This place is horrible.. i have been invited here twice with two groups of friends, i reluctantly…read morewent the second time hoping that the terrible experience on my first visit was an isolated incident by one incompetent staff member but it seems that this is not the case after visiting a second time this weekend. They have this system whereby the staff can remotely control the speed of your go-kart, they say this is to prevent dangerous driving. In theory, one could maybe see the benefits of this, but hey, we are here to race, and how fair is it really if some are racing at one speed and others at another. The problems extends further that the staff keep pushing the wrong buttons and making the wrong karts slow down. The first time i went, on numerous occasions, either people who were driven into were slowed down rather than the person making contact, or in some cases, people casually driving along suddenly had their karts slowed down as the staff repeatedly pushed the wrong button. This eventually became so unbearable that many people gave up and opted not to continue... Quite unfortunate given that we pay $65 each and they would not refund our money due to the ill trained staff member ruining our fun. This weekend, we had a similar experience and once again, some of us just gave up and never even finished racing as it just ruined our whole experience. My thoughts are if you want these fancy remote controls to slow karts down, make sure the staff are trained properly on how to use them, or rather just can the whole idea as it really does ruin the fun of it.

It's out in the…read moreAirport Oaks area so not the most convenient for most of us, but then let's be honest, kart tracks necessarily occupy out-of-the-way industrial premises. The reason you'll come all the way out to this particular venue is the shiny new track and electric karts which the owners claim are the fastest in New Zealand. They are undoubtedly impressive and definitely a tad quicker than what you're used to at other places. You pay for the privilege though, with the per-minute rate comparing unfavourably to other tracks like Highbrook. Also I found the track a bit slippery when I first visited (probably because it was new). Still, it's a great deal of fun, but your primal side does miss the smell of petrol at other venues a bit!!

I was like...they've just gone and completely ruined it". Read that what had been done so far was only part 1, ( high hopes that part 2 was the animals, the Hippo in particular, getting put back in their rightful and honorable places...) NUP! Part 2 is going to be a food cart. So to the owners..Was it too hard to just replace the astro turf?; fix and repaint the animals,the mushrooms, and the buildings?; plant new plants?; put up a roof? Yeah the place was showing it's age, but revitalizing something, doesnt always mean that what your revitalizing has to be completely replaced. I haven't played it, I don't want to play it, and neither has my partner, because we both think that what you have replaced the old courses with, is nothing but rubbish. You've gone ruined what were 2 already awesome courses, and the animals just added to it. ( no other course in New Zealand, had a Gorilla standing over a cave on the 18th hole ). #Disappointed R.I.P Hippo, Gorilla, Giraffe, Zebra, T.Rex, and Brontosaurus. GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!

Lots of kids and families over school holidays but don't let that deter you. There is the original course with zoo animals and cool putt puts. The newer course is dinosaur inspired. The course is a little shorter without much foliage but it does have really good giant dinosaurs. Today it cost $45 for a family of four for 18 holes.

They are usually at…read moreall the sportsgrounds, motorsport, etc and are a welcome sight when I am in Puke watching sport and need a coffee hit. He does nice coffees and hot chocolates and they also do the shots of flavoured syrup. My only gripe is the price. The guy charges more than most central Auckland cafes and his overheads must be minimal. Still, I suppose he has a captive audience and when you want a coffee you will pay top dollar to get your caffeine fix.
