This place is an 'Authorized ECHO' dealership. This place sells ECHO power tools, parts, etc. This place services ECHO power tools, though apparently not very well. This place services ECHO power tools while they are under the NATION-WIDE 5-Year warranty - BUT ONLY IF YOU BUY IT FROM THEM!? Note: I bought my chainsaw from another 'Authorized ECHO' dealership 190 miles away. I took my chainsaw to Extreme Power Equipment for an issue under warranty. One week later it was done. I picked it up and about 1/2 cord into cutting it had the same issue (i.e., NOT FIXED) I took it back in, I was immediately told that because I did not buy it there - they could not service it under warranty because they don't get enough payment back from ECHO. Note: not sure if this a 'special' ECHO issue, or the fact that nobody get's paid what they think they should on warranty work. (i.e., talk to any/every car dealership since warranties were invented). I tried to use the analogy/example of "If you bought a Ford in Kalamazoo and it broke down under warranty in Detroit - would you accept the Ford dealership there telling you - sorry, can't work on it - you have to take it back across the state to where you bought it?" OF COURSE NOT, THAT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS/UNACCEPTABLE!! But THAT'S EXACTLY what Extreme Power Equipment's policy is. I told them I was not in a rush, if they had other 'actual customer' work to complete 1st - that's OK and perfectly acceptable by me. That was like talking to a dead stump. I had unpleasant words with the Owner, and as I was walking out - he threw me out of the shop. I immediately went to another local 'Authorized ECHO' dealership and they accepted it with no questions asked; NO "Did you buy it from us?". I also contacted ECHO and reported Extreme Power Equipment. They were troubled by my experience with one of their 'Authorized ECHO' dealerships, quoting "It does not matter where you buy it, ANY 'Authorized ECHO' dealership is required to accept and complete warranty repairs. They wrote up an incident report and number on them and my chainsaw, and told me ECHO and this other 'Authorized ECHO' dealership across town would take care of it. Hope so - I still have 2.5 years left on my 5 year warranty. Conclusion: Avoid Extreme Power Equipment - even if you do buy from them; they couldn't fix the simple issue the 1st time (assuming they even tried), before they decided to not do further warranty work after that. It will be interesting to see if this outstanding customer service model works well for them going forward - as whatever short-fall they were complaining about re: warranty work will pale in comparison to the lost business my word of mouth may cause. Pretty simple concept this owner somehow fails to understand - a happy customer is a free walking advertisement for years. read more

By far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I purchased a new Toro Commercial Walk Behind mower for over $4k from them. The mower shows up, Tim runs through it with me, and he takes off to leave me with my new mower. I run through the manual to make sure I'm doing everything right, fire it up, get to mowing, and in the first 40 yards, smoke is pouring out from the deck (keep in mind here, that with these big Toro Commercial mowers, Extreme Power Equipment assembles them and will deliver them "ready to mow". I paid over $250 for the assembly and delivery). I shut it down immediately and call Tim. He sends somebody out to my house to pick it up around 2:30PM (roughly 45 minutes after delivery). The issue seems to be the main drive belt has been routed incorrectly or tensioned improperly and has burned up and shredded. The guy who picks it up is super apologetic and I understand mistakes happen no matter how disappointing. He loads the mower up and takes it away. Around 4:30PM I haven't heard anything from them, so I give them a call for an update as I need to mow my yard and I expect this to be a simple and very quick fix since I just dropped $4k on this, brand new, and it took a crap in the first 30 seconds. I am told the mower just got back to the shop because they had additional pickups to do and that Tim is gone for the day and they won't get to it until tomorrow. Great, Tim is taking off without calling me or having someone call me to give me a status update on the brand new mower I just bought that broke down after 30 seconds of use, and instead of the mower being brought directly to the shop for diagnoses on the issue, it's been pulled all over town on a trailer for the past 2 hours. The next morning I call around 9AM (an hour after they open) to get an update, feeling a little frustrated that I'm not somewhat of a priority after spending so much money with them. I'm told by a lady on the phone that she isn't sure of the status and that they will let me know when they have an update. I wait until around 12PM and call them again for an update, feeling frustrated that I haven't heard from them. I am told that it was indeed a belt issue, they have one, they are going to fix it, and they will deliver it either today or tomorrow. I tell them that I would really appreciate it if I was able to have it back today to mow my lawn. I ask them also, please, if whoever delivers it could stick around for 15 minutes while I fire it up and make sure we don't have any further issues. They respond by telling me that's no problem and they'll let me know if they are able to deliver it today or tomorrow because they aren't sure yet. Around 3PM I get a call from a lady at Extreme that tells me they are just minutes from my house to deliver the mower. I ask her why they didn't let me know that they were going to be delivering it today and tell her that I am 40 minutes away at work and to have the guy wait there for me, to which she responds, "Oh... uh... ok." I tell her that we are really having some communication issues. She tells me she will call the guy delivering it and see how close he actually is. 20 minutes later I receive a call from Tim. He tells me that they attempted to deliver it, but nobody was home (no kidding, Tim - when did I say I was at home and why didn't you let me know that was the plan? Also, thanks for having your guy stick around as I requested to make sure there were no further issues) so instead "We left it on the driveway." I ask Tim if he thinks that was a good idea and he tells me, "I think you live in a very nice neighborhood". I then proceed to tell him what I really think of his business and my experience with them all while he suggests I was calling to check on the status of the mower too often and feels that "nothing I say or do will make you happy". I tell him that it's not about making me happy, it's about good business and bad business, and that he's running a bad business. Well, that's the last business you'll get from me.
