This was our first time here and definitely did not disappoint. I am deaf so we called ahead to make sure this small theater could accommodate me. They have closer caption on a stick. Not the best in technology but it gets the job done. Zero complaints from me. We walked in and there is a bar area to the right. They have everything you could want for the movies. Beer, popcorn, candy and even pizza. I bought a tall beer and popcorn and did not have to mortgage the house. It was $17. Water was free. Thank you! We walked into the theater and they have tables setup so you can sit at and put your drinks and snacks on the table instead of having to hold them on your lap. What a great great idea! The couple a few spaces from us had a large pizza in front of them. The chairs were extremely comfortable and it was the perfect getaway date night. We came to Grandview theater to watch the Hunger Games prequel. We came early to order food, which came out quick and our sandwiches were delicious. I ordered the "Miracle Mike". We also ordered a couple drinks, I ordered the cranberry mule form their seasonal cocktail list and it was wonderful!! The theater itself is super comfortable and I love that they have tables in each row too enjoy any food you may have ordered. The staff was also super kind! I'm a BIG movie buff and I loved my first visit to the Grandview theater. The bar was great, lots of fun movie themed decor. We got there early and ordered two of their pizzas (Flock Yeah! and The Elephant) and both were excellent! Tasty and just the perfect amount of crisp to the crunch. Also ordered a speciality cocktail (Dial of Destiny) and loved it. Went and saw Asteroid City and felt like a missed opportunity to not have any Asteroid City/Wes Anderson themed cocktails. I was super excited to visit this theater once I heard about it! I've driven past it so many times but hasn't thought to check it out until recently! I am SO GLAD I did!! It's such a cute theater and we had a great experience. Tickets were $10 which is pretty reasonable, and on par with other theaters. I'd rather support local, so we went to see the new Spider-Man movie here! Beers were on the pricier side, with most between $8-$11. They did have some cheaper options too! Their concessions snacks were reasonably priced and they also have pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and wings delivered from Grandad's down the street. We ordered a pizza and it came in ~30 minutes, so definitely get there early if you want more food than popcorn or nachos! Overall, the experience was great and the staff were friendly. Grandview Theater & Drafthouse is locally owned! They are planning on expanding to having 2 theaters in the near future. The theater that they do have was recently renovated. They put in tables in front of some of the seating, which is extremely convenient for your theater snacks and beer. Speaking of beer, Grandview Theater & Drafthouse has an incredible beer selection! It is impressive. They will definitely have something on tap that you like. They not only have normal showing times of their movies, but they also have special events / showings. The events are MC'ed by the owner who is absolutely phenomenal in front of the crowd! He is almost better than the movie. He cracks me up and the crowd will be very interactive and boisterous! The first half of the event will also have beer tastings. They are generous with their tastings and I promise you will have fun. Crazy raffle prizes are given out throughout the event. Watch out, if you win, you are almost guaranteed to take home The Princess Bride scrabble game! You have been warned. Next month I am heading to one of these events, it is for the The Christmas Vacation movie. I know it will be a blast. Grandview Theater is one of the best. It has an advantage over many others. There's not many theaters that have beer on tap. It's not like it's all overpriced either. They have some respectable brands too. It was remodeled a few years back. It's so much better. This now rivals Studio 35 as far as independent theaters. It has much of the same concept. They have first run movies in an old historic theater. It's another good option if you don't feel like going all the way to Clintonville. The movie watching experience is the most important part. It has many seats that have trays attached. The seats are much more comfortable here. It's better than any chain theater crap. Better staff. Many good beers on tap. read more

I'm pretty regular here and let me tell you; this staff treats you amazingly, the beer is well-priced, and they have some of the most fun events that I have ever been to in the Columbus area. Local movie houses make the world go round. This recently renovated, single screen venue is a great place to see a film or go to a special event. The front room is a full service bar with a garage door that opens in nice weather. The theatre is half seats with tables and half sloped theatre seats. Ample view from any seat in the house. Sign up for emails, as you will get a list of what is showing and special events. I just went to a microbrew beer tasting coupled with a classic film and raffles. Awesome. Had a great time at Grandview Theater to see Spider-Man! They got pretty busy for this one and the two bartenders did a great job tending to everyone and getting drinks out quickly. Their pizza is from Grandads down the street so if you're planning to order, make sure you give yourself a little extra time to make up for delivery time. If you're there for a movie and not just to drink, keep an eye out for when they re open the doors after the previous showing as that means the theater is done being cleaned. So cool! This has become one of my favorite places to go in Grandview. Whether there is a movie that you want to see, or you just want to have a beer in a cute, local setting - this is the place to go! We were in on a Friday night. Plenty of tables Available. Families eating and drinking. We were waiting for our 14 yo to finish making candles with 5 of her friends at the amazing candle place next door. So my husband and I came here because we love the atmosphere, it's next door and we always spoke highly about it to everyone when the theater opened its doors. We came even on opening day with our 7 and 5 year old. So we loved how family friendly this please was. The 6 kids walked in about an hour after we arrived. We purchased popcorn right when they did and they sat down. The owner asked them to wear masks. Which they were already doing respectfully. Meanwhile, never asked another customer to put a mask on. The kids went to a table in the back and started playing Apple to Apple. I should mention, no one was waiting on tables. This table had been available for the past hour as well. The owner made us feel so unwelcome. Saying, "This is a bar!! This is a bar!!" Isn't Grandview a family town? Wow. Such a terrible experience. We will never go back. We hope no one experiences this public humiliation and cruel judgment that happened to us. read more

This is a fun place to watch a movie. It probably doesn't have all the technological advances of all the modern theaters but it has its own homey vibe. We showed up about 30 minutes before our movie time and grabbed a couple of sour beers and ordered pizza. They get their pizza from Grandad's Pizza and it had to be delivered so if there's any recommendation I'd have it's to order your pizza 30-35 minutes before. We had to step out after 5 minutes into the movie to run out and pick up the pizza. That staff were wonderful and very helpful! read more

IS MOLLY RACIST OR THE QUEEN OF POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE? My boyfriend and I walked into the relatively empty bar area around 2:30. The bartender, Molly, never acknowledged our presence, but we watched her give the couple ahead of us (the only other beings in the building) impeccable service. As we patiently waited, a gentleman came in and stood behind us. As he grew impatient, he voiced he was going to sit at the bar. We watched Molly checkout the couple then give them a step-by-step tutorial on how to take their shot. After about 10 minutes, the couple walked toward the theatre. Molly didn't look in our direction, speak to us, or anything of the sort. Instead, she headed straight to the man at the bar--who'd come in after us. She gave him a menu. I thought at that moment she might return to us? But no! She hovered around him as he reviewed the menu--with breath bated. At that point, my boyfriend grew visibly upset, so we decided to leave and come to the Lennox. This wasn't my first time at Grandview Theatre, as I lived around the corner on First Ave. for 5 years, but it was my boyfriend's. And it wasn't good. I'm trying to understand why Molly would disregard us--from the moment we walked in. She never even looked up to watch us leave. But she had time to answer the phone when I called seconds later to get her name for this review. There is only one reason I can think of why we got the treatment we received. She obviously knows how to give good service, as we witnessed her give that to the couple ahead of us and the man after us. So, you do that math. read more

This is such a treasure in Grandview. The vide is amazing. I love the open windows during summer and I always get excited to go. They have a huge selection of draft beers. If you're not a beer drinker they have hard alcohol and wine. Lots of snack and I love how they pair with another local pizza shot (Grandads) to deliver to you there. I'm sure it's a great theater to go to for an adult evening out, but we had an iffy experience taking our family for an animated feature. First off, everyone pays $8. So there's no child rate nor under-this-age free policy (form our experience across Columbus it's usually 2 & under). The employee I asked just kept saying that it's still half-price of everyone else, which again may be true for a Saturday evening, but it's significantly more than what you'd pay at many theaters for a weekend matinee. And yes, the money goes to a local company rather than a behemoth like AMC, But we literally paid double of what the local multiplex charges. Secondly, the ticket line doubles as the concession line, meaning we had a 15-minute wait with four families in front of us while they got popcorn, beer, etc. The positives I can say was the theater itself was clean and there were no previews. Again, I'm sure great for adults date night, but I would not recommend for a family. read more

I'm very excited about what has been done to this theater! I haven't been able to catch a movie yet, but they seem to be rotating them pretty frequently and also showing some larger games as well. The new renovations are awesome (although I will miss having the Candle Lab in Grandview)! The addition of the bar area open seating is great! Sadly will never come back here. Used to love it but was highly disturbed by one of the bartenders complete disrespect last time I was in. I love the other staff but his intolerable disrespect and attitude is hard to ignore. Can't justify spending money here again.
