I brought my vehicle in to have the driver's side door window installed. I had already supplied the…read morereplacement window. During the repair, I was told that the window regulator was broken. I do not believe that conclusion was adequately supported. The original window had been shattered, but the regulator itself appeared intact. There are also repair instructions available for this model showing that proper access to the regulator requires removal of the exterior door panel. My concern is that the repair was being attempted without removing that panel. I personally observed the work being carried out this way. I tried to explain the procedure I understood to be required, but my information was dismissed rather than considered. With an uncommon vehicle such as this, it is entirely possible for an owner who has researched the repair to have useful information about the procedure. I would have appreciated a more collaborative approach, particularly before concluding that an additional component was defective. The interaction with the technician also became unnecessarily dismissive. I was left with the impression that the focus had shifted from determining how the repair could be completed properly to defending the original assessment. Ultimately, I had to drive home in the rain with the driver's window completely missing and the replacement glass sitting loose in the passenger area. I was particularly concerned about the safety of transporting a large piece of glass in that manner, especially in the event of a collision. My concern is not simply that the repair was unsuccessful. Repairs do not always go as planned. My concern is that I observed an attempt to complete the repair without removing the panel necessary to properly access the regulator, while the information I provided about the procedure was dismissed. I believe the situation could have been handled much more professionally by reconsidering the repair procedure, verifying whether the regulator was actually defective, and ensuring the vehicle was left in a safe condition before I departed.

This second time was during the Covid pandemic, with reduced hours I was told my vehicle wouldn't be ready before Monday after having it towed to them 11am Friday. Instead it was diagnosed, repaired and available for pick up by 1:30pm the same day. Every repair or part replacement that they have done for me has been explained in a way I understand even with limited vehicle knowledge, which has made me feel confident that I am not being overcharged or replacing unnecessary parts.

The total price for all the stuff they said I needed to fix was over $2, 000. (That's almost half of what I paid for that vehicle). After a long chat about the prices for each thing, I said "I'm pretty sure that I can get some of these things done cheaper, so I'll start calling other shops". (As I probably should have done in the first place; hindsight's 20/20). They said "ok. Call us when you come to a decision". And they hung up. That call was on Friday; they're not open through the weekend. (Which I for once had the full weekend off and didn't realize that they don't even have the office open through those days).
