While my attention was divided, unauthorized money was sent from my phone through my banking app/Zelle. The scam also involved a "Three Card Monte" style game where they encourage you to pick a card and claim they will double your money if you guess correctly. I did not participate in the game or allow them to give money to my child. After everything happened, I was informed this reportedly occurred multiple times today at Sheetz.Approaching women with children to play. Giving the children dollars What was especially alarming is that after the incident at Sheetz, the same group appeared to move to the TJ Maxx parking lot area and continued targeting other women. While there, another woman came up screaming and stated they had stolen $1,800 from her the week before. One individual was a Black male with dreads wearing multiple chains/jewelry. Another was a light-skinned male wearing a yellow worker-style safety vest. There was also a Caucasian male wearing blue shorts. Female Mexican skinny dark hair . They were seen leaving in a black sedan and a white van with the license plate WAH-- 1753 or 1810 The phone numbers used during the interaction were 336-925-3422 and 336-471-2370. They also appeared to spread themselves throughout the gas station near pumps 4-9 and pump 6. For confidential reasons, I cannot disclose all specifics involving my minor child, but I will say children were present during this interaction, which made the situation even more concerning. I truly tried to do the right thing by helping someone I believed was in need of emergency assistance, and this situation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Please do NOT hand strangers your unlocked phone, even if the story sounds urgent or believable. This was my fault . I also reported this to law enforcement, and I was informed this type of tactic is commonly associated with gambling/distraction scams. Also, to the woman who was screaming, recording, and saying she had also been scammed -- if you happen to be in this group, thank you so much for helping by recording and for calling the police. Shoutout to the Sheetz managers and TJ Maxx staff as well. Unfortunately Sheetz did not have security on duty during the daytime . Please stay alert, ladies, and keep your children close. I have already reported this to the appropriate agencies. Sharing this so other women and families stay safe.

The staff was friendly, smiling, and had good attitudes, though you could tell they were a little frustrated--probably with management. I overheard them in the cooler talking about not being able to run things the way they wanted, which makes me think there are some operational issues behind the scenes. The bathroom wasn't great--definitely could use some more attention. There was graffiti scratched into the mirror, and it wasn't the cleanest, but it wasn't outright disgusting either. If I were ranking it against other Sheetz locations, I'd give it a 3 or 4 out of 10. It didn't stand out in any way, but it wasn't bad enough to avoid. If I needed gas or a quick stop, I'd come back, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Both were well done, just the way we like it! Staff was generally friendly. And offered to help with the touch screen ordering system. The downfall came when we decided to eat in and use their dining area. We walked into an office, new employee training session! Almost every table was taken. One by a manager with a laptop. Another by two prospective filling out paperwork on tablets. Another by someone else in a Sheetz shirt with a laptop, and two others by new employees being trained, and a trainer roaming the room lecturing! No one said a word to us - just continued their tasks. Surely there is an office somewhere. There was another couple trying to squeeze in and enjoy their lunch. Just not a good situation. Sheetz, if your going to offer an eat in space, keep it clean, and make your managers use an office. What a shame - for a gas station, the food at Sheetz is pretty good.

I can't count on the tea to be filled and available whenever I go in, and I don't really get much food there anymore, so without being able to get a drink in the morning every time, it kind of makes me stopping pointless. Usually, it is there, but I would say once every couple of weeks I will walk in and the urns are empty, waiting to be serviced (like they have been noticed, but tea is not being brewed). It's frustrating when the brewed tea isn't available, because bottled drinks are so packed with sugar. I like to put just a small amount of sweet tea in a mostly unsweet cup. I do like that they have the powdered lemon available. Generally... they could probably do better here. It is a pretty busy location, so I feel like investing in more staff if needed would be worth it.
