I am so grateful to Mike for helping us with setting up some sun shades in our backyard. We already had the sun shades and we already had steel posts to attach them to, but we didn't know if we had the right hardware or how to make the sun shades we'd purchased work in our back yard. I purchaed a new 65" tv, tv wall mount, speaker wire and hired a tech (not Mike) to install it. He installed the tv, rewired the speakers and adjusted the cd player to the receiver. Sound did come from the tv, but no tv or cd player sound came thru the speakers. After adjusting the controls on the receiver n cd player controls, he said you need a new receiver with newer features for it to work, your receiver is over 10 yrs old , nothig more I can do..ok good, I agree. I talked with a sales person who suggested a specific model, which I purchased. I called Mike and he arrived on time and ready to remount the tv wall mount for better viewing and install the new receiver. He unpacked the receiver and noted it was a basic receiver with minimum features and hoped it would work. Because the other tech cut the speaker wire to short, he cut new wire to keep a person from tripping over it, connected it to the receiver and turned it on. I was sold the wrong receiver, it did not have the features I needed, did not work and I could not add surround sound, ect. Mike suggested before you return this and buy another, your old receiver has more features than the new, let's try something..he reconnected the receiver, adjusted controls on the tv, receiver and cd player..it worked, I could hear my tv and cd player thru the speakers...nothing wrong with your old receiver, wired wrong and the tech did not readjust the controls properly on the receiver.. I returned the new receiver, saved over $250 and recommend Mike as your Handyman of choice... read more

I hired Mike for a very long list of things that needed to be fixed such as a leaky outside faucet, an out of place drain pipe, he reattached a wire to the roof, and put a large amount of soil into bins. He also put together an outdoor bench, a 10x10ft umbrella, and installed poles around our garden which he hung lights from. Mike came for an estimate first and then returned to actually do the work a few days later. The price of the work was on target with his estimate. My favorite thing about Mike is how he is very communicative. He let me know 15 minutes before he arrived and he kept us updated through the steps of what he was doing.
