My friend in Houston is a high price escort (possibly kidding, no comment) and sometimes just for fun she likes to drive up and down Bisonnet on Friday and Saturday nights and check out the competition. The low rent competition I should say. Yes this part of town is famous for streetwalkers. So be it. Keep on rocking in the free world. Or keep on something in the free world anyway. A couple of friends of hers walk around here (lol) and a lot of really shocking spectacular things are on show, the likes of which you would not expect to see on the streets of the USA, and would not want your kids to see. So don't drive them around here after dark. Trust me. This gas station is at the end of the strip (and away from the action, but close), and always seems to have cheaper gas prices than everybody else in the area. In that regard it's absolutely awesome. I referred to this as my gas station because it is. So despite the occasional panhandling this is absolutely a five star gas station. And very conveniently located right on the entrance to the 59 so that after cruising up and down hooker alley, yes that's its name, you can fill up in gas right before you get on the highway to go home to the rich neighborhood. I mean you're on Yelp aren't you? So you have time to Yelp? So you aren't living in Greenpoint or the Barrio, are you. Just kidding obviously. What a bougie piece of sh** I sound like right now. But yes, my fave gas station in Houston. Get over it.

They have some upkeep to do. 1) The card reader does not work on several pumps. I had to try multiple pumps before I can find one that works. I even drove off a few times because I was frustrated with the pumps. 2) The restroom is not located in the best area. It's next to the car wash and has no ac inside. If nature calls, there isn't much option available. 3) Pumps never have receipt paper. 4). A plus to them for clearing out the panhandler. There used to always have panhandler offering to clear your windshield for some change. I always felt like, leave me along. I don't know you, why are you asking me for $$. Occasionally there are drive by in the parking lot asking $ for gas. They always have the same reason...I left my wallet at home and have no $$ for gas. Can you help me? A lady pulled up to me asking for gas once and she drives one of those Chevrolet pickup truck. Sorry lady, maybe it's time to downsize and save on some gas. For Cheap gas this place is recommended but I haven't gone to here for several weeks because of their pumps issue. This site is owned by timewise, which owns like 50% of the gas station in Houston. There is an access door to Burger King from Inside of the store. I love its convenience, just right off of Beltway and Beechnut - busy interaction with 2 entrances. And, the most importantly, there are 3 fast food joints in short walking distance: Burger King with 24/7 drive-thru and a Taco Bell/KFC joint next door. Unlike many gas stations in Houston, this Shell station doesn't attract loiterers and beggars. The gas station is lit up brightly at night, even when Burger King closed its dining room. I felt much safer to get gas here as compared to the one on Bissonnet.

I think it's the convenient store called BIG MART that makes it big. This is a typical gas station, nothing special. Except, it's the colorful neighborhood in the Westwood Subdivision. Plenty of gas pumps as well and a larger selection of items in the convenience store. Moderately clean restrooms as well. Shelves are fairly stocked and they have those fancy self checkout lines. This shell store doesn't really have the stuff that I want, and their convenience store prices are extremely high. The gas is not always too bad even though it's right across from the most popular Plaza in Chinatown, but it's either mid price or overpriced usually. It usually has average prices and is very conveniently located right on the corner. It's out on Bellaire next to Lee's Sandwiches and the prices usually aren't that cheap - but it's cool to have a gas station here right in the middle of Chinatown that is exactly where you want it to be. So I'm glad it's here even though I probably avoid getting gas here unless we're kind of urgent, kind of low, and we're right here getting sandwiches or running late for something.

This is a handy and friendly little gas station with pretty average convenience store prices, and pretty average gas prices, sometimes cheaper than average. The only reason I took them down from five stars after being really friendly with us is that they've been closing their bathroom a lot lately, which Barbi hasn't appreciated at all. As for the gas, this is a wonderful Exxon station which we've been to on many occasions, and they're very friendly and they have some decent products, and the convenience store is good, even though they're obviously overpriced. One of the best things about them is that they have a fairly clean bathroom that's usually open, but lately it hasn't been open, and they've been locking it, and that wasn't for Coronavirus, only literally the last month, which is kind of annoying. Hopefully they'll fix that in the near future because to say I'm not a fan would be a massive understatement. They'd get 5 stars if the ban yo became available again.
