Compared to the suburbs, there are NOT gas stations on every corner in D.C. Exxon is the closest gas station to Union Station. Located inside a historic brick building, they have four pumps. The entire station is kept clean. read more

Worst Exxon I have ever been to. I tried paying inside and his machine wouldn't take my card so he recommended tapping the card which I can't do since it's a prepaid card from Door Dash. I tried paying outside and the gas pump wanted me to put my pin, after that the screen changed and asked for my pin again. I am hoping that they aren't trying to steal my information. I wasted 20 minutes here and still no gas. If you want to waste your time or have nothing better to do, come here. read more

Cómo se dice total gas price gouging on Capitol Hill? This gas station makes a mockery of the term. Would that other gas stations tried to get away with the prices they charge for gas, we would all be driving electric cars or tapping 401(K)s to pay for petro. I do not think their sign has displayed the numeral two in the lead slot since the Bush administration...HW that is. I got one gallon, just enough to get me to something more reasonable in Georgetown even. As a perk to those doppelgängers of greed and lies on Capitol Hill (I am thinking about the lobbyist), the station at one time sold blank taxi receipts!!! In the stations pricing defense, it is the only gas station for a couple of miles radius depending on direction. I am sure the rent, taxes, and regulatory fees in a historical part of the city are high...but damn. It seems like they are trying for $1.00 delta on each gallon compared to a place like Wawa or Costco gas. Their prices are listed so you know what you are getting before you buy. What the market may bare run amuck. I added a star because, ironically, their prices seem reasonable for Capitol Hill (I know that is an oxymoronic statement) for car repairs. I took my car there on two emergency occasions over the years for car repairs. I had a busted hose with fluids and steam going everywhere. I thought that would be at least a $500 dollar repair just from the looks of my rambling wreck hissing steam and spewing toxic fluids everywhere. I was charged for the hose and only a fraction of the "book time" because, according to the shop, it was an easy fix for them. I just had to pick up my car before lunch since they do not have room to store cars. Not a negative, per se, it just means that they work quickly. High gas prices, reasonable repair prices. Would give zero if possible. Where to start? First, it's the most expensive station in the city by a dollar. Second, the pumps are miserably slow and there are only 4 so get ready to wait. I use this service station from time to time mainly for a quick stop to add air to my tires. Well, I needed to add air to all 4 tires the other day - that pesky caution light came on in the car - and stopped by this station on the way home. The lot this station sits on is very small and busy. Definitely have to have some patience to maneuver it at times, but it served its purpose. Only thing is, just like their gas prices, the cost for "air" is .50 for less than 1 minute of air. Smh needless to say, I had to get change (quarters only) to fill all 4 tires. read more

Was trying to pump gas into my car but their pump was really slow and took forever. And then the owner came out and cussed me and another customer out for taking to long. It was their own pumps fault. Don't go there! It's not worth it. I've never been yelled at and cussed at by a gas station guy before. It was so weird. read more

Ok before I give my review I have to respond to Brian M. Typically you are to change your brake pads at about 30,000 miles or 1/4in thickness. If the second opinion told you you have 20,000 to30,000 more miles on them, then you must have had brand you pads. The mechanic must have seen that they were worn. I am a regular customer here and I am treated with the great respect. I went in the other day for a check engine light on my van. It was tested for free and it turned out it was a problem with my gas casket which was all taken care of for no charge. Thank you guys at Congressional Exxon, you are the best!!! read more

The attendant here was incredibly rude when I was dealing with an emergency today. My roommate down on the side of the road and needed gas and he was not helpful at all. He could barely answer my questions and when I tried to ask him to reset the gas pump, he gave me an attitude and asked why I stopped pumping. I stopped pumping for like 30 seconds because I was trying to fill a can. Mind you, he had an attitude after I told him I was dealing with an emergency and needed assistance. He continued to give me an attitude and just told me to keep trying. Zero customer service and completely unhelpful/rude in an emergency situation. Will never go here again and I recommend not going here either. read more

Easiest place to get gas on Capitol Hill. Easy in and out and fair prices (see disclaimer below!). I did notice that the pump I was using was charging $49.99 for a gallon of Premium which I didn't even try to see if it was accurate but be careful in case they try to do this to make money of unsuspecting people. read more

I would give a negative rating if possible. Do not service your car here! I brought my car in to have a tire pressure sensor replaced and when I returned after work to pick up my car, the service manger Roy ran the front end of my car into the curb in the lot and left the car parked there. He ended cracking the front bumper, grill, and driver side inner fender. I had to file a no fault claim with my insurance and bring my car to a body shop for a week all because this genius doesn't know how to park a car. read more

This was going to be a one star review from my previous visit, but I went back and I had a great experience at Congressional Exxon with Billy. I went in needing air for my tire. I spoke with Billy and told him my tire was going flat every 2-3 days. He said that was because there's a leak. He very kindly checked my tire and found the smallest little nail ever that was causing the leak. I had came here previously and the two mechanics who I previously saw here for the this issue said they can't find the leak and I'd have to take it to a tire repair shop....really? I also mentioned I feel a vibration when driving and they had both shrugged and said it could be a lot of things. After Billy repaired my tire I told him about the vibration issue and he quickly noticed my brakes needed to be replaced. He also told me if the vibration stays after the new brakes are put on I'll probably just need a simple wheel balancing redone. So I left my car arranged an Uber ride back home. The car was ready to be picked up just a few hours later. The price was really reasonable. And the shaking is gone. I dread going into auto shops as a woman because I feel so out of place. This was a positive experience, and I will definitely go back and have my service done by Billy. read more

I went here to get an oil change and the guy told me that I needed brakes. I was skeptical and took it somewhere else to double check. They guy at the other place showed me the brake pads, which were completely fine, and said that I have another 20,000 to 30,000 miles left on them. So in short, I would not trust this guy at all. read more

This place was horrible. I went there to get my tire changed and their customer service was beyond awful. While waiting for the tow truck to bring my car, the main repair guy started yelling at me in front of other customers about how he couldn't fix the tire and it needed to be taken to a body shop. (Though when I called earlier on the phone, he said he could...) Ten minutes later the tow truck arrived, he saw that the damage around the tire was minimal, and he was able to change the tire in 5 minutes and charge me $72. I was completely humiliated and will never, ever go there again even to get gas. By the way, even though I read yelp reviews all the time, this is my first review because I was so upset after leaving that place. read more

Roy and his staff are the most friendly and reliable service folks I've ever encountered. They are thorough, make incredibly helpful recommendations and unlike other places I don't feel taken advantage of by the service folks (as most women can feel). For basic car maintenance (ie oil change, brake pads, tires) Roy and team are my go to folks. I drive a 2006 Lexus and believe I receive comparable if not better service than the Lexus service centers offer at a much faster pace and at a much more pocket friendly cost. As for those complaining about the gas- you guys do realize you are getting gas in downtown DC? His shop is honestly the cheapest I've found thus far in the area. They are awesome and honestly not trying to rip anyone off. read more

The overnight clerk locks the front door and expects you to shout through the bulletproof drive-in window and tell him what it is you want to buy. How am I supposed to know if I can't come in and see what they have? Mind you, he is already inside a locked plexiglass cage behind the counter, so it's not like he's in any danger by letting people inside. He's just lording it over you. I also think this guy is mentally unbalanced. He became angry and stepped out of his plexiglass cage and began yelling at me after I complained that he could have waited on me before taking 5 minutes to count his stack of money. What should you expect? A guy working overnight at a gas station is exactly the type to fly off the handle when a paying customer expects competent service. read more

First off, I would give this repair shop a negative or a 0 if I could. I called and asked what time the shop would open, they said 0700. At 0645 am I was at the gas station. It waa still closed. I dropped my Jetta off for an oil change. There was no price list, however, the gentleman who took my information on a piece of paper estimated $70 to $90 dollars for a synthetic oil change. I got a call 45 minutes later from a man saying the oil cap was "hot" and he couldn't change the oil and he would have to replace some part and it would be an additional $350 charge..... I was like... you know what, please don't touch my car. I'll be right back. BEWARE of these shady people. BEWARE!!!!! Either these people were incompetent trying to pull a fast one on a woman. I called bullsh**.. There was nothing wrong with the car. I took it to pepboys and it was fine. SMH. read more

My car broke down on the senate side of Capitol Hill miles from home. I was in NE on a small job when it happened. I needed to have my vehicle fixed immediately but still needed to get my job done. I googled auto repair and one of the first names with was Congressional Exxon with questionable reviews. Either way I called and explained my situation and Roy said don't worry I will take care of it for you. He was a mile from where I broke down, he came and saw my BMW was overheated, so I let the engine cool and drove it to him. Again Roy tells me not to worry and he will take care of it, He works from 8am to 4pm but if need be be he stays over time to finish cars same day again he assured I will get this done for you. True to his word Roy within minutes created a quote and for a BMW it was very reasonable, it is a BMW so parts cost more. After I gave the OK for work he introduced me to his mechanic Billy and right away he got to work on my car. As promised they finished the repairs same day and got me back on the road again. I did not miss a single minute of work and found someone I can trust in NE senate side. Roy even told me he drove to BMW to get my parts so they can finish same day. Really appreciate Roy and Billy for their work and honesty. Great team running that garage. read more

I agree the gas is high and I don't fill up there, but Roy and the service team are worth the money.I live close by and over the years Roy has gone out of his way to help me with my car troubles. This business has unreasonable prices. They charged me once 50 bucks for turning off a dummy light, which now I know I could have done myself. They were reasonable on a tire fix; but the tire must have been used. I had to change it two months later, with a strip coming off. If I were you, on Capitol Hill I would go to Distad's on Pennsylvania NE, just North of 8th! read more

I'm saddened to see the bad reviews for this shop. I went there for the first time last week when another shop rotated my tires and neglected to tighten the lug nuts on my back right wheel. Needless to say I randomly showed up to Congressional Exxon becuase they were close-by, desperately trying to get the tire situation fixed. The repairman fixed the other shop's mistake for free and told me that he was so happy I was safe and wasn't harmed. I then asked him to fix the other brake problems with my car, which he did for a great price. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. read more

This place is great, Roy the service manager really helped me out! I went to another place and they told me my car needed a lot of work. Being a women I felt like I was being taken advantage of so I went to congressional exxon because its on capital hill near my work. Roy was very honest and gave me a great price and only fixed what needed to be done. He is my new mechanic and I will be telling all my friends and family. Great place!!! read more
