This is an annual event that currently is located at the Ohio Historical Society's "Ohio Village"…read morein Columbus, near the fair grounds. I thought this would be a cute little festival... inwas wrong. This it is huge! Over thirty coffee roasters and a bunch of food trucks and then dozens of vendors selling baked goods, pottery, and baked goods. This is a ticketed event. They have time slots for each day that you can get tickets for that range from 20 to 75 dollars. All the AM slots were sold out by the time we heard about the event so we purchased the two day pass with entry at 3pm-6pm. There was a huge line to get to the parking lot but once you got to the lot it was pretty easy to get in. Ohio Village is an town the historical society constructed to show what town looked like when Ohio was still considered a frontier state. Many of the coffee roasters were allowed to set up their temporary coffee shops inside these cute historical buildings. When you walk thru the entrance you are greeted and given a mug. Just after that stand is their merchandise stand where you can buy a hat, pin, tote bag, tshirt or sweat shirt. I recommend bringing a tote bag so You aren't forced into getting a ten dollar tote bag-- because, lets just face it, there will be something you will want to buy. When you go to the various roasters locations, you aren't getting a full cup of coffee. Its a fifth or sixth of the cup. So don't worry about being too caffeinated. Plus- If you only like coffee with cream, there are a few cream stations as many of the roasters don't have cream at their station (some do, some even have oat milk!!) Our favorite roasters this year were were Curly Dog Roasters, Cafe Graciela, Royal Flamingo Coffee, and Hemisphere. What is great about this events is you get exposed to some up and coming roasters who are still so small they don't have store fronts... yet. (Which is the case of 3 of the 4 roasters above). We also ended up buying a 10 dollar tote bag, a coffee festival tshirt, a one line tshirt and a curly dog coffee tshirt. Also ended up with two bags of honey infused tea (from a vendor from VA) and the BEST vegan donuts I have ever had. Actually, they were so good, we are buying more tomorrow. I loved this festival. Will go again next year, but will make sure I get my tickets the day they go on sale, so we can go at 9am vs 3pm. I imagine we wont fall asleep until 3pm tonight. IMO, 3pm is too late to drink a LOT of coffee. Lol. I highly recommend this event. Its well planned.

Each seat has a narrow table in front for food and drinks, which was a nice touch. The surround sound system was solid. Parking is mostly located behind the building and can be pricey when enforcement is in effect. Unfortunately, the theater can't assist with parking since it's not their lot. The bartender was fantastic--very friendly, explained where the theater was, how ordering works, and answered all of our questions since it was our first time there. We ordered pizza, which came out quickly and was delicious. We tried the Elephant and the Hot Swarm--both excellent. They offer 40 beers on tap, along with cider, wine, and hard liquor. Not the best in technology but it gets the job done. Zero complaints from me. We walked in and there is a bar area to the right. They have everything you could want for the movies. Beer, popcorn, candy and even pizza. I bought a tall beer and popcorn and did not have to mortgage the house. It was $17. Water was free. Thank you! We walked into the theater and they have tables setup so you can sit at and put your drinks and snacks on the table instead of having to hold them on your lap. What a great great idea! The couple a few spaces from us had a large pizza in front of them. The chairs were extremely comfortable and it was the perfect getaway date night. We will definitely be coming back here to see more movies. Great and friendly staff. The two women did a fantastic job helping us.

Too Many Cooks is one of my favorite regular events in Columbus!…read more TMC is held at Wild Goose Creative on the second Sunday of each month, and it features talks and cooking demos from chefs, restaurateurs, bloggers, business owners, etc. No matter who's there, it's always a huge win -- either somebody brand new before they hit it big, or someone who's already the best in the business. The atmosphere is perfect for me. It's decidedly low-key, and the best people are always there. So whether you take a friend or go solo -- you are going to feel welcome, and you will have a great time. The cost is $7 in advance or $10 at the door, and this helps cover the cost of supplies for the presenter. You reap the benefits of that though -- getting to snack on tasty noms while you learn. Parking can be tricky, but just go down a street until you find a spot. I adore this monthly event and always have the best time.

All beverages required a ticket, individual trucks could not sell drinks, and the lines were long at the beverage tents. Not a fan of this design. My pro-tip is to bring cash. You can save money as the vendors we went to factored card charges and there were two sets of prices upon payment (cash vs card). Also, several beverage ticket areas - i recommend the one by Junto. We went on a Sunday and honestly it was pretty boring, just walking around in a circle looking at the trucks and vendors. We tried some food from a Brazilian truck and that was probably the best food we had all day. Everything is super pricey now and most of the food was okay at best. I spent close to $30 on a plate and beef patty from ire jam grill and it was probably my least favorite thing I ate. Idk man Caribbean/Jamaican food in Columbus is not it. Also any time I go to a festival the first thing I look for is funnel cakes. No offense to the ladies with the glaze em gourmet funnel cakes truck there, but sometimes the classics are the way to go, just a normal funnel cake with some powdered sugar, without all of the frills. I wound up ordering one from them anyways for my son at close to $16, all of the toppings, glaze and extras just made it soggy. The icy paw and empanadas and more food trucks were probably the best ones I tried. I'm kind of torn about going next year, spent way too much on food I didn't like.
