which remained pretty attentive throughout the evening. Interior is typical of your Swiss "American roadhouse" style diners, with lots of pictures of famous people on the wall. Nice ambience, though. I was pretty bummed that I couldn't have the burger with a bacon and a sunny-side-up egg (don't remember the name of the burger), as it was available only from Mondays-Wednesdays. Ah, well, next time! Anyway, I did order the Venice Beach (coleslaw, onions, bacon) - and I have to admit, I've never, ever thought of putting coleslaw into my burger, but it works well! Their coleslaw is also pretty good, which is worth a mention because most places can't make it right. The burger itself was not bad, though I found the bun to be a little much and took away from the taste of the burger itself. Had onion rings (really good) and garlic dip (good too), but what's really worth a mention are the sweet potato fries - which were absolutely fantabulous. They were a little thicker than I was used to, but were somehow perfectly crispy and tasted so good! To top off the evening, I tried some of the American cheesecake, which at CHF 8,50 is pretty steep, but oh my god, I have never had better cheesecake in this country! It's a little lighter than your actual American cheesecake, but this isn't a bad thing. The texture, consistency, and taste were still there. The graham cracker crust was a little more mushy and grainy than what I'm used to, but now I'm just nitpicking. All in all, would definitely recommend.

Conveniently located near the train station, so perfect for a commute time snack. Or, if you're…read morealready in the area and just looking for an inexpensive meal then this fits the fill too. The hot dog pretzel is definitely they way to go for a quick lunch, though the regular pretzels are good snacks too. Rauchwürstchen: This is the ultimate sandwich on the go. A long pretzel roll with one end cutoff then penetrated on a large metal rod then squirted with mustard inside and then a hot dog is placed in. Pretzels are delicious by themselves, but taste even better with a hot dog. And the vertical design makes this a lot less messy to eat than a regular hot dog or sausage on a roll. Raclette Brezel: Both raclette and pretzels are local favorites, so why not have them both at the same time? There were four sections with caked on raclette and those bites were delicious! Kinda makes you wonder whether raclette restaurants should start swapping out bread for pretzels. The thin pieces of pretzel without cheese were a little boring though, since it's not like they had any salt or other toppings.

Brezelkönig has a great standard. And that since many years. I know the locations in Luzern and…read moreEmmen, constantly good quality. But this was my first visit to the branch in Zürich-Stadelhofen. The small line moved quickly, the staff is fast and efficient. They know what they do. I chose a Chorizo Brezel (8.30 CHF) this time. And good news: It's as good as at the other locations! I'm glad they keep the standard and quality anywhere. At least at the locations I've tried yet. The Brezel with Cheese was very nice. Perfect balance between crispy and soft. Then a nice load of Chorizo. And lots of nice butter. And that's it. That's all it needs. A wonderful quick lunch. Price might seem a bit high. But for me that was lunch and for that the price was fine. They moment you take a bit you'll forget about the price and you'll just enjoy this very very good Brezel. At the other locations I also went for regular Salami, Cheese or ham. If you just want a small snack: Get a "Silserli", a smaller bread but with the same topping available.
