Upon their review , they claimed the subfloor installed by others was inproperly installed. We contend it was Colortile responsibility to insure the subfloor installed would would allow a proper installation of vinyl flooring before they installed the product. There was no mention of the problem with the subfloor by Colortile during installation. Colortile refused to do anything to resolve the improperly installed vinyl floor and blaimed the subfloor installer. They do not stand behind theif work and if you plan work with them , beware! Our floor was left with a big duct tape patch . The Owner of Color tile offered to have the installer to return with Super Glue to complete the patch but We said NO WAY! They also installed carpet and covered up floor electrical which was against code. They did fix this one.

Disturbed by neg comments: Employer stated "This job is beneath me!" Not detail oriented and cuts corners. Contractor in regards to unlevel floor patch with 1/2 gaps on three sides:" I'm putting my foot down! I refuse to sand & level it! It will be covered by carpet (trim or shingles) so doesn't matter! If we wanted it to be level, we should have used a different material!" Eventually calked and sanded to appease. Afraid roof done same way (with large gaps). Two dust barriers in place only four of the eleven days needed. As a result, a thick layer of dust covered everything in the house! Husband removed carpet staples as employee failed to do so. Also removed wood burning stove from the basement and gave away; cleaned up after employees daily. Contractor refused to compensate. In regard to removing the wood burning stove ourselves, contractor stated:" That's money out of my own pocket! I was going to recycle it!" Bid excluded basic items such as handrail brackets, doorknobs, electrical hardware, light fixtures, the painting of four door jams plus two skirtboards, inside closet finishes, wall corner trim, etc. In addition, we had to purchase own carpet as contractor did not include this in his either. Ultimately, we ended up paying an increased contractor fee.

He says he will be there on a certain time of a certain day then will either show up for only a couple hours or he will just not show up at all. Then when he doesn't show up, he won't respond to text messages or phone calls for days and even a week+ sometimes. He has promised to be done so many times and disappointed us every time. His work is not high quality. He has grouted our shower twice now and it is still missing grout in many spots. He has left our house a mess with his tools and garbage on a daily basis. He is full of excuses instead of taking accountability and being a "classy" businessman. We have literally begged him to come get the job finished, to no avail. We have now filed a complaint with the State of Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses against his contractors license and are having to pay someone else to come in and finish the job that he has already been paid in full for. I saw another review with similar experiences about being put on the back burner and ignored so I encourage anyone considering A Touch of Class to reconsider. Don't get stuck in his rouse.
