Throughout the decades, this track has seen…read moreaction in all sorts of racing categories from Formula Ford to Formula 5000 to V8 Supercars. Nowadays the old girl is undoubtedly dated. The bleachers are barely fit to sit on, the pit building consists of a bit of scaffolding, and the "fences" don't do a great job of protecting the crowd. But man, the place has character in spades and there's history in every blemish on the track surface. The viewing around the track is outstanding - you can see everything from the grandstand, and a good three quarters from 'Ford Mountain'. The disregard for health and safety means you can get close to everything. Heck for the Bruce McLaren festival a couple years back I got into pit lane in jandals and started talking with car owners. In short, it's hopeless inadequacy makes it the brilliant venue that it is!

After this thrilling day i was get super excited to hop in my warm bubbale bath as it relaxes me after i swung left right sideway upside down and couragously. i also loved the view and sound on the fearfall, the screaming music to my ears.

Jacquie answered all our questions, assisted us in drawing a stage after the one we had originally requested was too big for the room. She managed to set up the hall using diagrams and worked closely with the lightning and stage crew to make sure that everything was working from the sound system to the lights. Jacquie went out of her way to ensure that everything we asked was there and because it was christmas, we even had fairy lights around the room and a christmas tree at the front.

To end the conference we had dinner and enjoyed a race night. It was my first time going to Alexandra park and will definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Boxing Day's Fashion in the Field is one of the most popular. Some meetings are free, otherwise expect to pay $10-$20 entry depending of the day. There are also hospitality options available which get you into private stands or marquees. An enjoyable day out can be had with or without the hospitality option. I like to watch the horses in the parade area before they jockey up and head out to the track, try to keep my bets at an affordable limit and bury my sorrows in bubbly if I don't have any luck!

It was still a wonderful day though, with great gallops and some very nice food and drink options (I think we were in the Goldstar bar, but don't quote me!). Ellerslie is a lovely track with good stands and a readily accessible walking ring, which is my favourite place to check out horses' form, leaving plenty of time to get a bet on, without the panic of viewing a horse in the birdcage and then racing to the TAB. The ticket prices were very reasonable for Derby Day, and the racebooks and other extras were low cost too. I'll definitely be back again, hopefully on a sunnier day!

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and although the place is a bit rough around the edges, it's still a good venue for this kind of affair. Loads of room, good seating arrangements that aren't too far from the court despite being in what my Dad calls 'the nosebleed section', an unusual but workable system for the café, and generally good vibes, it's got a lot going for it!

As a second time visitor and this time taking it in my stride to venture over on my own with the kiddies; I was happily entertained by the kids aged two to eleven( a fantastic note to self that there is something for all ages here). The under four's even have there own zone to enjoy. My first visit here probably was a year ago, and I was attending with children for a five year olds birthday. There are special tables you can hire out for a birthday party, this particular party was catered for by the family in charge, and the kids had a ball! After an hour or so of jumping on inflated castles and running through courses with slides and tunnels the kids gathered for a sit down lunch before running back to enjoy Inflatable world once they had got a bit of food. Not only is this place fantastic for parties but during the first week of school holidays i had three under twelve year olds, and this was my turn to for a bit of fun! The weather may not be so hot outdoors, but at Inflatable its fun and feels sunny! Even in winter you can keep the chills away by sitting under heaters on the chairs provided. A lifesaver for parents and caregivers the kids love it, and you end the visit with very tired ad thrilled kids, who always want to return. The car park is onsite, however gotta be lucky when its busy as they do fill up quick.

The field is usually quite large and comprises of some very quick elite athletes but as the events cater for everyone there is no reason to feel nervous. Race day entry is possible if you decide to race last minute but comes at a premium. Online entry is the most cost effective and if you enter more than one event you can get a great package deal. No set opening hours so check the website for event times

So there were a whole lot of people just walking down and sitting in the lower seats they didn't pay for. That got a little annoying. Otherwise, the venue is fine.
